We do need to spend on a goalscorer, quite who exactly I really don''t know. I think whoever it is will be a gamble though as I can''t see us getting a proven premiership striker. I liked the look of Crow yesterday, he was a whisker away from scoring but to hope he is the answer is asking too much of him. His body is still developing and he could ''burn-out'', but have him on the bench more often from now on. -
Eddy was skinned yesterday by Downing, but then who hasn''t this season? -
Probably just the old smokescreen again. He keeps things close to his chest when it comes to transfers. -
Steve Bruce has confirmed he has offered 1.4 million for him and is waiting to hear back from Burnley. So that''s one less name for the rumour mill then! -
Fair points guys. I wasn''t at the game but having seen the highlights on MOTD you would have thought Spurs were the relegation candidates and we were the ones with 4 wins on the spin! (1st half anyway). Where has our luck gone by the way? Leon did everything but score and as for that "corner", Robbie Keane knew it wasn''t one, you could tell by his reaction.
So, on the whole I am more upbeat today and I DO believe in the team, I was questioning my own reaction to defeat in my original thread. COYY

...I''m starting to get used to losing. When the score came through I didn''t do my usual (what my wife calls) "hysterics", I just thought "OK, I didn''t expect anything today." I now realise I was wrong to think like that, we just played Spurs at FCR and I was being defeatist from the start, something which I never normally am, cautious maybe but not defeatist. If I am alone in thinking like this then I apologise to you all, but the REAL problem is if I am not alone in my thoughts and this is being transmitted to the players.
Is the general feeling now that we can only pick up points from those around us and anything else we get is a bonus? If it is, we are in BIG trouble. We ARE a Premiership club, here on virtue and merit, Nigel please start believing it and getting that point across to the players, our next match is away to Middlesborough, who WILL be smarting from defeat and desperate to put themselves back on track, the big question is will WE be hurting enough to compete with them, we should be because we have now gone 180 mins without a goal. This is not acceptable and the eleven men which start on Tuesday ought to be the hungriest and most committed team which have ever started a game for this club.
I feel the coming week will prove to be the most defining of the whole season so far, please lads, believe in yourselves, you can do it. OTBC

...Lee Power? People talking about Danny Crow reminded me of him back in the 90''s, coming fresh on the scene and seemingly scoring for fun, but what became of him? -
Raw talent, I like the sound of that!! I have to be honest and bow to your greater knowledge on Crow, You have seen him play, I haven''t, so I will agree with you but I would love to see him come off the bench and bang one in!! OTBC -
Merry Christmas Celia. Don''t work too hard!! -
Just to say I hope you all have a VERY merry Christmas, I''m finishing work at 5.30 today so until Wednesday I will be without access to a computer, and also a great bunch of people (ie:you lot)
I only started posting in March and I would like to say thanks to you all for making me feel close to our great city, this IS the best forum on the net, no doubt.
I hope to actually make it to Carrow Road in the New Year, (new job, more money, more time!!) so hope to meet some of you for a beer maybe?
Special thanks to Susie B for sending me copies of the local papers with the promotion specials in by the way!!
OTBC.

Greeno is in a win-win situation. If he stays and we stay up, he''s a hero. If he stays and we go down(Sorry, don''t like to say things like that) he will be off, but no-one would blame him. He could go next month and my general feeling is that STILL no one would be up in arms about it, PROVIDED we got the right money for him.
But, I would love for him to stay with us, for his obvious talent and also for his attitude towards the team and fans.

Dwight Yorke might not be such a bad idea. How many times has it been said that Hux has put in umpteen crosses only for no one to get on the end of them. Yorke has scored at the highest level and does still seem to know where the goal is. He seems to play better when the crowd are on his side and with our superb support could be a good bet.
(Cue deluge of replies shooting me down in flames...)

Charlies Dad, if Crow is good enough, then surely he is ready then? A few subs appearances will do him no harm at all, and every season a young player will burst on to the scene and do well for himself. Look at Neil Mellor at Liverpool, he has been given his chance due to injuries and he is beginning to look the part.
I would rather see Crow given an opportunity than rush to buy someone out of desperation. We should encourage young talent coming through or what sort of message does it send out to the rest of the reserves/youth team?

If we play the long game on Sunday we may as well forget getting anything out of the game. Spurs have some big fellas at the back and I doubt we would get any joy that way. We would be better off with Mullers in the midfield along with Safri to release Leon & Hux. This is going to be one very difficult match. -
Saw the game last night and think that Ipswich will go up this season. As I have said before, providing we stay up it can only be good for football in the 2 regions and it will be nice to have a derby in the top flight again.
Lozza, enjoy it while you can because believe me, the Prem will be even harder next season. Merry Xmas.

What a great article! I remember rushing home from my parents'' house on boxing day to watch the Forrest game live on Sky, I ran into the house, flicked the telly on and there he was, walking out of the tunnel to a packed Carrow Road, my stomach turned over, we had got him!!
Imagine how those Baggies must have felt! Megson surely felt he had done enough to get him, but I reckon your e-mail must have got through Susie and persuaded him to stay.
I feel good now. OTBC

I bet that ball ended up where it was meant to go as well! Thanks DD! -
I honestly can''t remember how he looked when he was with us! All I remember are the free-kicks, the 40 yard cross field passes, the defence unlocking through balls, the grace on the pitch...... ahhh, happy days. -
That is fantastic. Well done Nigel, send him back under his slimy rock. -
Thanks for that Andy S. He sounds a good prospect from what you''re saying. I think some of our fans need to stop looking down their noses at players from the lower divisions, there aren''t enough young talented players coming through. Maybe some people are too young to remember that Ian Wright came from non-league football, so did Stuart Pearce and I''m sure there are others. Good luck to you too for this season. -

and don''t forget if it hadn''t have been for Greeno''s super show at White Hart Lane, we could have been 4-0 down at half-time!! Spurs are a far better team under their new manager and their new players are gelling well. I have to say I would take a point from this one as well.

Nigel needs to put a copy of that article on the dressing room wall before every game. If it fires up the lads half as much as it has, we''ll be OK.

Marmite, you "pipped me to the post" on that one. WHAT were they playing at employing him? Only ever a half decent manager when he had Gibsons millions to play with & look how bad Bradford did with him in charge. Yep, the Baggies are gone, wonder where those WBA fans that posted on here last season have gone.....
