Rotting away in Pompey reserves, has played in the league cup this season I think. Why not have him here, he knows us, we know him & god knows we need more players in at the moment. -
Take the yellow and green tinted specs off guys!! Can YOU see where the next win is coming from? Given our current run I am struggling to tell, OK, we have signed Ashton but he is untried at this level. Our injury list is terrible, probably the worst of all the teams down the bottom(or possibly the entire Prem).

I like the idea of Bryan Hughes DD, like you say, did well last week and has a point to prove. And he is a WINGER isn''t he? Could he supply the bullets for Deano? -
I loved watching Dale Gordon playing, remember the step over? Defenders fell for it every time, not only that he could score too. For sheer pace, you''d be hard pressed to beat Ruel, also anyone remember Mark Barham? -
Not now we have signed Ashton. But I would have said yes if we hadn''t. He has a point to prove I think and seems to really enjoy his football when he actually gets a game, could have been a real fans'' favourite I think.
Don''t know about Clemence though, Quashie seems to me to be a better bet.

With all respect Northern Canary, you can''t legislate for injuries, the squad was patched up enough for the cup game anyway and with 4,000(ish) Norwich fans there we would have felt ripped off if he sent out a youth/reserve team.(Well I would have anyway). -
How come so cheap? He has been in great form this season for Pompey, but wasn''t Harry looking to take him to Southampton? -
There probably were strikers he could have bought for less than 3 million, but they were the likes of which this forum has been saying no to for ages (Scowcroft, Johnson, etc). I think theres more to come, I don''t mind having a shrewd manager and board, it''s better than someone who shouts his mouth off all the time about how much he can spend, then getting ripped off. -
Ive said it before on here and I''ll say it again: "You don''t go into a car showroom and let the salesman know exactly how much money you have to spend". I was as surprised as anyone whe Deano signed, but I don''t feel lied to, I just feel our great club is in safe hands for the future. OTBC -
Smertin is part of Mourinhos plans, no way he will deplete his squad whilst he is going for the title. Pederson is a far more likely bet & he does get his fair share of goals. -
Agreed. Case in point was against Liverpool when Leon created a half chance by pressuring Dudek, we didn''t have anyone else to follow it up and they went down the other end and scored. The lone striker never works and Leon isn''t quite good enough for it anyway(but you can never fault his work ethic). Strikers should always hunt in pairs and I think now we could see some return for all the effort and build up play.
A word of warning though, don''t expect too much straight away from Deano, it IS a big step-up after all, a couple on his debut would be acceptable!

I''m getting away from my point here anyway,which is that any new players should be welcomed with open arms and given the full backing of the fans. Just because a player isn''t my or anyone else''s personal favourite, they do need to be given a chance, and that even goes for ex-Ipswich players!!

I know how you feel, this is almost as bad as the close season!! At least then we were actually excited about who was coming, not fed up like now, where we know we probably won''t get exactly who we want. -

Don''t worry Saint. You can have a laugh but I think people are getting fed up with all the rumours and are taking every thread literally.(Even when it is obviously a wind-up). The thing is no-one predicted any of Worthys signings during the summer so this is all a bit pointless anyway, he will sign whoever he signs so let him get on with it. -
Been covered before this one and opinion was divided then, as I suspect it will be now. I for one think OK if we don''t get Harewood or Ashton. -
My brother very kindly bought me the book for Christmas, what a cracking read it is. Although I think you''d have to be a Norwich fan to fully appreciate it, it has brought last seasons glory back to life(much needed at the moment!). What strikes me is Iwans honesty and desire for the club to do well, regardless of whether or not he was selected.
I haven''t got to the part of the book where he is released from the club yet, I''m not sure I want to as it was hard enough taking the news when it actually happened, and I can''t help but think the club would have benefited from having him around this season in some capacity.
