Pardew and Alladyce

Recommended Posts

Are NCFC fans being too irrational wanting Adams out? Look at Pardew at Newcastle and Alladyce at West Ham - both sets of fans adamantly wanted a change at the top and now they''re both flying high at the top. Look at Ferguson too - his reign at Manchester United started awfully and was almost sacked - what ever happened to him?

How long do you give a manager? Is it just a blip? Do the board keep faith with Adams like Newcastle and West Ham did?

Completely different situations to ours. Newcastle have an aim of staying in the division or top half. West Ham the same. Meaning a bad run can be tolerated with the ambition still achieved.

We are on a one season make or break time, promotion is an absolute must. Therefore the bad run we have had already has used up all our slack within the season. If it prolongs or we go on another then we will fail. Therefore it must be stopped immediately not in a few weeks. Especially with a lot of games coming up over Xmas. A good Xmas could get us back on target.

Therefore we must act now before its too late and get a proven manager at delivering realistic seasonal objectives in.

However our board will dither, do nothing till its too late, re-assess our objectives, sell loads of players and stagnate back in the championship or worse.

Except, of course, that they are all experienced managers who have some idea of what they are doing. Adams is clueless, as illustrated by his constant changing of defence personnel and inability to motivate and inspire the players.Managing a successful youth team is a world away from doing it at this level. I have nothing against Adams as a person, he just should not have been put in this position - blame the board, who have previous at preserving the status quo until it is too late. No doubt they will do the same again, they seem to have an inbuilt ability of failing to learn from past mistakes.

How long do can we go on saying its a blip?

This season was monumentally important in terms of getting back to the PL straight away and was clearly the best opportunity to do so. The board got it wrong in appointing Adams but we had a good start and were playing well(ish). I''m sure fans can forgive the odd blip, but this is now 10 games.

Pardew and Allardyce had a lot of new players that needed to adjust to the PL and have now done so. We have brought in some new faces but they know the championship, they know English football and shouldn''t need as long to adjust.

We also look to have run out of ideas, once teams knew how we were going to set up and play we needed new ideas and plans to win. Again you give a side time to work this out but Adams clearly doesn''t have the answers. The players need motivating, which again, Adams doesn''t seem to know how to do and we need organising, at the moment we look like a bunch of headless chickens too often.

The failings are down to management and in a season when we don''t have time to see if a completely inexperienced manager can learn and come good eventually - we need to act quickly.

They are and we''re all premiership managers, time served. Adams is a rookie, no experience, managing in the championship. And is getting nowhere!

No comparison!

Of the three managers you mention, they have a combined managerial experience of 79 years.  Adams has.......less than half a season and looks to not know how to turn it round.  If the board (imo wrongly) keep him on, to achieve something as a manager he has to show his worth  in being able to get things on track.  Only then can he say he is a fully fledged manager.   At the moment as a manager he is just in his nappies.  Time to move into long trousers and show he can turn it round.

And how much managerial experience did Hughton have ?  I also notice Readings Chris Gunter said sacking manager Nigel Adkins would be a big mistake.  There is ample evidence to show that those clubs who keep faith with their managers tend to prosper. How many managers will Norwich get through before the baying crowd are settled ?
And how much managerial experience did Hughton have ?
At Premier League level, very little. But that is not the issue here. As others have said , the decision to bring in a rookie at any level for such a vital season was baffling back in June.Sadly, from where we are looking at it in December, it''s bordering on the criminally negligent.
