Good background stuff but does not tackle the key Wes conundrum - just how do you set a team up to get the best out of Wes without compromising your underlying tactics?
Pretty much how Alex Neil is doing it, give him a free role just behind a single striker, with virtually zero defensive responsibility.
Just like Hughton did 49 times in two seasons.........

Reading through other threads and seeing this does make you guilty of provocation LCD [:|] [;)]

  2.
We all know there is waste in our public services, and fraud, some 1.6 billions worth of it, still its becoming obvious that they want to get rid of public services altogether. Today another 1.8% of central grants to public services slashed. If they think that we pay for a central bureaucratic Government so they can rule tyhe roost, and also fund our own public services from an increase in council tax, they better think again. War mongering and wasting money on lawyers, arms and 30 billion tax cuts for Osborne''s pals, is all coming from our taxes, now they want to wreck the whole edifice. Sod them! not a single penny more, get it from your tax evading pals, scrooge.
The conservatives are taxing the rich higher than they have ever been taxed.

And surely Lafferty could have played a part in the promotion cause.
I think Lafferty''s International form is a bit of a red herring. Every time I saw him play it was like a game where he tried to get a yellow card as quickly as humanly possible. He is being played more as a striker for Ireland, but he has played just as much as a wide player for other clubs, so this concept we were always playing him out of position is a bit false. We should be happy that Alex is giving the likes of Loza a chance.
Thank you for that. I might be best shut up for a while. [:$]
Nah lol.I can only assume that Alex Neil didn''t like what he saw in Lafferty, but when you see him scoring goals its natural that doubts creep in.But so far his judgement on most things seems pretty good, he seems to have a knack of getting the best out of players, perhaps Lafferty wasn''t receptive to his methods, and was considered disruptive in the group? All speculation on my part, of course.

  5.
Being brutally honest though, would any of those players walk straight into our first team right now?
No they would not but why risk losing strength in depth at what was always a crucial stage of the season? Turner popping up with a near post header for a winner for Fulham against us on the last day and denying us instant promotion is a reoccuring nightmare.

  6.

Good win, 6-1.  No Whittaker in the squad though. Injured maybe?
So Gibraltar''s goal must have been Martin''s fault.[:P]
I thought the official stock in trade message board line was that "he always plays really well for Scotland at centre-back"?
I don''t follow. Whittaker has been solid all season.

  7. We have a strong squad but I have to question sending players out till the seasons end when going for promotion. Especially experienced heads like Lafferty and Turner.

6 England DF Michael Turner (at Fulham until end of 2014–15 season)
9 Northern Ireland FW Kyle Lafferty (at Çaykur Rizespor until end of 2014–15 season)
20 Netherlands FW Ricky van Wolfswinkel (at Saint-Étienne until end of 2014–15 season)
21 England FW Josh Murphy (at Wigan Athletic until 16th April 2015)
25 England MF Jacob Murphy (at Colchester United until end of 2014-15 season)
35 England DF Harry Toffolo (on loan at Swindon Town until end of 2014–15 season)
36 Northern Ireland MF Cameron McGeehan (on loan at Luton Town until end of 2014–15 season)
Wales MF Louis Thompson (at Swindon Town until end of 2014–15 season)

  8.
Not embarrassing that Akpom chose Forest over us, or the league leaders for that matter. Just common sense as thats where he will start games #notrocketscience
What is embarrassing is how many fans wanted him so badly when we already have capable players either here or out on loan.

  9. Republic of Ireland: Given; Coleman, O’Shea, Wilson, Brady; Walters, McCarthy, Whelan (Long, 83), McGeady (McClean, 68); Hoolahan; Keane.

    Poland: Fabiański; Olkowski, Szukała, Glik,

    Wawrzyniak; Peszko (Kucharczyk, 88), Krychowiak, Jodłowiec, Rybus;

    Lewandowski, Milik (Mila, 84).

  10.
just to confirm that as an international "loan" he is contracted to his turkish team until the end of the season (rather than the more traditional local "emergency" loan) and no recall condition can be inserted/applied.
So by all accounts possibly a blunder by our manager.
