    It''s easy to overvalue other teams'' signings against our own. If Palace had signed Guttierez there would be people on here saying they''d signed an experienced pro who''d give them some stability and nous.

    One of the main problems we''ve had this season has been integrating so many new players. I''d rather we spent on injury support like Yobo and concentrated on getting more from playing Hooper and Ricky

    By definition, most January signings are players who''ve failed at their clubs and are surplus or players stepping up to try and bolster teams with difficulties. Always risky and far too early to assess. How good are Ince and Zaha really? Why have they chosen the clubs that they have?

    None of it''s clear yet. The only gem we''ve missed is Holtby and he decided to stay in London. Which shows another issue. We have no idea what agendas these players have and why they chose where they do. Perhaps we had a chance and perhaps we had none possibly for non football reasons.

    We all like the excitement of transfers but all that glisters etc.

    This whole situation sums up what is wrong with football and society. I keep reading that Wes has only 15 months left on his contract so it is understandable and even laudable for him to try and force a move one to secure his future.

    What utter nonsense. The clue is in the comment he has 15 months left in a contract that he signed willingly and which he has accepted whilst it suits him. He expected to see out his contract and you can bet if he was injured or never selected he would still expect his pay cheque.

    Wes has a right to ask to be released from his contract but as the club has said no, he must get in with it and fulfill his contractual and employment law obligations. He does not have a legal or moral right to be disruptive to force his view on his employer.

    Football and society is now full of people believing that it is acceptable to enter into contracts and make commitments but then expect to walk away if the contract no longer suits. Life isn''t like that. You make a deal and sign a contract and you are legally bound for good or bad.

    Wes needs to get on with what he agreed to do. Play for City or not as the manager decides.

    Isn''t the real issue and the real basis for the chant the reason for the choice of club?

    We all know that supporting Norwich is not a glamorous or obvious choice. We all have our reasons for that support and we all want what is best for the club. We are all committed in our own way.

    We are football fans and what football fans despise is those who choose their allegiance based on success and glamour because it is the easy lazy choice. It is easy to support Man Utd now as it was easy to support Chelsea five years ago and Liverpool thirty five years ago. It is just tagging on to the successful team without any real affiliation but because they are successful.

    I was once told that the best way to wind up a football fan is to say "I used to support Arsenal but they''ve not won anything for several years so I''m thinking of switching to Manchester City".

    It works and it works because glory is the outcome of supporting your team and should not be the reason. I wind up man Utd fans by asking why they began their support. It is usually so pathetically superficial that they begin apologising and explaining it away.

    I guess the chant is really a riposte against the lazy thinking that permeates so many armchair fans that claim the big clubs. Ironically, the ones in the ground probably are real supporters just like our away fans.

    Put another way, the league table shows how far we''ve got it right.

    If you look at the strengths ratings on dectech.co.uk based on the Castrol and University of Warwick systems, with several seasons analysis of every tackle, pass sot and save you will see that we are ranked 20th.

    Nowhere no doubt some will criticise the methodology here and the statistics.....

    But, thus ranks us 20th and I do think we collectively overrate our team and squad. The only games that we have been statically favoured to win since the beginning of December are Fulham and Hull at home.

    I am constantly bemused by the expectation that we should be top half and up there with Southampton. We do not have players costing over £10 million nor attracting bids of over £20 million.

    We fans are ever optimistic and hope for wins which is how it should be. The expectation though damages our view of the team, manager and ourselves because we over expect.

    We have a team that is overachieving but the vast majority regard it it as underachieving. That is the disconnect that underlies so much of the angst and distress that so many currently feel.

    Before all the smart replies,I am not little Norwich. We have earned our place in the top league and I am proud of that. We have good players and we will improve the squad further. In many respects, we are still a work in progress. I

    I read a few pages and it''s hardly a deep debate. They don''t see the inconsistently of the non logic that Villa refused to sell Benteke but we have to sell Wes.

    They genuinely believe that we should be grateful to Lambert and submit to his bidding.

    Overall, you would never guess from Villatalk that Villa that is a club that has been in slow but steady decline for the last five years and is one bad season away from being the new Leeds.

    It does seem that having a history can seriously affect football fans'' sense of reality. We''ve had all this semi delusional nonsense before with Ipswich and Leeds

    Perhaps that is the best thing about being City fan. We have a modest history but because of that, can honestly believe that our best times are still to come.

    Well Tilly clearly has some kind of grievance which seems to the outside eye to be very Life iof Brian. I fully accept that the Trust is honourable. But then again, it is still running and NCISA is not. Also, McNally doesn''t talk to them any more.
