1.

I was more disgusted by the news SDP is missing next weeks game to go to a gig.  Missing a game, for a gig?  Disgcraceful behaviour. :O)
Indeed it is. When the tickets were booked it was long before the fixture list was published and I was keeping my fingers crossed for an away fixture. Even more shocking is the fact that I have to miss the following home game as well! I promise 100% attendance after that though.
The question is, what''s the gig?[:D]
I should think it will be V festival.Or there''s a band called Big Tuna playing in somewhere called Dysart.

So Wiz are you in the Flip side or the Flop side this morning? Heads or tails?

I honestly can''t see anythign wrong with this appointment. I don''t think Steven Fry will back Delia over McNasty unless he thinks she is right and he is wrong. He was always come across as someone of high integrity and to be a puppet doesn''t seem like him, I could be wrong though.

As for the sale of Leicester this is the same person who sold Pompey to Gaydamak and look where they ended up. Mandric is a businessman who is only looking out for himself. I wouldn''t trust him over Delia.

    Davo
On Mandric I''d agree Davo.

But Z'' listers stick together, plus they''ll be yet more ''micky'' heaped on us over this appointment, and yet again the root cause of it is her.

It doesn''t resolve one iota of our financial woes and will only weaken a recovering boardroom.

I expect to see McNally as their first victim.
Wiz, see my post on your other thread. This nonsense needs to stop. You are ridiculously wide of the mark on this one. You need to wind this up now.

So says that respected rag the EDP.

    Don''t make me laugh.

Johnny Depp, Renee Zellweger, Tom Cruise and Sandra Bullock are A'' list celebrities.

Our prize pair, might, just might, at a push scrape a Z in celebrity circles.

Get real Archant and knock off sucking up to our two Z'' listers!
Wiz. I''m sorry, but this is unacceptably ridiculous. And I demand an apology from you for typing such a deliberately fact-free statement unless....can you name me 3 British (we are a British, not global club/brand/business) people in the national public eye, who have more than 7 million people following their daily updates, who proudly associate themselves with our club and have done for a long time, who are on prime time national television regularly, are regularly invited to present awards ceremonies watched by a global television audience such as the BAFTAs,are viewed by the outstanding majority of the British public as a naitional treasure, are known to be extremely intelligent and in no way could be accused of band wagon jumping or doing things to shamelessly plug their own profile. I''m only asking for 3, and by your assertion that he is Z list, that would suggest you know of 25 who more qualify as A-listers (see my point above about how we have no interest in attracting anyone other than a Brit or at the very least someone who predominantly works/spends time in this country).Give up now? Right, apologise then.If no financial investment comes as a result of Fry''s appointment to the board, then he still will not do us ANY harm at all from being involved, and will only raise the profile of the club in the best possible way. I look forward to hearing from you.Piglet.(formerly Seat0123)

  4. the post at the top of this page is case in point. Some fans are blinded by "effort" and "giving all for the shirt". In an ideal world, you''d have fantastic players who bleed yellow and green. But when the players are clearly so deficient then I''m afraid I''m on the side of those who feel sorry for them as they''re clearly trying their best, but can''t overlook how awful they are and criticise them. I shouted some abuse at Nelson a couple of times on Tuesday night. Sorry Michael. He was shown up too many times in a row by League 2 players. This for me is not good enough for a championship club. I have no doubt PL wanted to start the season with Ward and Whitbread. But the former looks devoid of confidence and the latter may never get fit.

    Lambo''s decision making:

    McNamee- error

    Elliott- error

Whitbread- jury out though looks like the injury-prone fears are true

Nelson- appreciate askou & whitbread not fit otherwise hopefully wouldn''t get near our team

Johnson- CAN''T see what he sees, WHAT potential?

Lack of big man cover for Holt- believe this could be financial restraint

    Leyton Orient (a) tactics- mental

Pretty much everything else... Spot on.

When the list is that small, I think that shows what an impressive manager he is and why we all have such faith in him. I hope eventually he sees the folly regarding the above players ad once/if he can afford to, he replaces them.
I agree Rob, I think our club is going about things in the right way, and when football implodes sometime in the next few years, I think we shall rise, like a phoenix from the ashes, to take our place at the top table of football.
I used to think the same but I''m not so sure now. It looks like we are making more effort now to be competitive in todays game. That will mean more risk the higher we go. It''s what the fans wanted and it''s probably right but the bottom line seems to be we are no longer happy to consolidate at a level the club can afford.
I don''t entirely believe it either, its more like footy fan blind optimism! Perhaps we could adopt some kind of "ambition with prudence" policy.[;)]
In this world where the grass is always greener on the other side of the street I would never discount some kind of protest urging the club to show more prudence with it''s ambition [:O]
Where do you live that you have streets made of grass?

  6.
Chris Martin is not even a proven Championship player and people putting a £3-4 million price tag on his head are living in cloud cuckoo land , by the end of the season he will struggle to even get into Citys line up as i feel Holt - Jackson is going to be Lamberts prefered partnership .
I''m not saying you''re wrong, but interested to know which of Jackson''s performances have suggested that happening so far?

  7.

Funny how it appears everybody wants to whinge and moan about Norwich City''s credit card charge but not Nottingham Forest.A family of four buying online at NCFC are charged a total of £1.50p but at NFFC £5.
Why do you write everything in italics?
Tilly actually speaks in italics too.
Really? Is that with a slight air of sarcasm or leaning back at an angle as he talks? [:)]

  8.
Nothing on any match reports, I imagine it was one of these silly "run out" appearances where they''re given next to no time to make an impact :)

Would rather have this than him playing 90 minutes and picking up a knock to be honest
I hope he had a word with bellers to say that our back ups to Holt/Martin aren''t much to shout about and he might get a game...

  9. Which bit are you struggling with? Desperately sorry to cause you confusion old chap, point out which element is not relevant to the price of chips in your opinion?

The part where I addressed the fact I don''t think he cares much that we''re his local club (I hope I''m proved wrong), where I gave my opinion that he''s a real talent or that I feel we need to be high up the league to resist bids for him (which alludes to being in with a chance of promotion), or maybe the point that Nelson is so poor that we''ve little chance of being in that aforementioned high position if Lambo keeps starting him.

Let everyone know, I''m sure someone will be happy to then explain in detail so your ignorance is overcome. Your misplaced insult is forgiven.

  10.
Well it''s hard to say whether he will cut in this league since we''ve played one game.

But I do agree he is developing really well and will be a big player for us this season.

However he is nowhere near premiership class yet, and it would have to be a fairly big premiership club to lure him away from his local team. So i don''t think he will go in the near future. If someone offered 2 million or more i would have thought we would accept, but they won''t.
I (sadly) wouldn''t expect us being his local team to play any part in him staying, he''s not the badge-kissing type, I wish so much that he was. He''s the best natural finisher to be brought through at the club since Bellamy in my humble opinion, and I fully expect him to go on to have the same level of career, just two or so years behind what bellamy achieved because of his attitude problems that needed overcoming early in his career. I think come January, when he''s already got 14 or so goals, we may well have a £3million bid to fight off. I hope that we''re in the top 6 area at that time so that McNasty can be convinced not to cash in, but unless Lambert realises the folly in allowing Nelson within 100 yards of the pitch when there''s a competitive championship game on, then there''s no chance of that.

  12.
So Hoolahan is overrated but you''re happy with McNamee playing in his position as he''s shown glimpses Boyo?

McNamee is a winger, and a pretty ineffective one at that.

He''s got chronic asthma so can''t play a full 90 minutes. (So I''ve heard)

His crosses are very often overhit or hit straight into the feet of the defender blocking his cross.

He flailes his limbs around the ball but as pointed out, if a defender just stands up to him he ends up going sideways.

His passes aren''t a patch on the ones that Hoolahan can thread through. At least he gets the weight and direction correct more times than not.

Lappin and Drury can both put in better balls from the left, Russell Martin can put in better balls from the right, and Hoolahan can put in better balls through the middle.

If Hoolahan was out injured or being rested, McNamee would be nowhere near my starting eleven. Leave him as an impact (yet to be seen regularly) sub when players are tired and might not stand up to him.
Agree agree agree agree agree agree agree.I''m not sure you should be allowed entry to Carrow Road if you can''t appreciate Hoolahan''s brilliance.

  13. This is a classic case of "You must have been watching a different game to me mate".McNamee did nothing. Yes he lifted his legs over the ball quickly. Whoop. De. Doo. NO end product from that boy. He got some good crosses in against Dereham. But then so would Chris Llewellyn have done. He is a pacey winger who doesn''t beat the last man enough. That is your lot with him. He has NONE of the invention of Hoolahan, will never replace him for craft and guile and those two passes you mentioned were over hit and far too fast for anyone to get on the end of, straight through to the keeper both times. Strength-wise he is no better than wezzer either. I think that is very much a case of square peg round hole. I would much prefer we worked on getting a decent alternative formation sorted for when Hoolahan needs a rest/is injured (God forbid) etc. rather than expect a fast but directionless winger with no end product to fill the boots of a magician. In summary: Hoolahan pulls the strings of the whole team, McNamee isn''t fit to tie Hoolahan''s shoelaces.

  14. Here you go, give them a call wouldn''t you Pete/Wiz/Someone?

    Market Drayton Magistrates'' Court

    Switchboard - 01743 458500Nicki Purcell

    Court Manager -

01743 458500It says on their website that their COurt building closing time is 4.30 pm, I''ve done a quick route finder (3 hours 48mins) and if he finishes at that time, he''ll get to Carrow Road in time to get changed and come on for the second half.Definitely will at least be names as a sub then [:)]

  15. I think most courts have press lines where journos can call and listen to recorded information, so that they don''t have to field calls from lots of different journos from different organs.. The police and fire brigades etc. all have them, so would make sense for the courts to. I''ll have a Google, see if I can find a Shropshire court-related one.. or was it some little piddly magistrates court? There would be something very funny about him being named as a sub, to only turn up at half time and be given the last 30 minutes after Jackson has shanked 6 into the upper end stand tiers....
Was this show actually any good and did anyone watch it, I remeber seeing it was on at midnight-ish on a monday night. Sounds like a sky plus job, as I cant see anyone staying awake to watch it...?
Yup, i watched it. I didn''t think it was as bad as people made it out to be TBH
Do you also rate Hollyoaks as cutting edge drama and think that Eastenders features some of the most gripping acting on television today? As I don''t think your standards when rating broadcasting can be very high. It is scripted, shot, edited and presented at a level that would be marked extremely poorly at student level, let alone being fit for professional broadcast. The one positive thing to say for it is that it doesn''t.......... get presented......... by..... ITV''s...........Matt Smith.
