Coleman and Jagielka were already injured. Maybe they won''t have any players by the time we play them! -
I said in September we''d be safe by May. Boy that was optimistic. :/ -
EA doesn''t have licensing for the Croatian league. They gave him a 74 rating, which is about on par with a lower level Prem/high championship player. Bout like our club! -
I can''t remember too many people complaining when Pinto was signed...but then again they may have been relying on Football Manager for their well-informed opinion.Apples
He wasn''t on FIFA, so yeah. -
I know they were playing Tottenham, but stoke looked pretty god-awful the other day. Wouldn''t be surprised if Sunderland got a point or even 3 there. We''re going to need more than 6 points I think. Which means beating Everton and Watford, then taking a point from Arsenal/Man u -
I''d prefer to leave Bassong out, but as we only have two ''proper'' centre-backs available I''d include him in a defence minded 5-4-1 - it''s Arsenal where we''ve only won twice since 1972, so a point garnered would suffice nicely thanks.5-4-1:RuddyMartin - cbBennett - cbBassong - cbPinto - dmrOlsson - dmlHowson - mTettey - dmO''Neil - mNaismith - amMbokani - ssubs:RuddBradyJarvisHoolahanRedmondMulumboJerome
I like this, as Pinto and Olsson would flourish as wing backs, but Tettey is still injured so I would put Mulumbu there and would put Redmond or Hoolahan in for Naismith. Strong bench tho. -
Although I don''t think we should get rid of Neil, if you look at the situation as his objective was to keep us in Prem, and he doesn''t do that, then (ignoring the other factors, bad transfers and refs etc), hasn''t he failed his and the club''s objective? Whether or not that is a mortal failure is up for the club to decide I suppose -
Go 3 at the back w/ out Bassong? Who are the 3 cb''s? Martin (not a CB), Bennett, and ? -
Ruddy got close yesterday -
We''ve had no away penalties since 94?! That is shocking -
Agreed. It''s a tragedy that mbokani wasn''t given a pen. -
Although I am pretty sure we have only been awarded 1 penalty in the entire season. Which is the lowest. The next lowest has 4 i believe. -
I just posted about it on another thread, but this just makes all those claims about "corrupt" refs seem all the more silly. -
For all you complaining about "corrupt" refs... Jonathan Moss just sent Vardy off for diving (a second yellow). He''s he tied top scorer and Leicester are in first. So much for favoring the big clubs eh? -
Good point MP, I think about B''mouth and all their players (first team most of them) getting injured earlier this season. But they didn''t fall apart, they stuck to their principles and now they''re safely mid table. -
What we need is a rich American owner - like Villa?
or like Man U? -
If we go down, I think we have nobody to blame but the board. If we had Klose in the summer, I honestly think we''d be mid table by now. I almost feel bad for the history books! How often has all 3 promoted clubs stayed up? Not often... But we''re going to blow that chance of all 3 staying up ! -
Other option is to recall Turner, not sure how popular that would be... But he does know the club and he is a physical presence. -
We need a result against Arsenal or Man U... Plus beating Everton and Watford. Everton and Watford are must wins now... -
Pinto could come back in.... Or Martin there and recall Turner? He''s our only other senior central defender (I''m putting up a back 4 with Bassong excluded completely) -
Clubs do put out "statements" post game time that do criticize refs decisions... I would imagine they do it because that way the manager doesn''t get suspended for saying something he believes is true. There are good refs in this league, we just don''t seem to get any of them. Although because I cannot attend games due to my geographical location, I would be happy to cheer on "You don''t know what you''re doing" from my couch during games. -
Next season the transfer priorities are definitely a centre back, a striker, and probably a midfielder. I hope Madison plays some and starts to take over the Hoolahan role. -
Recalling good old Turner? Knows the club and knows how to battle. He''s a big boy, but not sure if mentally he''d be up for it. Would take up a physical presence that Klose has left. -
Here''s hoping Arsenal clobber Sunderland 4-0 next week and get that goal difference back down. It will matter in the end.
