One point that I have not seen mentioned on here but go a lot of attention on Sky was that MK Dons were playing a much weakened team with several first choice players out, including Easter , their top goalscorer The fact that they outplayed us for the last 70 minutes shows how mediocre the current team is. -
Only three clean sheets because of the opposition. When they play MK and Charlton or anyone with firepower it will be different story. The two matches I have seen Nelson play he has been very poor indeed....at least three basic mistakes each time...punished by Col U, NOT punshed by Walsall, but just as easily could have been. -
Just watched the horror show. What strikes me is the total lack of communication AFTER the goals have gone in. No anger,no shouting matches, no support for each other, no chin up encouragement, they all just walk away heads down. Looks like a total lack of team spirit and fight. -
He has got to get it sorted for the four games in 12 days...if there is not a massive improvement in results/performance ie unbeaten in those four, he should do the honourable thng and walk. -
Just realised someone else has done this far better ... -
Using the Leicester match on February 16th as the watershed moment in his time at the club ( Hucks at the supermarket, Henry on the wing, 4-0 no show ) the before and after figures make painful reading BEFORE ...PLAYED 19 WON 9 DRAWN 7 LOST 3 PTS 34 AFTER....PLAYED 40 WON 11 DRAWN 6 LOST 23 PTS 39 I admit that this is a very random pairing of statistics to Roeders disadvantage but that day at Leicester always sticks in my mind as the first time I began to question his policies and selection .....and the attitude of the team.....This is just the statistical evidence that we have shown relegation form since that day. -
Only Charlton worse than us at the moment...Forest on a run like us last season, Saints better than us away but worse at home ( and may well get weaker in the transfer window ) , Donny with three wins recently , Watford looked similar to us at Reading. Next 3 league games all vital to survival against relegation rivals....AND how we use the transfer window ( or don''t) -
Ched Evans on a half season loan-unlikely....Andy Bishop from Bury as a more realistic target. Martin Taylor from Birmingham or Linvoy Primus from Pompey. -
Great report...says it all really. Crofty was a big miss today, but they would still have found a way to lose even with him playing. Palace fans I spoke to reckoned their team played poorly and were a bit lucky. -
Just back from the Palace match. Lots of pretty passing to no effect, stupid goals conceded through poor marking, Lita misses another sitter ...9 defeats in the last ten away ...the team is lacking in strength and balance and we are right in a relegation scrap. I cannot think of a single player who played well today...Palace were poor but had players who did their basic jobs effectively . Yet again Norwich were a collection of individuals who couldn''t cope when the going got tough, just like at Cov, Derby, Wednesday , Watford, Burnley , MK Dons, Southampton etc etc -
Have a look at the blow by blow account of a direct rivals AGM from the other night http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4000947.See_today_s_Daily_Echo_for_a_blow_by_blow_account_of_Saints__AGM/ Note the coin throwing and the former manager abusing the chairman......apparently NCFC got a mention in a question asking why we were able to still get good crowds despite being as bad as they are. -
Played in a home win over West Ham 10/11/76, a midweek 3-1 defeat at Bristol City 20/11/76 and a 1-1 home draw against Villa on the 27th. My book says we did not play again till 18/12 which is why he only had 3 games. It credits him with setting up Boyer''s goal in the Villa match. We had just signed Viv Busby and he had made a great start and Ossie was to fill in for his injury...our only other striker to partner Phil Boyer was the very inexperienced Roger Gibbins, a free transfer from Spurs. My memory is of a slightly overweight player with classy touch but immobile. -
Kevin Drinkell for me....followed by Leon McKenzie....and Roger Gibbins ....pretty random selection

Mawhinney''s position as a FL representative on the FA board will be taken by Norwich chief executive Neil Doncaster, 37. However, there is an annual ''get-in clause'' for Mawhinney if he finds his influence is waning. FL regulations give the chairman an annual opportunity to take up one of their two seats on the FA board.
He''s going up in the world - as the Mail reported today. -
Resent the ban....but can manage 90 minutes plus half time ...even extra time if necessary but had to admit defeat at Rochdale and missed the penalty shoot out. Listened to it with some locals in the same situation. Best away ground Barnsley where you can nip out for a crafty fag and the stewards ignore it. No such luck at home! -
I remember that we could have been 3 or 4 down at half time and he was going past people and doing short passing interchanges which cut through our defence time after time. Also, he seemed to be popping up everywhere across the midfield. Guess they must have had other decent players but he was one of the very few players who I looked in the programme to find out a bit more at half time, mainly cos I''d never heard of him before. -
The best away player I saw all last season at Carrow Road when Blackpool tore us apart - so pleased we have signed him. -
We were linked with Halls in Worthy''s time when he was at Stoke- a right back who started at Arsenal, I think. -
Always recall the last two games of the 92-93 season......a penalty gift from Liverpool when David James kicked a Norwich player after being challenged at a corner which gave us a 1-0 win and the tense last day at relegated Middlesborough when we got the point we needed for third place with a 3-3 draw, Andy Johnson got 2 I think. Even then we had to wait two weeks to find out if we were in Europe and it depended on the results of 2 cup finals which Arsenal had to win.....it was a real achievement in those days to get into Europe !

November 1973 1-3 home defeat to Everton....cushions on the pitch , Saunders takes off a striker and brings on a defender when we''re losing, then resigns immediately after the game. 2 classic own goals and we''re bottom of the league. Bit like October 2007 really (without the cushions) though we were 1 division higher back then . -
And me ...less than 10 miles from home! -
I was there too...first cup run ever for me ended at Q-F stage....we could have gone all the way if we had beaten relegation bound Brighton. Always remember Case fouled our player for the winning goal. Dreadful old fleapit of a ground ...many Cup shockers since but that one sticks in the throat more than most for me . -
Scores within three minutes on his international debut...just like he did for us. Brilliant finish.... -
As above and the fact that we were in the top half of the table after Cardiff for a few hours due to the midday kick off. The best 45 minutes for me was the second half at Barnsley ...3 goals , created chance after chance and actually looked like a decent team.
Are we too much of a lightweight in the mid-field?
