Points to be dropped on Tuesday

Recommended Posts

I guess we first and foremost make sure we get the points ourselves and then worry about the other games - draws are probably best as we''d then gain 2 on each, but we''ll take what we get!

Top 4 already out of reach forget about their dropping points. Aim for 5th or 6th and play off against a dispirited contender who have failed to get automatic.

Fourth placed team 5 points ahead with 17 games to play - hardly out of reach Mr Negative

Very similar thoughts to what people posted on here before the Brentford game. Forget about other teams dropping points, just make sure we take maximum points, the rest will take care of itself

"Points to be dropped on Tuesday"

Hopefully we will finally find some consistency to capitalise and we are not amongst those that that drops some; a real chance to close the gap a little

It goes without saying we have to win our games, I just think its interesting to notice when teams above us are playing each other and that it means one or other of those teams - or both if it is a draw - is going to lose ground against us.   As we try to push up the table the more games like this we see will help us push up towards the pack.  I haven''t looked any further than Tuesday, but as long as we win we will make up ground against some of those above us - because of those fixtures.   Days like today we have made no ground on anyone except Ipswich, which in itself is welcome, but those teams above us playing each other helps our cause much more.

Indeed.   But if we are to reach the top two (which is still possible imo) we will have to win nearly every game from now on in, anyway.   The play offs looks achievable without too much stretch of the imagination, but we should still imo be looking to reach the top.  Ten points may look a lot to make up, but in reality, to be able to challenge for one of the two top spots, we only have to make up seven or eight points to be right there with a shout in the last couple of games of the season.   Fixtures like those on Tuesday will help us.  As always, it is in our own hands to do it - which makes every game from now on in like a cup final.
