  1. In an ideal world we would love to stay up. Thats taken as gospel. BUT, if we were to go down we should be OK, it''s not as if we have loads of big time charlies who wouldn''t want to play in the Championship, we should be able to hold on to most players and start blooding the youngsters properly and make a swift return.

On the point of surpassing the likes of Bolton & ''Boro, they were also "yo-yo" clubs before fully establishing themselves so lets be patient.  This is a learning curve for all concerned with the club.  OTBC

  2. Maybe he was told to be frugal in the summer, see where we are come January and spend if we need to.  But, like all the talk at the moment it is mostly speculation and who could blame the board into putting a spin on things if it helps us get Dean Ashton (please).  For example, you don''t buy a new car by telling the salesman exactly how much money you have, you make him work for the sale don''t you?

    Still gutted after Saturday....

  3. KG, I do agree to some extent. I was one of the "give Leon a chance" brigade, and honestly thought that once he scored one goal, the floodgates would open.  This hasn''t been the case but he can change things when he comes off the bench.  He is still young and learning, don''t forget this time last year he was still at Peterborough, and hadn''t even made his famous debut.

Svensson shows the player he can be too seldom for me, he has Prem experience already (limited, granted), and should be starting to pull the strings by now.  Perhaps now could be the time for McVeigh to step forward and prove himself at this level, if Worthy is willing to take the chance.

I am still feeling flat after Saturday, I honestly thought we would win, and with THAT run of games coming to a close felt we had to get all 3 points.  Bolton next, they are on a bit of a slide so will be fired up, we need to be the same from the start or we will have no chance.

  4. It is not racist killieG.  I too have worked with lots of scotsmen during my time with the RAF and all were nicknamed Jock.  None minded and even put their names down on leave boards, overalls etc, as Jock.  It''s just like Irishmen being nicknamed Paddy, and Welsh as Taffy etc.

Also, we don''t all think you dress in tartan, eat Haggis all day long and wear kilts. (And say och aye the noo).  Can we get back to football now please?  Good luck to Kilmarnock this year by the way and I really hope that the national team pulls themselves round with whoever gets put in charge.

  5. Vlad, free speech is ok if it is a reasoned arguement IMO. You can''t call racist abuse free speech. Nor homophobic abuse, or any other kind of hurtful rantings.  There is a campaign on at the moment to stamp out bullying in schools, a lot of which is the verbal type, does some poor kid who suffers this have to put up with it in the name of free speech? No, didn''t think so.

I took my son to Coventry away a couple of years ago, he didn''t want to go again because of 2 drunken idiots hurling  racist abuse at I think Richard Shaw.  I couldn''t really tell him it was ok due to free speech now could I?

  6. Quietly confident on this one. Although the midlands is not a particulary happy hunting ground for us.  I watched the B''ham/B''burn game on Sunday and thought that Savage & Melchiot were very good, Savage is box to box & Melchiot has the ability to go past defenders as if they weren''t there. (Please take note Adam Drury).

Gronkjaer was AWFUL, really bad, whether it was an off day I don''t know but hopefully he will play like that against us. When Yorke came on he had some nice touches but that was it.  The Birmingham defence in general was terrible, all over the place, they didn''t hold the line for offsides so even Hux & Leon could stay onside and exploit their lack of pace in the middle.

Julian Gray has pace but looked a bit out of place at full back, something else that Worthy could work on with Hux & Leon. I feel that Mullers could make the difference on Saturday if he gets his passing head on and is allowed to play his game.

Steven Reid was excellent at bursting through the midfield when Brum started to tire late on, which our new God, Damo does very well, so another plus point then.

So, all in all no problems then?  OTBC

  7. ..against Birmingham.  OK, Damo is obviously in. I know Mullers came in and played well but I have a feeling that Worthy may stick Holt back in the side for this one.  The reason for this is Worthy needs to cancel out the threat of ''Lily'' Savage, he played well against Blackburn yesterday and was box to box all game. (I HATE the guy, but credit where credit''s due).

We can''t afford to have Damo cancel him out but Holt will stick with him all game, leaving Damo to make the runs into the box. BUT, I also noticed that Birmingham were all over the place at the back, even Leon & Hux could stay onside against them!!  Which would make Mullers an ideal choice to thread the ball through.

Admittedly I wasn''t at the game but from the highlights I thought it was great to see someone get the ball down(Mullers) and play it around the park, but how was his work rate? Would it be high enough to justify selection on Saturday?

PSon''t we all feel good today?

  8. It stands to reason that if a team enjoys some success than more fans will come on board. Better that they start following the Canaries rather than Utd, Chelski, Arsenal etc. New fans should be welcomed into the fold, not ridiculed, it could be the case that Norwich''s recent success has sparked a sudden interest in football which can only be a good thing.

If it sells more shirts, season tickets or memorabilia and swells the clubs coffers and helps the transfer fund then all well and good IMO.  I personally don''t get to many games, because of work and funds in the main but I kick every ball and feel every moment of pain or pleasure as much as the rest of you.

I have supported Norwich for 23 years now(since I was 7), having moved to the area when my father was posted to Neatishead(RAF), and have never looked back.  Having lived overseas for 11 years in Germany, where there aren''t too many fellow Canaries I kept my faith by buying the various shirts, (who remembers the Asics & Scoreline kits?), and videos etc.

I am not even pretending to be the most dedicated fan, just that I felt the need to say something in reaction to the original post. At the end of the day we are all in it together, new or old and I hope we all want the same things for the club. ie:continued growth & success.

  9. Drury has made the highest number of blocks of any premiership defender this season, he made a good start but has been slightly off the boil recently I admit.

McKenzie should stay in the team but he needs detention after training to learn the offside rule.

    Jonson for Mcveigh, not Bentley.

If Mullers will get stuck in, then yes I agree, we do need someone to thread those killer passes through.

We''ll be celebrating Saturday, It''s our day.  OTBC
