  1. Oh yeah well that''s a given! But if Olsson has a choice on which club to go to surely he''d want reassurance that he''d be leaving his current employers for game time??

With Redmond its different because he is still young I''m sure he knows he has much to learn, and will be an impact sub. But Olsson isn''t "young" a la Redmond and is an international player. Surely to lure him here over the Russian club he''d want to know he''s at least going to get game time?

  2. Assuming we sign Olsson for the LB position, does anyone else find it a really strange situation to be in where we have signed potentially the first and second choice players in a position in the same transfer window??

I mean we obviously aren''t looking for a player that is "worse" than Garrido, so he can be justified as a back up. We are looking for competition in places and adding quality not quantity.

But what do you think each player was promised by Chris Hughton? Surely he can''t promise first team football, and the fact that Garrido was made permanent after playing so successfully on loan last season, surely we wouldn''t be replacing him after only signing him officially a few days ago?

What is everyones take on this??

A first post or just a new user name?

For me it would be great to see Fraser Forster back, big imposing unit.......BUT unfortunately not as good as Ruddy, just hope its all rumour despite me actually thinking there is something in this one.

Bunn did a decent job as back-up and could do the same again I''m sure, but ideally we need a more commanding (by that I mean in the box and on crosses and corners like Ruddy, crucial at this level) GK longer term...would cost though.

Its amazing how as supporters our opinions vastly change. If you search this forum for "Ruddy''s cruddy" or "John Ruddy awful" you''ll see how many supporters viewed FF as a better keeper than him just 3 short years ago!!

So what does this mean now? Is FF worse? or has he simply not developed as well as Ruddy?

He was scapegoated after the watford game. I just wonder if we''d actually give the next keeper as much grief when signing/beginning playing as we did with Ruddy, if Ruddy does in fact leave.

  4. what is stupid is that after bringing in a whole new look defence, and focusing on that area so publicly, we managed thus far to concede only 10 goals less than last season with Man City still left to play who normally knock 5 or 6 past us.

when you consider we were the highest scorers outside the top 6 last season, its frustrating to see us 18 goals behind that total when we still have the same players plus we supposedly added to that midfield quality.

i mean after all isn''t football about attacking and winning games?? scoring goals raises confidence, i know id rather the 4-3 against swansea than the hope for a goal and sit back for the rest of the game, game plan hughton sets out with every week!

If west brom watch tapes from games this season, hopefully we can surprise them by actually going for it Sunday and getting 2 goals without reply to calm the mood.

  5. Just thought I''d share this as i was scrolling through on youtube. Back at the start of the season, literally did they not only predict the wrong teams to stay up, but on a flip side they picked teams that over achieved this season like Clarke with Brom to be battered all season!

It''s just shows how unpredictable football is, as everything they are saying makes sense! We are mentioned as being fine except with one pundit!

[quote user="7rew"]I also agree with you here.

And at some of the responses:  The difference between slating Doherty/Otsemobor and Nelson/OTJ/Gill/Theo/Whaley is that the first two have had 164/83 (total 247) games to show us what they can do the others have had 1/3/4/1/5 (total 14) games to show us what they can do.  Yes, 1 of them was awful but still, be fair.

Thanks for that, i am not telling people not to slag off  certain players and which players can be slagged off. Like 7rew has posted Doc and Semmy have played plenty of games for me as a loyal fan to be critical, Although i must point out i would always support them on the pitch. I dont like so called fans forming judgement over players that have only just arrived, and then trying to produce in the current climate we find ourselves in.

These new players need time! Im glad most agree with the points and i especially hope hoolahan stays, I really hope lambert can get a settled first 11 together quickly but i do believe we have some quality players here.

    spot on mate (Y)

i agree with everything you''ve said in all post.

The hoolahan ''''get rid club'''' tbh are either bitter about a possible departure throwin the proverbial toys from the pram, or they are clearly wanting us to just play hoofball and not wait for that one special pass or through ball in every 10 attempts or so.

How good a defender was Hucks?? he wasnt, andhe couldn''t head the ball, part of being a footballer to isn''t it?? I use to laugh the number of times i used to see him try and get his chest up to the ball rather than use his head and he just couldn''t control it, so why was he treated as good as he made mistakes too??

. Like it was said by others the 2 first points spot on, and I hope Semmy comes good but he was well out of position last night and failed to do what all good defenders should time and time again and that was close down.

Would like to add that i wasn''t happy with the way spillane got himself sent off, ther was no need to do what he did, we may have Alnwick injured now, and it was 1-4 so not as if stopping them scoring would have been significantto us. It was just a reckless and blaitant foul.

  7. It really makes me laugh how we all slate players we have as not good enough or lazy, yet like Etuhu got slated he now plays regularly in a top 7 prem team!!

By the way thats statistically the 7th best team in the country, makes me laugh!!

Is there another forum board for NCFC fans cos I watch on here everyday how one minute Hooli is god, then he''s apparently transformed over night to sh!te and we shud get rid.

TO BE POSITIVE = i thought we did considerably well last night against a team that is 6th in the prem lets not forget and is having their best start to a season for yonks!! so for gods sake, not all the players are guna play well but with th saves i saw Gordon make in goal we could of had 3 ourselves!!

If it was league one their keeper wouldnt have saved those, and we wouldnt have been penetrated so easily as the opposition i.e. wycombe, yeovil etc.... wont b able to do what they did.

So shut up gettin on players backs im sure by christmas the ones hat are geting slated now will come good once they find their feet, and the ones that play well will want a move a they always do and get complacent. I think that from watchin the effort and intent of last nights play we have finally botoomed out and things are now starting from square 1 again.

Now let the slating begin s its what were all so good at on here anyway isn''t it?

  8. I applaud them 100 percent true heroes, no fear. Wish i had the guts to show my pent up frustration for ''''shambles'''' FC.

Mushroom and Tribes, you are the minority, and surely the idiots, caryy on happy clapping.

You know it was only 4 years ago i saw us beat Man U. Now there was paiion and pride there. Now we have none.

Players that want to play for NCFC, and complementing the stewards???  Gunn you are a tool!!!

  9. Birmingham fans were very graceful at Cardiff but remember, before the game evryone was in good spirits at the prospect of promotion. And after wat did they hav to moan about? If they had lost i think it would have been a different story...........As one guy walkin up the road near me was shaking peoples hands and another was belting out ''''sh!t on the river, sh!t on the river tonight...............''''

Sure if we had won and sung that they wouldnt have been so nice........

So youve just taken a story about some random player?

Is there any link between us and him?

    Does Gunn want him?

Is he even any bloody good!

    Pointless post.

yes u f**kin muppet i have taken a story based on a player that has been bendied about on this forum previously, and was shocked at 20 ears of age and how much promise he shows, how cheap he is going for.

With Mark Robins as a link to our club i thought it was a good shout, not a pointless post u moron!! would rather have him than Alan Lee as age is on his side and we lack decent academy strikers at the moment that could break through, so this guy would not hinder any potential decent youngster for that position as we have none!!

Some people are just plain narsacists and love to have a go p*ss off.

  11. These players are available for a reason.  If you Askme these are known propsects that are being turned away by other clubs.  I am not saying that they wont work here,  but Warnock,  who despite his reputation at least has that knack of getting winning promoting teams (very few have that sort of success at more than 1 club) didnt fancy maric and would rather hold onto wantaway lee as a better option,  a lee who worked hard but remains as gamble as anyone,

If it was just two and purely based on the reports the outsanding  one have consistently been for McVeigh who clearly retains a touch of class.  His signing would be a huge gamble and has already been hugely debated,  but for me IF he can get leaner then I do feel we are desperate for both a touch of quality and creativity.  He would give us that option beyond Hoola that is still going to be missing even when Whalley signs.

Beyond that I know think we probably have enough defensive cover for League one.  It worries me that Askou appears a better player than Nelson,  but with Stef, Doc Spillane and  Nelson, and with Dumic in the wings,  I think we have enough now.

So that leaves the striker Maric. Not good enough for Palace (and as such worse than Lee) but a punt for us.  Probably.   Although I would have liked to seen less of Bridges and more of the ex spurs young striker (powell??).

Only 2 - McVeigh and Maric.

you make me laugh so maric is a palace cast off as in they don''t want him and would involve no fee.

and Lee is also not good enough for palace who want money for him, and you think we should persue him. You are crazy my friend, complete contradiction of yourself!!
