I accept that ''likley'' should''ve been ''possibly'', but just because Charlton have signed a striker that doesn''t negate the possibilitiy of them signing another, after all they have been reported to be after other strikers and they are hardley overwhelmed with talent in that area and him dissmissing rumours doesn''t really mean anything!! mate.... -
I think everyone has been talking about a wide variety of players that could stregthen our squad, but when you consider that we are about to lose Svensson and it is likley that leon will go, we are going to need strikers for next season!!

That was an absolutely reat goal and I really do love the guy playing for Norwich, but I just think he doesn''t consistantly produce the kind of quality needed for us to become a regular premiership team!!
He gives his all in every game and yes we do need that, but realistically we need a higher percentage of quality in the team!!
I wouldn''t rate him as high as deano in terms of ability and finesse is not a word I would associate with him. Effort and endevour, yes!!

He is really good manager who has done well in the past at Oldham and Everton, however I think at Ipswich with the kind of players he has/had there they should have easily qualified for automatic promotion and therefore he has underachieved and gone down in my estimation, thats fair enough, its only my opinion and I think that it is justified!!

Who''s ridiculing??
I was just curious as to what people thought the future had in store for our local rivals as they seem to shipping out alot of their main assets, they are in financial trouble and their manager does not appear to be capable of taking a seemingly capable team up to the premiership??
As for youth, 6 members of their first team are over 30!!
There is also the question of whether they have the money to keep on to any young players that really shine??

They havent got any money as it is and I would''ve thought that the creditors might want to see some of that tranfer money from Bent, Davies and any others!!
With all of their best players leaving any players with ambition will not want to play there!!
I don''t rate Royle very highly after another failed promotion attempt with probably the best team in the league!!
What sort of squad do you think Ipswich will be left with at the end of the Summer and what do you think their future holds?????

I''m not a professional footballer!! Thats a bit of a ridiculous thing to come out with!! But if I was I think I could have slotted that chance he was presented with by Safri''s great work, Huckerby''s cheeky little pass and Ashtons vision and ability!!
I don''t think he is a bad player, he is one my favourites, but I just think that regardless of the goals he scored at the end of the season he lacks the quality we need!!
Too many times he does not have the deftness of touch required and at 27 it is not a skill that you can pick up!!
Don''t get me wrong I don''t WANT him out of the team I just think we could better, but then again we could do alot worse!!

He has given his all this season in terms of passion and commitment, but he lacks so much quality!!
All season he has been missing chances, even in the Fulham game he had a great opportunity to stick it in, all he had to do was lift it over the keeper who was going to ground and he blasted it over!!
Any player can show passion and commitment (Holt) but consistant quality is more important!!
If we can get 1.5 mil for him then we are laughing!!

It''s the first game of the season and we played 5 or 6 new signings.
It''s going to take time for the team to gel thats why there was no real cohesion, give it time, with a few more games under their belt the performances will begin to pick up!!
