I agree with Jas, Drury just isn''t good enough, i''d prefer Lappin down the wing
he''s gutless compared to most defenders in the league, and far too soft - and he''s supposed to be our captain, what a joke.
Drury has been one of many under performers this season, and being brutally honest I wouldn''t mind if Drury or any of the following were replaced:
Gallagher, Doherty, Hughes, Etuhu, Fotheringham, Croft, Thorne.
Clear out the time wasters and bring in some new players please!

When I first read this I thought ''ha ha ha, Sunderland are having a bubble aren''t they!?''
but seriously, it does show that Keane & Co have high ambitions if they think they can attract players like Forlan to a fan-less grotty club in the North! I know they have the advantage of an ex-Man U manager with lots of big contacts and a rich board behind them.
however, should we be aiming higher in our transfers? so far Grant (who I know has little to go on) has been looking at the smaller clubs in the SPL (except Celtic with Marshall) and unwanted Championship and lower league players - Brown, Ostemobor, etc...
perhaps Grant can use his contacts to get us someone half decent from a team above us not below? Carlos Tevez maybe? (!)

In my opinion, ITV manage to ruin any sport they cover so rest in peace The FA Cup!

ooohhh cock! -
Who is this hardhouse geezer eh? you''re just copying my posts except your''s are more Channel 4 and mine are very BBC, if you catch my drift!!!
I started a discussion on Colin which was followed by your discussion on Colin, then I start one on Fotheringham and you do the same.
(only jealous that my discussions didn''t get as many replies as yours!)
ps. Colin is good, Hughes is pants, Fotheringham is.. er... hard to say, he''s invisible on the pitch.
-
see I still think its very hard to say what type of player he is, because we haven''t seen him play enough
bit silly me asking the question then I guess!?
-
What do people make of Fozzy? and do you see him being signed permanently?
When he first came it caused quite a stir, everyone thinking he was the next Gascgoine complete with a nifty trick to beat his marker.
My impression is firstly that he hasn''t had a huge opportunity to shine, but on the occasions he does play he is too quiet and anonymous (bit like Robinson I guess). I haven''t seen the Fozzy Flick and whilst that''s not something important it might as least help me realise which one he is on the pitch! I was hoping he would replace Etuhu in the starting line up but if anything it has made Etuhu make a tiny little bit more effort.
I think he''ll go at the end of his short contract - we need a more dynamic midfielder.

ah so clever, what fools that makes we who reply - bow and pray to sheded everyone
Notts is a dump, Forset fans living in the past

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
and McVeigh to Charlton - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
I expect tonight he''ll be eating pie and mash, followed by chips and gravy, then a kebab, burger and chips, and a soda stream to round it all off
after all, he might be playing tomorrow and doesn;t want to go hungry
-
I have given Colin a lot of praise this year I think he has been our best defender
however, since Hughes has been at right back the results have improved so you can''t argue against that too much
to be frank, I couldn''t give a monkeys who plays so long as we keep winning
Where would Worthy have played him?
1/2 Wide right
Evens Would never have played him under the age of 23
5/2 Released him to Peterborough
3/1 Right Wing Back
7/1 Centre Half
nice one!
he''d never have picked him what with all that fancy showboating he does, its disgraceful really!

Peter Thorne -
by the sound of things, Darren Huckerby would like his statue outside the ground
i wouldn''t begrudge this, he is a cult hero after all...
-
maybe he means his temper - Henry hardly ever loses his temper, whereas good old Hucks loses his at least once a match
he could even be referring to wages!
-
I heard someone saying that Dean Ashton was back at Norwich to see us beat Birmingham last week - I thought fair enough, and not much else.
On Saturday I saw him for myself in his pimped up car with some bird in the front. The fact that he has come to 2 games in a row makes it worthwhile knowing.
He probably just has friends or family or has come back for a week to meet the lads. However, my imagination says what if its something else? What if West Ham want to loan him off when he starts training again to get him back to match fitness? Be nice wouldn''t it!
Can''t really see anything happening, after all the season is almost over and we''ll be playing West Ham next yr!!
How about:
John Terry of Chelsea battles with Chris Brown of Norwich during the FA Cup 5th Round match between Chelsea and Norwich at Stamford Bridge.

its funny''s cousin!

Terry generously hides Brown''s camel toe
or
Terry makes up for lost balls following his injury spell

with a prospect as bright as Martin it does make me wonder why they haven''t agreed a contract yet
smells fishy to me
-
thing is we completely fell 4 it - for the last 20 mins they were only interested in wasting time and we helped them - when teams do that you should just get with your own game, comment to the ref about time wasting, and let them show themselves up
instead we argued with them, the ref, made silly tackles, and it fed into Derby''s hands - that''s exactly what they wanted becuase it wasted more time
You see it to often in this league - and its always the teams at the top that do it well. It doesn''t work so good in the Premiership which is one of the reasons why people like that usually come straight back down. speaking of which - see u soon Watford!!!
-
do you think they''d notice if we brought him back, told Orient they could have him for free, and then sent Thorne there in a taxi? We could change Thorne''s name by depoll, dye his hair, etc...
that reminds me - did anyone hear that the Man U supporters club put Darren Fletcher up for sale on ebay for a pound last summer? they received no bids...
-
This has been our biggest problem since we entered the Premiership - we can''t take good set pieces, we can''t defend them either
look at the Chelsea game - it was set pieces that made the difference between us (not really counting the last 2 goals). We must have 1 player who can take a freekick surely? Why is it people like Safri and Drury take the corners and free kicks and people like Croft or Fozzy or Lappin haven''t been given the opportunity? They must be really bad at them in training to not even warrant a go at a match.
And defending - its simple. Our squad is too light-weight. Dublin and Doc are the only guys big enough to cope with Championship attackers - Drury, Shackell, Colin, Safri, etc... just haven''t got the height or muscle.
anyone know how Chadwick is with set piece''s? tell me he''s good., even if you''re lying!
-
predictable response from someone there - i did say I wasn''t having a go - rarely see the players off the field so just wanted to mention it really
i didn''t go to the game yesterday, although I am a season ticket holder - i''ve got bird flu or something!! first home game I''ve missed in about 3 years
Hendo''s dad is Scottish - bloody nice bloke as well
I'd replace these 4 for starters.

Martin looks the business for me, I''d like to see him start in the first 11 next yr if he can progress like he has done so far. His technique and ability to read the game are second to no one else in the team - not even Earnie or Hucks.
He lacks experience and know-how (which is why the defenders made mince-meat out of him yest) but that will come with first team action.
