Lafferty

Get in there!  Great goal from the man.   Class finish from nowhere.   Just shows what kind of ability he has - and with a little luck earlier in the season would have had more.   Is tactically aware too, which will be important in the new regime - and AN will be very aware of what he has to offer having seen him close up in the SPL when he played for Rangers.   More like that please.....

have you noticed when we score a goal and he gestures others over to join the celebrations ? he did it at bournemouthwhen jerome got the winner  and he did it yesterday as well, Seems very much a team player and a decent bloke on the pitch...

I was pleased with the way he kept his discipline yesterday, cracking goal and as you say seems to be a real team player.

Looked completely knackered after 60 and started to make mistakes, he needs a run in the team.

Agree with you there Mr Jenkins, he made a few really good tackles when we were all expecting a classic Laffs challenge, a great goal and generally intelligent play. He did tire and started giving the ball away, its a shame we don''t have a more solid left sided midfielder to bring on when he''s worn out...cough....Surman.....

Lafferty''s goal was a good goal and very similar to Josh Murphy''s goal at Blackpool (which seems to have been forgotten on other threads)

Good lord, would that be the same Josh Murphy being slagged off on another thread as a no hoper, no it can''t be, must be his brother surely.

Lafferty had quite a disciplined 60 minutes and it was good to see him grab a goal.
He was very poor after those 60 minutes and just consistently gave the ball away, though.

I thought too many players looked ''tired'' after an hour - Lafferty, Hooper, O''Neil.  Can''t criticise Hooper''s work rate, but he ought to be up to playing 90 minutes by now. Our subs didn''t make enough impact either - Wes was anonymous, Murphy''s decision making was poor and Grabban hardly had time to make any impact.

These things need to change if we are going to challenge the top two (or even the top six, given how well they''re all playing at the moment). Mind you, a win against Brentford means we go above them and psychologically, being in the top six will give the club a big lift.

Saw Lafferty in pre season match at Dereham. Powerful attacker who was prepared to go back and aid the defense and chase back after the ball when called upon. Inspired his team mates. Looked like another Grant Holt sadly somehow his enthusiasm was kerbed and he drifted into obscurity.

Appears to be a player that needs a bit of freedom and free range on the pitch and he will deliver the goods.
