1. two thirds of watfords incoming signings this summer so far:

    Almen Abdi (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Marco Cassetti (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Cristian Battocchio (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Gabriele Angella (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Marco Davide Faraoni (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Diego Fabbrini (Udinese, undisclosed),

    Javier Acuna (Udinese, undisclosed)

7 players in total!! Now imagine if we did that to Leeds how they''d react!! haha

  2.

QPR have just announced on twitter that their second signing of the summer will be announced shortly. Hooper?
I just had a look on some websites and I think it''s Dunne that is signing for QPR!!! could be wrong though.
good shout that man!! just confirmed now.

2 fingers as an insult is British and British only..

comes from the battle of Agincourt, where the French said they would take 2 fingers from the British archers as keepsakes after winning the battle, as they fled from the battle field some time later the Archers showed 2 fingers as a pee take.

in any other country its not considered an insult.
Bit OT, but I''m afraid to tell you there isn''t much factual evidence this is true. It''s more of a myth which was passed down the generations
factual or not. Here in the states its a british thing and only the middle finger is deemed inappropriate. So he''s right!

  4.
Pretty sure the general opinion was Dwight Gayle went for £8.5 - £9.5 million. There was such a massive fuss when he signed and a lot of journos were quoting that figure. No we don''t know who they were competing with.... but we do know Hooper has been targeted by a lot of clubs.I therefore think it''s reasonable to presume (added with the rejected £5 /£6 million bids) that Lennon is hoping to shift Hooper for a lot more than he''s worth.
I never saw 9 million!!! It''s more like half that. People exaggerate these things to prove a point!!
Lets just see shall we? All of this second guessing is rubbish. Hughton knows at times two strikers will be required. We''ll need four even with only one up front. Playing one up front will require us to have an AM which in all likelihood will be Hoolahan first and foremost. If Hoolahan gets injured we are looking at drawing players from other positions which we may or may not be able to do - or Butterfield if he is rated by Hughton. If we only have three strikers we are treading very dangerously. One serious injury and we are down to two - two is simply not enough. One booking away from having no choice. You always want choice and competition. Apart from anything else right now we are linked with three strikers. We may not want all of them but some reports suggest we almost have the Italian and are still hunting. At this point it is worth being open minded.
We could always get Darel Russell back and play him up front again.

haha forgot about that!!!!!! that feels like light years ago

  6.
Some good signings to date with RVW Redmond and Olsson albeit a bit of impatience and possible frustration about some of the other names being mooted who have not signed on the dotted line. This made me reflect upon that summer ahead and during our league 1 campaign still only 4 season ago behind this current one. Remember the signings Holt was the gem but others on and around that time Theo the aussie goalie, Rose and Oli Johnson from the mighty Stockport, Nelson from Hartlepool [ he did us a good job in league 1 I know], Mac Namee, Cody mac Donald from  non league This really does show how far we have come in a very short period and puts some of our short term frustration about midfielders and strikers who we want etc etc into perspective
Not to be a pedantic ass but Rose came on loan half way through the season, and Cody was there from our championship relegation the season before. Jus'' saying'' :P

I remember we signed Simon Whaley only to see him released soon after. How short was his stay?

  7.
Wish I had known you needed one. I was fortunate enough to be back home last week and picked one up at the store. Interesting that at £45 each, the are cheaper than a Houston MLS shirt at $140 each !
WTF!!! $140!!??? I was in Houston a few weeks ago actually! Played a show at the Concert Pub North - cool area! I am Seattle based. I wish I''d have know, would have helped.

How costly are we talking to ship? If its over $50 i might just wait til some comes to visit

  8. I have tried looking at the online Canary store but cannot find answers. Does anyone know how to get a replica shirt if you live outside the UK?

I am based in America now and can''t seem to find anything on google. I know there is a few canary fans living in the states too. Wondered if anyone knew how to get this seasons shirt is you can''t actually get to the club shop?

  9. Hey all,

In the last 2 seasons i can think of Johnson and Whittaker coming to us on Bosmans, (can''t think of any others?) but it got me thinking as we paid no transfer fee for these 2 and they are surely now worth a few million each at least if we were to sell them.

So I wondered who does everyone consider was our best free transfer signing value wise?

It''s crazy that out of that team only Ruddy and Martin are left from our Championship season, and if some would put Turner ahead of Martin, then just Ruddy. We are evolving quickly. Hopefully not too quick :/

  11.
Spanish, it''s the ruthless world of the premiership. These players rightfully so want to play at the highest level. We are seen as an excellent stepping stone now. That is our unique selling point (sorry for the sales term). To attract the best, we have to use this to our advantage, a good year here and a top 10 finish, and RVW, Fer, Toby Alderwhatsit etc will be next seasons Michu''s and Benteke''s. No problems if we have to sell at that point and double/ treble our money.
Very well put I can see your thinking. It''s a shame that by stepping up a level in this manner we are going to almost certainly become a selling club once again though. Fortunately/hopefully for astronomical sums of money on our terms, but i really have enjoyed the last 4 years of keeping our best players and cutting off the dead wood each season. sad but yet happy times ahead i guess!

  12.
Love how on Skybet the other options for Alderwiereld are Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkeusen Bayern Munich!

No odds market for Leroy Fer strangely enough...
I genuinely don''t see him signing for us. Plus one from Turner or Bennett would probably hand in a transfer request if he signed. I hold out hope for Fer though!

  13. i feel like those 3 plus toivonen are all mentioned as possibilities for us but just so they can try and engineer bigger moves for themselves. i want players that want to come to NCFC and it doesn''t feel like any of Hooper, Fer, Toivonen and Anderwerield? even really want to come to Carrow Rd.

  14.
Miserable gits, whats wrong with making a bit of noise? Its not like anyone is directly saying "All you new players will never be as good as Grant Holt" is it?
agree with Morty 100%! Some people realy do over think these things. show some appreciation, these are paid professionals, i highly doubt RVW will even notice as he''ll be so pumped only 9 minutes into his debut!!

A first post or just a new user name?

For me it would be great to see Fraser Forster back, big imposing unit.......BUT unfortunately not as good as Ruddy, just hope its all rumour despite me actually thinking there is something in this one.

Bunn did a decent job as back-up and could do the same again I''m sure, but ideally we need a more commanding (by that I mean in the box and on crosses and corners like Ruddy, crucial at this level) GK longer term...would cost though.
Its amazing how as supporters our opinions vastly change. If you search this forum for "Ruddy''s cruddy" or "John Ruddy awful" you''ll see how many supporters viewed FF as a better keeper than him just 3 short years ago!!

So what does this mean now? Is FF worse? or has he simply not developed as well as Ruddy?

He was scapegoated after the watford game. I just wonder if we''d actually give the next keeper as much grief when signing/beginning playing as we did with Ruddy, if Ruddy does in fact leave.
Ruddy had a very shaky start though, and has improved constantly since. Forster left big gloves to fill and people were quite anxious about Ruddy''s capability of filling them. What else is there to say other than that he proved that he was capable, and eventually beyond capable?
Agreed.

But my question was mostly about FF''s capability. The fact that Ruddy is deemed better now in reverse to 3 years ago, would suggest FF hasn''t improved at the same rate JR has. So should we be going for someone who is younger like McCarthy or a little more experienced? As from what a few are saying it seems that FF hasn''t been able to match JR''s ability in their eyes since leaving us.

  16.
Well perhaps that is the idea, Surman would seem like one the obvious candidates to sacrifice for room in the 25 and perhaps signing a left back who can play left wing is the obvious way to make room in the squad without leaving yourself short on the left.
I actually quite like Surman but the reality is that he is championship standard - just like Simeon Jackson and Elliott Ward - and he is way too injury prone to be worth keeping in the final 25 as a squad player.
Wouldn''t surprise me to see Ayala, Barnett, and Fox deemed surplus to requirements too, either sold or loaned out, although we need more depth in the middle before letting Fox go. Butterfield will probably be out on loan again too.
You could be right. Although someone made an argument that Surman is one of the very few technically skilled players that we have in the same ilk as Hoolahan with the ability for a threaded pass. He played a lot in our first Prem season, and scored vital goals too. Had it not been for a bad injury, he surely would have featured more last season too, so i don''t believe that he is Championship standard. More down to bad luck than anything. I suppose only CH knows the answer to all this!

Plus didn''t he sign a new contract only last summer? I think his absence through injury, and thus lack of game time is the only thing that has sparked off people suggesting he would leave. I don''t see him going anywhere tbh

  17.
Martin Olsson has also played left midfield a fair bit for Blackburn, particularly under Sam Allardyce when he broke into the team. Could it be that Olsson would also serve as competition/cover for left midfield?
Possibly NewBoy, but don''t we now have Pilks, Redmond and Surman in that position? 4 would be a bit much

  18. That''s what i was thinking Morison! Garrido earned it from last season and pre season isn''t enough to truly reflect that that should change. So Olsson would surely know he''s coming in as 2nd choice to try and dislodge Garrido, right? I wonder what the Russian club are offering opportunities wise for him.
