Bill 1,788 Posted January 20, 2015 "It is understood Phelan could make a quick return to football by becoming Steve Bruce’s assistant at Hull." PinkunSeems extremely quick if that is the case, and so when did this approach from Bruce come in.. if it is the case ?Phelan''s position with regard to Adams going ....sacked, moved elsewhere, death etc must have been discussed before he joined. yes, I know that is another thread but this aspect to his departure that may well get lost amongst the other two threads

Lessingham Canary 99 Posted January 20, 2015 Could it be with Adams it was all nice and comfortable ? played together, both had a nice position decent squad, then Adams goes, the new more dynamic kid on block turns up from Hamilton, and suddenly sleepy little Norwich isn''t such an easy number anymore.Suddenly old mate Steve Bruce rings up at the weekend, his assistant gone back to Middlesborough and a position for an old mate suddenly sounds very nice, ?I liked Phelan, (or at least his CV as never spoke to him) and hoped he would have had a lot to give any NCFC manager, be it Neil Adams or Alex Neil, history will show that Adams failed, Phelan did contribute to some nice results in his short time with us and some crap (Preston and Reading being 2 of the worst for a long, long time). So is the issue that the board are not being on top of these things, and give us an excuse to have a moan, or just maybe true colours being shown, when the going gets tough and all that ?
