  3. Thought you might like to hear how our season has gone, it’s been a really successful one with lots of money being raised for the CSF. These are the events we’ve had so far, thank you to everyone one of you who has supported them July 16 Steve Stone Forum August 16 Players Forum - Jacob Murphy - Ivo Pinto - Jonny Howson Oct 16 Legends Evening - Terry Allcock - Hucks -  Adam Drury Jan 17 Pundits Night - Rob Butler - Michael Bailey - Iwan Roberts Feb 17 Quiz Evening for CSF - 36 teams  of 6 April 20th Social Evening ( see website for details ) The quiz evening was our biggest event, a real fund raiser for us and was sponsored by Alan Boswell Insurance Company who paid for the majority of expenses on the night plus a friend who owns ‘The Little Baking Station’ made us 200 green & yellow cup cakes free of charge which we sold for £6 a box on the night. We had 3 great auction prizes donated by the club & Chef Galton of Morston Hall and we had managed to get sweets for the 36 tables free of charge from Lidl, Sainsburys & QD. In addition to that in the last 21 months since we launched, our website www.ncfsc.co.uk  has had nearly 17000 views, our twitter account now has 1300 followers and our facebook page has 1400 likes, which are pleasing statistics in such a short space of time. We’ve had a lot of support on our journey,  ncfc fans have really got behind us including lots of you pinkun posters on here who have attended our events, Radio Norfolk presenters have been great advertising our events. Archant have been brilliant giving us space in the local papers, pundits, legends & our guests have been great. Our club have continued to provide rooms/facilities free of charge, given us advice when needed and supported our events & have been brilliant So it’s been a busy season for us volunteers but all the effort has been worthwhile because today we are on the pitch at halftime to present our cheque for the money we''ve raised this season to our great charity the Community Sports Foundation . We raised £3000 last season but it''s much more this season but is a secret until halftime lol We are very proud of what we have achieved so far and know how much a difference that money makes to our charity who us volunteers have taken into our hearts. Finally if there is any individual or company that would like to help with sponsorship for next seasons events please contact me, we’ll give you plenty of publicity and helps us with expenses meaning even more money goes to our charity So just leaves me to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who’s supported us, keep coming to our events which are all publicised on our website/facebook/twitter account and if you have any ideas for events that you would like to see happen, just pm me or email me on contact@ncfsc.co.uk. Diane ( on behalf of our team of volunteers)
  4. Just wanted to thank everyone on here who came to our charity quiz night last night to raise funds for the CSF. What a great night, I hardly know where to start lol. We had 35 teams who all turned up so it was a full house. We had lots of ncfc staff there to support us who were in teams, they had a marketing team, media team, events team, staff team plus Steve Stone and Tom Smith came to support us too. My friend Mel made us 150 green & yellow cup cakes which were all sold & raised £150, the 3 donated auction prizes all raised loads and we sold hundreds of raffle tickets. Our team of volunteers worked their socks off as did our friends from the CSF who helped us but the end result was well worth the hard work we all put in. Special mentions to Eddie ( Nutty Nigel) who worked tirelessly to set all the questions for us and to Darren Eadie our quizmaster who did a great job as always In total we raised a staggering £2625 for our club''s charity, which was beyond our wildest dreams. So thanks again to those who came, to those who have come to events and to those who can''t come but support us with words of encouragement & support. Pictures and team scores will be in our website at the weekend. An emotional Diane on behalf of our fans social club''s volunteers team.
  5. Thank you for your kind comments  "and Smith must score " glad you enjoyed it and thanks Tilly, yes it was another event which was very well attended, we''re very grateful to all those who support us at our eventsA short Summary of our Pundits Night What goes on in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room…..unless you were at this week’s Pundits Evening held at Carrow Road. The evening was another one organised by us social club volunteers and was a little bit different as it featured some of our best known and loved local football summarises. Iwan Roberts, now plying his punditry with BBC Wales among others, Radio Norfolk’s voice of Canary Call Rob Butler and Pink ‘Un/Mustard TV maestro Michael Bailey joined regular Social Club host, Canary legend and pundit in his own right Darren Eadie in a night of many laughs about life in front of the microphone. Matters discussed in an informal chat between the four front men and a question and answer session from the audience included how they got into punditry, the superior quality of catering of Premiership press boxes, how hard it is to type a report for the Pink ‘Un while simultaneously trying to watch the rest of the game and calling it wrong when there’s no slow-mo replay to show who actually stuck it in the net. The impact of social media and how relationships have changed between club, professional media and fans down the years was also discussed. All four had many insights and funny stories to tell about who and what they like and don’t like about the job. Dealing with managers came up as a question from the audience and provided one of the most alarming, if slightly off-topic anecdotes of the night from one of our ex-players. Apparently a dressing down from a certain manager meant exactly that. After a poor team performance made him so furious he was unable to wait even to put his clothes on, he delivered the proverbial hairdryer speech to the whole dressing room while completely naked other than his socks and shoes…. And if that doesn’t put you off, look out for the next Norwich City Fans Social Club event which are advertised on www.ncfsc.co.uk, on twitter @NorwichCityFSC and on our facebook page Have a great weekend everyone! Diane on behalf on our volunteers team
  6. Swindon - Sorry but rooms are all booked up on matchdays, its their busiest day for hospitality and to reiterate what Eddie/Duncan said guests we have at forums wouldn''t be free on matchdays anyway as they are all working in some capacity. We would like to do something for fans outside of Norfolk though so will give that some thought for next season. King Canary - Sorry you can''t make it tonight and don''t like the choice of guests, we had lots of suggestions for local pundits and think in these 3 we have a good mix to give us an insight into the world of tv/radio/journalism. Let us know what sort of event would entice you next season and if it''s viable we''ll try to please you. Thanks again to everyone on the pinkun who supports our events, it''s much appreciated Diane ( on behalf of our volunteers team )
  7. Just in case you haven''t seen it advertised on our website, twitter or facebook  tomorrow night (Tues) we have a fans forum at Carrow Road, hope to see some of you there. Here''s our press piece from last week advertising the event in our local paperPundits Night – Life from the Other SideSo, even we fans know it’s not all glamour and free coffee covering Norwich City through thick and thin from the commentary box.But what’s it really like having to ask awkward questions when City lose?  Who’s been the craziest Canary Caller?  Do your fellow pundits annoy you?  Is it hard to be critical when you’ve played with some of the team on the pitch?Come along and ask all these questions and more, at the next event brought to you by the Norwich City Fans Social Club at Carrow Road on 10 January.  In an evening with a bit of a twist, three of City’s best known press pundits are chatting to former crowd favourite and presenter in his own right, Darren Eadie.Radio Norfolk’s Rob Butler, Pink ’Un/EDP/Mustard TV/general all round sports fan Michael Bailey, and the one and only Canary legend Iwan Roberts, now working for Sky, Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales will be lifting the lid on life behind the glass screen.Just the thing to cheer up the winter woes, everybody’s welcome to this event at the Top of the City function room (entrance from the Main Entrance, South Stand).   Entry is just £3 on the door for adults and £1 for children, doors and bar open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Plus we''ll have our usual raffle; with proceeds going to the CSF
  8. A dream line up of Norwich City Legends will once again grace the Barclay End for an adoring audience of fans next month. With nearly 1000 Canary appearances between them, former city favourites Darren Huckerby, Adam Drury and Terry Allcock will be adding another Carrow Road appearance to that massive total on November 2. It’s the latest event brought to you by the Norwich City Fans Social Club. The last Legends evening was a huge hit, with topics including playing against George Best or Ronaldo, life after football, cash in the modern game and referees. With humour, honesty and eye-opening anecdotes a-plenty, the spread of football generations made the evening truly fascinating. This time around, our star performers are sure to serve up more of the same – with life-changing experiences such as the famous 59 cup run, promotion to the premiership and the heartbreak of relegation to League One to talk about. Or if you just want to know what a city legend has for breakfast, that’s fine too as the floor will be open to the fans to ask whatever they like. The Social Club is supported by all at Carrow Road and is open to all fans, be they near or far, occasional or never-miss-a-game stalwarts. It provides fun events with current and former players, managers, backroom and boardroom staff, quizzes, competitions, raffles and other events. There’s no official membership list, so there’s no fee – you don’t join, you just join in. The Legends evening starts at 7.30pm in the Top of the Terrace bar above the Barclay. Doors open at 7pm and the bar will be open until 10.30pm. Entrance is just £3 for adults and £1 for children – pay on the door. As if there was any further reason needed to come along, there’s also a great raffle in aid of the Community Sports Foundation AND a city shirt signed by Grant Holt to be auctioned off. Find out more about the Social Club and what’s coming next at www.ncfsc.co.uk , @NorwichCityFSC on twitter and Norwich City Fans Social Club on facebook. Hope to see some of you there Diane ( on behalf of our volunteers team )

  10. Before I tell you about our next forum can I just thank everyone who supported our events last season, its was very much appreciated by all us volunteers. We organised bi monthly social nights for fans ranging from a players forum,  managers forum to a legends night  and two very popular quizs and the events were all well attended. Its only been nearly one year since we launched and in that time we''ve gained over 1000 followers on twitter, had 1272 likes on facebook and had over 7000 views on our website www.ncfsc.co.uk.  But the more importantly we''ve raised £3000 for the Community Sports Foundation which they are going to use to send a team of children with learning difficulties  to compete in the 4 day National Special Games in Sheffield. More about it here http://www.specialolympicsgb.org.uk/2017-sheffield-gamesHere''s the details of our next forumThere are lots of changes at the club with David McNally leaving, new sponsors for our shirts, new sponsors for the Jarrold stand and of course there''s the summer transfer window to talk about. So here''s your chance to ask those burning questions and who better to answer them than our Interim Chief Executive Steve Stone! With all that in mind, we have organised a fans forum with our host, Darren Eadie and Steve Stone for Friday the 22nd of July at 7:30pm at the top of the terrace, Carrow road. Admission is £2 and of course there will be our usual raffle to raise money for the CSF. After the forum why not join us volunteers at the bar for a drink to chat all things Norwich City. The club officials have continued to support & help us grow our social club and without them we wouldn''t have achieved so much. Our next event is our Legends Evening which will be a q & a style forum with Darren Eadie, Dean Ashton, Adam Drury and Dave Stringer as our guests. It’s on Wed 17th Feb in the Top of the Terrace, doors & licensed bar opens at 7pm and the forum starts at 7:30 pm so we’re hoping for another fun night. 16. The quiz night was fantastic, we had 26 teams of 6, Darren Eadie did a great job as quiz master and from the feedback we''ve had today I think its safe to say that everyone enjoyed it. Its only 3 months since our launch and we''ve had 1500 likes on facebook, 800 followers on twitter and 2500 visitors to our website. Never did I think back last Xmas when I had this idea that it would get so big so quickly and thats thanks to our wonderful volunteers team who work hard behind the scenes to put these events on For our next event we asked the club if we could have access to Alex Neil, Gary Holt, Frankie McAvoy for a fans forum and guess what they''ve said yessssssssssss lol So our next event is on Wed Dec 9th - Top of the Terrace at 7:30pm Hope you ll come and support us Diane
  17. Just wanted to let you know that all our tables for the quiz are now full so thanks to anyone on here who is in a team or has put a team together to support us and the CSF. Other exciting news is that the club put a piece about our fans social club in the programme at the Leic game, plus the PA announcer read out a bit about us & the quiz just before kick off which helps us get the message out to everyone especially the fans who aren''t online. So its going well, the club have been brilliant with us and we have another exciting event coming up in Dec so watch this space. Diane ( on behalf of the volunteers )

  19. Firstly thanks to all those who supported our first event which was a players fan forum with Seb, Russ & Youssouf which was held in the Top of the Terrace on August 19th. We had a great evening and there are pictures and a summary of some of the questions on www.ncfsc.co.uk if you''d like to take a look. Our social club is coming along nicely, we have a close knit team of volunteers who are working hard to put on events throughout the year which we think you ll enjoy, but if you have any ideas please contact us via the contact form on the website as we''re very open to viable suggestionsOur second event is on Wed Oct 21st again in the Top of the Terrace which is a footballing quiz evening with a few other fun rounds thrown in, the quiz has been prepared by Duncan and Eddie ( Nutty) and they have put some hard work in so would be good if some of you could support it.All the proceeds from the night ( minus any costs incurred ) will go to the CSF  which you all know is a great charity, so your money will go to making a real difference to the lives of people less advantaged than ourselves. We have invited  fans groups and local companies to take part plus we''ll hopefully have a ncfc management team and a ncfc players team plus a team from the pinkun pups, so it should be a  competitive fun night. Here are brief details, but full details and how to enter are on our website http://www.ncfsc.co.uk/events/quiz-nightTeams of 6£30 per team *Bowl of chips and sweeties to nibble onLicensed BarGuest Quiz MasterPrizes for the winners table* The entry fee, less any costs incurred, will be donated to the CSFLook forward to seeing some of you there and remember [:)] '''' You don''t join, you just join in "Diane ( on behalf of the volunteers )
  20. Just a quick note to say thank you to all you pinkun posters who came to our first fans forum tonight. We had some great feedback from people attending and there''s loads of feedback on twitter tonight. Darren Eadie did a great job hosting and the players were great answering questions and having their pictures taken afterwards with anyone who asked. Lappin got a birthday cake presented to him by one of the players and going by the smile on his face it made his night. We hope to have pictures and a summary of questions on our website www.ncfsc.co.uk some time over the weekend. Next event is a quiz night so come and pit your wits against the ncfc management team and a players team, full details to follow in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your support on here, much appreciated Diane ( on behalf of the volunteers )
  21. Got some lovely raffle prizes for Wed nights fans forum plus picked up the signed shirt today which is hanging up ready to be presented to it''s new owner. 22. Sorry Scrimmage link is wrong and is  here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02xv2pf
  23. Well it''s been 2 weeks since I last did an update so thought it time to fill you in on the busy 2 weeks we''ve had. Clare and I did the Nick Conrad show on Radio Norfolk last week to speard the word about our new social clubhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02xb10l Then last night we were invited onto the Scrimmage which was a good laugh though I was naughty and asked Chris if he''d had a bollocking instead of had he been told off, forgot I was on the radio oops http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02xb10l Today we released the names of the players who will be attending the fans forum to answer fan''s questions who are Bassong, Martin and Mulumbu  ( subject to change ) and we''re delighted to have legend Darren Eadie host the event for us. Full details can be found here on the pinkun -  thank you Petehttp://www.pinkun.com/norwichcity/russell_martin_sebastien_bassong_and_youssouf_mulumbu_to_take_part_in_norwich_city_fans_q_a_session_1_4194414 and here http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/norwich-city-fans-social-club-first-event-2619307.aspx  - thankyou Norwich City. So its all going well, our facebook page is thriving, our website has a regular stream of visitors and twitter is working well for us. We tweeted out today re the fans forum and it has already been retweeted by several officials of the club, ncfc main twitter acc ( 260k followers) Simon Thomas (144k followerss) Nick Conrad, Chrissie Jackson, Dan OHagon amongst others, so we''ve had a lot of help to spread the word. So just leaves me to say on behalf of the volunteers, please come and support us, its our first event and we''d love to get a good crowd. All our raffle proceeds are going to our chosen charity CSF so its going to a great cause. Door open at 6:45pm forum starts ar 7:30pm sharp Can''t finish without saying a big thankyou to everyone at ncfc, the help, advice and guidance they have given me in starting this social club has been overwhelming, nothing has been too much trouble and us volunteers wouldn''t have got this far without themDiane ( hope all the links work )
  24. Yes it''s the Nick Conrad show on Radio Norfolk, he''s a big Norwich City fan so was eager to help us publicise our fans social club. We''ve also been invited onto the Scrimmage in August by Chris Goreham so hopefully with the help of those two presenters and our friends at Archant, who kindly advertised our launch in the EDP we should reach out to any fans who don''t get online
  25. Wes Holy Fan - Lets judge the lad  on what he does in his social club role rather than on  pinkun posts that he did years ago as a teenager.  Moving on .....................We should be able to confirm the names of the players attending the fans forum on Wednesday August 19th very soon, so watch this space, hope you''ve all got the date pencilled in your diaries. Clare and myself have been invited to appear onto the Nick Conrad show on August 5th which will give us a chance to tell fans what we''re all about and what events we have planned, so have a listen. Neither of us are used to giving interviews but we''ll do our best to avoid the umms & pauses, get our message across and do our social club proud.Any questions or ideas for events please contact us via our website www.ncfsc.co.uk  we would love to hear them.Do remember that any profit from any raffles or competitions we run will go to our chosen charity the CSF a really worthy cause ( for more information on what the CSF do please see our website )Diane ( on behalf of our volunteers )
