  1. Thegame football section in today's Times lists the teams that have scored 9 or more in the top-flight since the second world war. ITFC are mentioned 3 times (all on the wrong end of the result) :

    December 26 1963 Fulham 10 Ipswich 1

    March 21 1964 Stoke 9 Ipswich 1

    March 4 1995 Manchester United 9 Ipswich 0

Surely just a co-incidence that their shirt features 3 stars.

Just 13 games in total where a team scored 9 or more, so to appear 3 times on the losing end of the result is an achievement not to be envied.

  2. There is an interview with Delia in today's Culture section of the Sunday Times. The paragraph that stood out to me is as follows:

She and her husband are both 80 with no children, so what happens to their 52% stake in the Premier League club they have held since 1997 has become significant. There was talk of a nephew inheriting, but that is not happening. She has said she plans to leave all her money to the humanitarian aid organisation the International Rescue Committee.

If money means all assets in her estate then it would include shares in NCFC and would IRC want to hold unquoted shares that do not pay a dividend? It would be more likely that they would wish to dispose of the shares for cash.

  3. Looking at the Companies House web site it relates to the Resolutions passed at the recent AGM. It gives the directors the power to allot shares up to an aggregate nominal value of £1,000,000.

The ordinary shares have a nominal value of £1 and there are currently 616,913 allotted, called up and fully paid. Issuing a further 1,000,000 would be a significant event.

Presumably the reason for giving the directors the power to allot shares was explained at the AGM. Perhaps someone that attended the AGM via video link could explain what was said.

  4. Quote

I have always used the car parking at the Star City leisure complex. Parking is free, plentiful and there are no time limits. According to Google it is 1.7 miles from Villa Park and a 25 minute walk (I reckon I walk it in less). It saves paying to park and avoids all the traffic near the ground. Getting away after the game is easy as well.

Shame my loyalty points were not high enough to be able to get a ticket!
