    This is probably nothing but Connor Southwell has liked a tweet from Imad El Hammichi who I googled and it turns out is Mathias Normanns agent. It’s a picture of a pen. I’m going to throw a cat amongst the pigeons here but have we signed Normann permanently? It would fit the narrative from the club of new new incomings.

    Rashica has for me been the most impressive new signing so far. Even when he came on yesterday he was running at and beating the Arsenal players and won us a few corners. A fully fit Rashica on one side and Tzolis on the other is quite an exciting prospect tbh, especially against the lesser teams in the league. I believe that when we have a fully fit squad that we’ve got players in the midfield and attacking positions that can really cause serious problems for opposing teams.

    Arsenal have some issues in their team so I definitely think they can be beaten tomorrow. Partey and Gabriel are back from injury but Partey hasn’t played since preseason and I don’t think Gabriel had a preseason at all. There’s also doubts over Lokonga and Xhaka is suspended.

    I think and hope Normann will start so Farke can stick him on his compatriot Odegaard and mark him out of the game. I’d also hope Kabak will start as I feel he’s best equipped to deal with Aubameyang. Full back selections will have to be spot on as Arsenal will probably go 4-2-3-1 and use Pepe and Saka as the wide options. Their defence is terrible so I’d certainly back our attacking players against their defenders. Also absolutely imperative that we don’t concede early so the crowd gets on their backs and we’ve got a real chance of coming away with at least a point from this game.

    Well I seem to be in a minority here but I’m fairly positive after that. If there was ever a game that showed the difference a Premier League quality CDM would make then this was it. If we had such a player and kept Lees-Melou on for longer then I’m confident we would have got at least a point out of this. Williams made a mistake for the goal but defensively I thought he was a step up from Dimi. Over to Webber now. I did notice a plane landed at Norwich from Naples before the game so could be something there.

    Can't find any info if he was a defensive midfielder, or still a box to box. Would have "experience" but has been loaned to Burnley, Villa and Kasımpaşa in last few seasons

    We can’t sign more than one player from a single Premier League club on loan and we’ve already got Gilmour.

    A scheduled flight from Exeter landed about half an hour ago so it was probably that. There was a small Cessna type that recently landed from Birmingham too. There is however a private jet just about to take off from Norwich so it will be interesting to see where that goes. It’s not the one that landed from Bremen earlier as that’s already left.

    With players like him and Billing being targets - it does seem like Norwich are not going to have a Skipp style player, but by utilising a three man midfield, look for a couple of players either side of Gilmour to get up and down the pitch. 

    This does make sense in many ways -Gilmour’s best displays for Chelsea were probably in Lampard’s 4-3-3 when he played the role of the deepest defender. Kante played more as an 8 with the role of helping in defence when out of possession. 

    Gilmour probably needs to learn a bit more discipline in playing this way for Norwich rather than Chelsea due to the amount of defending the respective clubs need to do. But Skipp also needed to learn this in his first few games for Norwich. Farke specifically mentioned that Skipp needed to improve his position right at the beginning of last season when the hype was starting to get a bit to big for his liking. 

    An overall package of €16m for Normann seems very high for him. I expect it is the loan part Rostov don’t like - the ‘obligation’ to buy would probably be reliant on Norwich not getting relegated and I can see why Rostov wouldn’t want to take a gamble on that. 

    Do you think that Normann is a big upgrade over McClean or Rupp?

    By now you can probably tell if a rumour is genuine or not if the Pinkun guys don’t come out and say it’s ‘wide of the mark’ If they don’t then this might have some legs. I’d be surprised if it was true but maybe Webber has seen that Diagne is available now for a reasonable fee and that wasn’t the case earlier in the window even though it’s not a position the club are actively looking at. Paddy, Connor and Michael Bailey have always said that things can change very quickly in the transfer market.

    A bit underwhelmed by this if I’m being honest. But if he comes in and does the business then great. Although I’m sure there must be better players we could get, especially on a loan with a view to buy option if that was something the club was considering.  The Marseille flight this morning had me looking at Ligue 1 and it seems like it has players that would fit the bill for us.

    Someone might know better than me on this but after checking out some YouTube highlight compilations it looks like Papa Gueye would be the better player for us ahead of Kamara. His physicality and range of passing especially look like qualities that would appeal to Farke & Webber. On the other hand Caleta-Car at CB would be another great signing and one some Marseille fans believe would be available for around £12m.
