  1. I wouldn't want him just because of his thuggish behaviour, but also even if you anonymise his cv it's not very good really

He did well in the Aussie League and the J league

His one try in Europe in Belgium was a disaster and he was sacked after 6 months with a 13% win record

    Plus he's nearly 50

The NCFC app has Sargent at LWB and Dimi at CM. I assume this is wrong and Sargent will be up top alongside Pukki?

Also, why us Nunez on the bench again? He's our best midfielder.

Nunez is probably still not 100% fit. I'm sure he'll come on at some point

I see Sinani, who started the last 2, is out of the squad completely

  3. I can't see any way he'll get a work permit

The rules are different if you're under 21 but even so I can't see how he'll get enough points. He's presumably for the U23s anyway. I don't know if there are different rules if he's just registered as a youth player and not registered as a full professional?

Hopefully the club knows the roolz

Just wondering if anyone had seen Abu play? His goalscoring record is really good, and he'll be 20 next summer... he's scored 8 in 7 games for the U21s this season, after 15 in 27 last season. Hugill needs to be shipped out in January, and Idah has never looked like being a regular goalscorer for us... could he be a potential successor to Pukki if we're strapped for cash?

I've never seen him play live but he's had a really good record at u23 level for a couple of years

Dickson-Peters and Omotoye were sent out on loan but Kamara never was for some reason. He was in the squad for the Brighton game last season so I reckon he is seen as the next striker in line

I'd love him to either get a loan in January or a spot on the bench

  5. They won't sack him just before Xmas

If you look at the timeline of Farke's sacking (according to Michael Bailey), he lost to Leeds on the Sunday.

Webber mulled over the decision and decided to tell the board that that was his recommendation on the Thursday

The board met on the Saturday morning (the day of the Brentford game) and agreed to sack him that day

So I imagine they'll be making a decision this week and if he's sacked it'll be just after Christmas

Didn't your opening few paragraphs describe Scott Parker?

I agree with you though, because those are my exact thoughts, and why Russell Martin would be my number one pick.

Maybe, but Parker would be expensive having 2 promotions on his CV and he's never done much in the Prem. I don't think his football style is anything special. He's a good motivator but I don't think he's that much else

What Smith shows is you need a coach on their way up, who's still ambitious,  not one going from club to club going through the motions

Out of British coaches I know I'd also be happiest with Martin

  7. We should be doing what Burnley did

Kompany was doing OK at Anderlecht, but not anything superamazing results wise. Presumably they watched his team play and liked his style, youth policy etc and took a punt on him

I'm sure there are young coaches who are doing well and seem to have the right philosophy working around the world. We must have an extensive scouting network in place looking at players, so we must know who the promising coaches are.

I'd feel much happier with a coach under 40 who has a philosophy he can communicate so we can feel there's a long term plan again

If we just sack Smith and go for Gerrard or Scott Parker or someone just because they're available it would be a waste of time

  8. Also Giannoulis

Did Smith say anything about them after the match in between slagging off the fans?

I'd be disappointed if Dimi leaves in January - I think he's good at this level - but I wouldn't be surprised. I think he's been treated poorly

Whoever is in charge of dortmunds under 21’s get them in !
We should have stuck with the plan and got a upgrade on farke

that is what Webber sold us having a DOF would do continue the work from coach to coach without a big change if and when a coach left / sacked

not get someone in completely different

    Isn't this a Brexit thing?

I don't think we can get an unknown European coach these days  They wouldn't get a work permit.
