    I''m sorry did I watch a different game today?

    It''s no wonder Holt is struggling to get involved there''s no one running off of him. The two wide midfield players don''t get beyond him and Hoolahan is trying so hard to get things going he''s all over the pitch not contributing to anything.

    That game was there for the taking in the first half and it was like City had no clue. And yes, I am a City fan, before the usual crowd deride me with the label "binner".

    The number of times that our fall back had possession of the ball and were looking for movement ahead of them. There wasn''t any.

    From 60 minutes the game was begging for a change in midfield. Swap one of the holding players or God forbid tell Johnson to get forward more but don''t get them to continually sit.

    A dropped 2 points from where I was sitting.

    Actually I think it''s more than just the poor passing.

    There''s too much respect given to the other teams - that must come from Hughton. It''s also in a lot of the comments from people on here about Mr Nice Guy Hughton. City are in the Premier League by right. On their day they should be a match for any team, but the team seems to have been given this belief that they have to play like "gentlemen" and respect the opposition. Well b-u-g-g-e-r that, get in their faces guys, that''s what you''re paid to do!

    The games against Arsenal and Man U, City were in their faces the whole match, closing down, pressing, harrying the player on the ball. The games against Liverpool none of that was in evidence. As they always say give a good player time to play and he''ll play. City were like that against Liverpool and rightly deserved the hiding they got.

    Played central midfield throughout the majority of my playing time, though have played in goal, up front or in the back-line.

    Gorleston Grammar U-14s, U-16s, U-18s (scored 5 in my first game for the U-14s when I eventually got into the side).

    Fleggburgh U-18s (most notable game a 26-0 thrashing at the hands of Attleborough featuring a young winger by the name of John Fashanu).

    Potter Heigham Reserves (drew against a Norwich Prison side in one of the Anglian cup rounds only to have to return to the prison again for the replay).

    Ludham.

    Bath University 3rd XI (returned home one Christmas to play with a colleague in a Norwich league side featuring Martin Peters).

    Middlecroft FC (down in Gosport).

    Lee-on-Solent BL.

    Other most notable memory is that the City side of the 70s used to come and train in the grounds of the private school where I lived (Duncan Hall, Scratby). So the likes of Keelan, Foggo, Stringer, Forbes et al training there pre-season.

    Hope the title says it all. That said Blackpool showed this season that you can''t get by on scoring alone, having dropped too many points even though they score 2 or more goals in the games.

    Trying to look through the stats for this season PL and nothing immediately stands out as the cause for a teams demise. Obviously winning is important.

    Met all the players in the early 70''s side as they used to come and train in the grounds of Duncan Hall School in Scratby. That includes the likes of Keelan, Forbes, Stringer, Foggo, Paddon, Bone et al.Also played alongside Martin Peters in a local Norwich league match when home for Christmas in the early 80''s.Played against John Fashanu when he was playing for Attleborough U18s. He was a winger at the time. Their side hammered us 26-0.

    Purple, thanks for that plain english guide to the ins and out of the shareholdings. As you say, someone could have quietly been acquiring shares for minority shareholders up to total 29% holding in NCFC Plc. When I said 29% I had intended to indicate that Delia and MWJ could sell 29% of the total shares in NCFC from their own holding.The point about the 30% total holding that anyone acquires is that it would require the mandatory formal offer to be made. As you correctly point out the buyer(s) would still not be guaranteed to get over the 50% needed to have a majority shareholding. However, Delia and MWJ could sell all their own holdings to said buyer and the majority shareholding would be achieved.

    Purple, the information from the City rule talks about when a mandatory offer would have to be made to shareholders. You are correct that it would not be a takeover, but if somebody or a group of bodies acquired a 30% shareholding the City rule would kick in and they would have to make a formal offer to shareholders.As a number have alluded to, if Delia and MWJ choose to sell 29% of the shareholding there is no reason for the rest of the shareholders to be told. That would allow another body or bodies to become part of the shareholders without the City rule on mandatory offers coming into effect.

    This is a bit of a tangent to my starting post, but is there supporters representation on the board at the moment or not? If there is, how representative of the populous is that person(s)?And Fillet I don''t disagree with what you say - opinion is very divided here in the forum and the number of posters on here can only be a small fraction of the supporting populous. My own preference is Curbishley.

    Interesting comments on his managerial stint at Dunfermline. Have to confess I never thought he had done anything there but....After a few assistant coaching positions, Calderwood moved into management in his own right by taking over Dutch club Willem II Tilburg in 1996, before moving to NEC Nijmegen in 1997. After a two year spell there, Scottish First Division side Dunfermline Athletic moved to make him their new manager. Calderwood spent five seasons at East End Park

    where he led the club to promotion to the SPL by finishing as

    runners-up in his 1st season in charge. He also lead them to their

    highest ever SPL position, finishing fourth in 2003–04. That season the side also reached the Scottish Cup final, guaranteeing their return to European competition for the first time in 35 years as opponents Celtic had already earned Champions League qualification.

    Just a thought this morning with all the discussion continuing here on the message board over possible appointments.Some candidates seem to split the populous down the middle (Ince) whilst others have a more generous following (Boothroyd, Robins). So should there be a representative from the supporters invited by the board to be involved with the discussions of a new manager?And if so, who?Discuss.
