  1. I know this chap criticised us in some way when he played for Walsall a few years back, but he looks a great prospect.

If Watford don''t get promoted, he could be someone worth taking a gamble in? Looked class apart in playoffs v Leicester and looks powerful/fast. Unlikely we could afford another big nam striker after RVW and think we need someone with pace to replace Jackson. What do people think?

  2. I would be surprised if, out of QPR, Villa, Reading and Wigan , two of those reach the amount of points we are on now! They are pretty much all playing each other or playing the big clubs! They have 20/23/24 points after 28 games. Not sure why they should suddenly get a higher ratio..although I feel QPR might have a little run.

If we can get three points at home to reading and Southampton we will be safe. As someone earlier said, we should be looking at teams above us seeing if we can catch them. Stoke, FUlham etc are no better than us.

  3. Just considering the following factors, I think we could be close to signing Graham, perhaps depending on Swansea signing their own new striker...

    1. His other ''options'' are dwindling, Newcastle signed Gouffran and Sunderland close with Zarate.

    2. We haven''t heard a response to the 5 million bid publicly, whereas Celtic rejected the bd for Hooper, nothing has been said about DG. But...crucially, Hughton has admitted a bid. Therefore, have they tentatively accepted, with the clause that they get a new or in ( kenwyne jones)

    3. It''s all gone quiet, whilst the Hooper rumour dominates the news. We all know McNally likes to do quiet business where he can.

Personally, would prefer graham for 5 million than hooper for 7 or 8 million...would love to get both mind!!!

  4. Just looking at the next 6 league fixtures, they look absolutely vital...

Obviously, every game is big but the next 6 will leave us with 9 games remaining - depending on our results we could either be in a huge relegation dogfight ( and low on confidence) or pushing towards the magic 40 points mark.

I think now is the time to spend some money, for me there is no risk - fail and we sell them again in summer. Win, and we get 70 million!!! No brainier.

Tottenham at home - we have a good record against Spurs, but they have been excellent away under AVB. Would be delighted with a point, but with our poor confidence I see a defeat.

QPR away - they have picked up recently and doing well under redknapp. Vital we don''t lose, and although we doubled them last season a point would be ok.

Fulham at home - must win, simple as.

Everton at home - a good team, Everton, but we tend to do okay against them. A point would be ok, but if we bet Fulham and are confident we could nick all 3 again.

Man utd away - defeat (realistically)

Southampton home - hoping the ridiculous decision to sack Adkins will backfire, another must win in our quest...

So, over these 6 games I think we should be aiming for at least 8 points (2 win, 2 draw, 2 defeat)

That would leave us on 34 points after 29 games and some winnable games left, with a little confidence left - and hopefully a new signing or two to give the lads a boost!

  5. Hi all

I bought two tickets for special train return from Norwich to Peterborough tomorrow, leaves Norwich at 11.20 and returns at 6.10 from Peterborough.

I am going with my whufc supporting friend and he has since decided that he would like to watch their game in a pub in Peterborough before we leave - so have booked an open return.

Note - no alcohol available on special train. But, if ur not bothered about that or travelling with a kid, contact me on he message board - I can pass tickets on at train station in morn.

As I say, 15 quid for the two ticket sim which is half the 30 I paid.

  6. Finally, Norwich City are not a ''nice'' team of nearlies.

The team we have now has a confidence, almost an arrogance in themselves. It is a belief that is hard to find. Our players now actually know that they are good players or have bag loads of potential. It is a good form of arrogance - not complacent but just belief.

Players like Bassong, Garrido and Tettey ooze quality, but others now have that belief that being a regular premier league player and team gives them. Players such as Johnson, Pilkington and Snodgrass simply believe in themselves. I think Hughton has given them this confidence. And this also emanates from our captain, Grant Holt. He has shown what hard work can do and he is now a confident PL player. No defenders want to come up against him.

Believe you, me. This team is going places if they get the chance to grow and improve together.

  7. I have been having a think that many of our players must now be worth quite a bit, as we have a young and talented squad.  This is how much I think a variety of players are worth in today''s market...I am missing out some.Ruddy - £7 million.  England''s 2nd choice keeper.  If De Gea was bought for £18 million, he is probably as good as him but no-one spends that on a Norwich player.  Absolutely improved beyond recognition.Bassong - £5 million.  Not sure how much we bought him for, but he has to be worth about this amount.Tettey - £5 million - a genuine powerhouse.  Committed and quality in every way.  Think we only paid £1.5m for him tooJohnson - £4million - if he had a better range of passing, he would be the complete defensive midfielder - has improved beyond recognition.Pilks - £10 million. Genuinely...if Matt Jarvis is worth £9 million to a team who got relegated.Snods - £5 million E Bennett - £3 millionHoolahan - £3 million - would be worth 5x that if he was 25 and not 30Howson - £ 5 million - I know he is out of favour, but I still think he has a huge part to play.Isn''t it great to have such a young, hungry squad?

  8. I have to say I have been so impressed with Whittaker since he returned from injury.  He has now played 4 games including in the cup v Spurs, and we have only conceded one goal.He is tall, athletic and good in the tackle.  I think Russell Martin is also quality, so we are quite blessed in the RB area, and obviously both Whittaker and Martin can adapt to other positions too.Interesting that the last 3 league games have been with Hughton''s signings in the back 4 = 3 clean sheets.  Along with Tettey, these are fantastic additions to our squad.  Being a defender himself, he obviously knows how to make a team solid.

  9. I think Hughton should be a bit radical and make a few changes for the game on Saturday - just to freshen things up as much as anything..RuddyR Martin  R Bennett   Bassong   GarridoTettey  FoxE Bennett   Butterfield   PilkingtonHoltSubs - Bunn, Barnett, Howson, Johnson, Snodgrass, Hoolahan, Morison
