1. So much better today than last week my god. It''s a different side from that Hull match. I''m still looking forward to seeing Hooper and what he can do, I fear we aren''t going to do anything but frustrate RVW. He doesn''t seem to be allowed to be involved much, and we are screaming out for that link up AM/SS player!

2.
It''s not a one or the other only choice. We were very entertaining 2 seasons ago and finished with a few more points but one spot lower in the table.

I''d take that any day over last season''s yawnfest. It wasn''t very exciting cheering for Norwich last year.

If I wantto support a boring successful team, I''ll tune into the Chess Network.
^^ Another point people disregard when praising Hughton over Lambert. Yes we did finish higher last season, but with less points than Lambert got.

The season before 44 points would have seen us finish lower than 12th. It was much tighter last season.

I wish we could see more entertaining play like 2 seasons ago. If this isn''t a transitional period (which I fear now it isn''t) and this is the way we are playing football. It will be hard to keep the interest, as it really is not too far away from watching a clock tick, or paint dry.

3. One thing I''ll definitely agree with you on is the statements other clubs have made. Once Rodgers left, Laudrup was and is most definitely one of those managers that sees the Swans as a stepping stone. He is ambitious and I expect him to move on at some point.
Same could be said for Pochettino? at Southampton, I can''t see him thinking "this is my club for good now." Thats probably the difference between him and his predecessor, Adkins is similar to Hughton in that way. Southampton was probably his peak.
This is possibly part of the reason Holloway - Palace, Bruce - Hull will fail, because they haven''t managed bigger clubs and have been around the same standard long enough to "just do enough" in the past, to stay at the current level. Low Prem, high Champ level.
Interesting point this one. Never considered it before. But it makes a lot of sense.

4.
Don''t worry OP, you''re doing quite well for an American.
Haha! I''m born and bred Caister-on-sea, Great Yarmouth first 18 years of my life! But thanks anyway. Guess I just couldn''t tell from watching the games, and all the pre match analysis of formations and line ups must have been incorrect from the pundits etc. Either that or we are truly awful at holding our lines as someone mentioned.

5.

Funny how different people see things differently isn''t it, I''d have said what we''ve played for a large percentage of games is more of a 4-4-1-1 than a 4-2-3-1.
Thats how I see it too. We generally play two wide players (apart from Hull obviously)
That''s kind of what I''ve always seen. Mostly 4-4-1-1, I feel quite stupid now that somehow all these experts are on here and knew different to the rest of us..... This post was solely prompted by seeing the line ups for both teams in the Arsenal vs. Fenerbahce Champions League fixture the other night.

6. Yeah, I do love Hooly. Maybe see a slight change in formation for say the 2nd half of a game depending on how we are doing. With reverting to a 4-4-1-1 and bringing him on if needed. I just love how on paper we have all these options.
That''s without even mentioning Elmander who appears to have done well tonight, and Hooper who isn''t fit yet. With the proper research, tactics and attitude, we have just as good a chance as anyone below the top 6 to finish even higher than last season!

7. I have never worried about not playing 2 strikers, I think as long as there is service and good support, one is just fine.
So with there being so much debate about whether Pilks should now start over Redmond, how about trying Redmond in the hole? If it doesn''t work by half time, we have so many options to alter the line up without having to sub anymore than say one player.
how about this;
Ruddy
Whittaker Turner Bassong    Olsson
Johnson Fer
Snodgrass    Redmond  Pilkington
         RVW
If it doesnt work out we could always revert to 4-5-1 or bring Howson on from the bench in place of Redmond or Pilks. Thoughts?

8.
Exactly. We had 4 shots all game. Don''t think their keeper actually made a save. They had about 65% possession as well as nearly four times as many shots. It''s not the results that anger me it''s the manner of the performance.
A-f*ckin-men someone who gets it. I have been saying this all week. It seems facts on here only apply to sometimes to those that try and say we are wrong to question the way the team goes about its business.
Yes it was a point. But with 2 shots on target against Everton, we were fortunate to have a 100% return rate. This won''t always be the case.

9.
Just goes to show that we can score goals for fun whenever we like, but until we can sort our defence out we''re always going to be vulnerable. We need a manager who can organise the defence.
Agree totally. Although there are many on here defending (excuse pun) that that is Hughton''s area of expertise! So happy we scored goals. A little concerned we conceded 3 at home to a team a few leagues below, when we weren''t chasing the game.
Many would argue that the back 4 playing should be our first choice back 4. Is it worrying?

10.
That bloke Pilkington has scored. And what''s happened to the goal music :(I bet it''s that Houghtons idea!!! [:@]
And that awful terrible player of ours Hoolahan has been credited with the assist. Well thats it, way to positive. Why is he not on the bench, where many believe he should be?

11.
I''m watching a wall dry - it''s B&Q Magnolia paint versus Homebase "Home of Colour" Magnolia paint.  Pretty entertaining, relatively speaking.
Nice one! Glad you''re having fun ;)
Also didn''t know David Bell was at Notts County now with Fozzy. Both look just as bad as I remember!

12. On an OT note; watching the Liverpool vs Notts County game, and One of County''s midfielders Labadie? looks very good, just left Luis Alberta eating his dust, won a free kick and absolutely smashed the free kick at Mignolet. Not saying we should sign him of course. Just nice to see a player a few leagues down power through supposed higher quality players!
Sterling looks amazing too.

13.
Will Hughton and his cohorts'' position be untenable?  Poor performance against a 10-man relegation favourite team on Saturday followed by an early exit in the cup would surely mean the end?
Not if the performance is good. If we give it a go, and lose then theres no reason he should be given any grief whatsoever!

14.

Are you suggesting that drawing 0-0 at Old Trafford is as poor a result as losing 1-0 at Hull?
No I''m saying criticizing a manager for being "too defensive" away from home is sillyMourinho set his team up defensivelyTactically they only tried to break on the counterInstead of bringing on Mata he brought on Mikel and AzpilicuetaHe leaves with a point. A point which may be the difference in who wins the title.
Still. They were drawing, not losing. A didn''t have a man advantage. It''s a totally incomparable scenario.

15.
this is this ironic thing, that a side that sets itself up away from home for a 0-0, so rarely gets one?...if we were good at it I could understand it, as we''re not we may aswell go for it and try and win 4-3 ?!?
Always been a fan of the Kevin Keegan approach! Score more than the other team! haha

16. Bunn
Olsson (if fit enough)
R. Bennett
Turner
Whittaker
Murphy (Pilks if fit, and give the young lad a run out for half an hour as a sub)
Johnson
Fer
Howson
Snodgrass
Becchio
I don''t see the point in playing Fox at all as I don''t think there is anything he could do to get a foothold in the first team anymore.
Bench: Murphy, Bassong (get a run out as a sub if fit), Butterfield, RVW, Nash, Tettey, Elmander
I still think most of the other younger lads are too far away, and I''d like to see a morale boosting performance from most of our first teamers.

17.
Nothing personal Seattle, I have read your posts and you use the same arguements as those posters with an anti Hughton agenda, harking back to last season, using the Hull result as the "hook" for another attack on Hughton annd rolling that defeat in with our poor run at the end of last season. I understand you were upset at the Hull performance, so was I, where we differ is that I did not get bent out of shape about it, and I prefer to judge how our season may pan out on the basis of say ten games rather than two games........
Without meaning to offend. You strike me as the kind of person that is happy to sit back and hope for the best. I do not put a spin on anything like the other posters you are trying to compare me with. The results you speak of, the run in last season, and the way we have started this one aren''t based on how things might be. They simply are fact. Theres no spinning that.
I take a philosophy on life, that everybody is in control of their actions and you make of something what you put into it. Therefore I look at everything the same way. If you set out to work hard and get stuck in, you will be successful. If you set out with negativity, a failing mentality, and a lack of being able to perform the task at hand, and when you fail you look to others around you and blame them and excuse make all the time, expect to fail.
We are, and have been for a while the latter. The word "may" is a negative word. You must say "will" as that is a winners mentality. Some people differ on opinions because some of us simply do not accept to watch life, and the things that go on around, pass us by. I have seen something I don''t like for what I consider to now be at its maximum life span, so I would like a change, to be proactive. Not to bury my head in the sand and ignore it, and hope somehow something magical will change it.
Genuinely this is why I get so frustrated. Just because everyone had a holiday during June, and July do not tell me its 2 games, because you know just as well as I do, that no one would be posting the way they have been had this have only been the first 2 games we''d seen this style of play. It''s just silly to say that. Almost insulting. I hope you and the others are right and suddenly we see a surge of attacking flair, I like Chris Hughton, like I still like Gunny, but leopards, their spots and all that.
I guess we''ll readdress this all around the 10-12 game mark. If we have more points than games played, then that''d be great, hopefully we do get so see some football played in that time too. Would make a nice change.

18. Probably a bit of both at times. I''m thrilled he''s still here, as I''ve always liked him. He offers something that no one else in the team currently does, and that is the willingness to thread a pass, or I like the way he sometimes can pull a 180 when backed into a defender and is so good at trying to nip away and win a free kick or 2 just wide of the box.
He is a bit light weight, but I think its true when its been said that our best passing football seems to materialise more often when he is on the pitch. I know he makes mistakes, but I do like when he tries something, and it comes off. I loved the goal he set up for Pilks at home to Wigan last season, as he went down under the challenge but somehow managed to get back on his feet to thread it for Pilks to run onto. Being so small must have a good low centre of gravity!

19.

i want premiership football.. if we do that by defending for 38 games good.
What''s the point?

Who seriously enjoys watching us play at the moment?

WBA & man city aside, I haven''t enjoyed a game for a long long time.
Thats kinda where I''ve been coming from. Although I went about it the wrong way yesterday, hopefully McNally will get Hughton to rectify his approach! It is a sad way to play football, simply do just enough to get by. How is that entertainment? When its a sport!

20.
Deep down Seattle is a Hughton out kind of guy, he tries to come across all reasonable, but look closely at his posts and you will see a pattern emerging....
And there was me thinking we made friends earlier.... Oh well.
I explained this SOB yesterday i would have fired everyone at the club the mood I was in. Today I feel bad for taking that stance. I want the style of play sorted, if Chrissy boy can do it. Great, fandabby-dozey, if not then there will come a point that someone else will need to.
Just to put my own record straight.
If you are willing to judge me by my past post pattern (great alliteration), then why is Hughton advocated of being judged by his past season tactics? No such thing as double standards I''m afraid. I''ve apologised, explained. If CH comes out, apologises and explains, or better yet rectifies it on the pitch, great. We all move on.

21.
Seattle Canary seems to have an opinion about anything and everything. I dont normally dig exiled canaries myself however watching it on the tv and listening on radio , internet ect is a lot different to seeing it live , sorry but its true. Now dont tell me crap u see more on tv. yawn. I am  exiled myself living in the north of england. However ive been to the first two games and will be at the saints game. When I dont go to games I reserve judgement on places like this ..................
Doesn''t everyone have an opinion about anything and everything? Thats life you are talking about right there. Whether that person pushes it as fact is a different matter. If I''m wrong, I''m happy to admit I''m wrong and be humbled whilst doing so.
I understand reserving judgement on here. Fine. But please give me more into your insights, what more do you see "being there" that I don''t see on TV? Having been to every home game for years and then watching on TV, the only difference is the atmosphere in which I sit. I even have the benefit of replays. Please enlighten me.

22.
I still think Palace and Hull are very likely to drop. One game does not make a trend. Cardiff will probably be OK, so get used to seeing their mad owner with his shirt tucked in all primly quite often.
I''m not by any means trying to discriminate, but I really don''t like the thought that next season could still see only 18 English teams in The Premiership. It just seems wrong having Swansea and Cardiff in there. Why are they allowed in but Celtic aren''t? I don''t get it.

23.
Last season''s displays (baring in mind it was our highest finish for 2 decades) are irrelevant.

I''m confident we will play more expansive, positive football, once we have a full quota of players to chose from.

We have bought real quality in RVW, Fer and Redmond. Hooper is a gamble and Olsson could make a real impact. but we will have to go through a transition period to get to where we want to be.

Rome wasnt built in a day
I hope so CDM! I want us to succeed as much as you do so I hope your faith isn''t misplaced!
Just remember last season we didn''t finish 11th having been there for a sustained time, it was a fortunately strong and possibly deceiving finish. Only 5 points off 17th. Good job we beat WBA and Citeh isn''t it :)
