Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 20 (1st Wazzock)

Recommended Posts

I’m off to the

U21 game so an early welcome PUPs to week twenty, the half-way point of our

Rays Funds season. This week we have another of our original PUPs with Graham

Humphrey in charge and making the final selections. Graham is one of the PUPs I

rely on for more than just his great selections because he’s the man I go to

for the results of our final six after every Saturday home game. And he never

lets me down. Wherever I need the result from he seems to be able to find it

for me. Graham also never fails to turn up to all our socials and has been an

important part of our quiz team for the two quizzes this year. And of course he’s

a fantastic picker with his name proudly on Ray’s signature to prove it. So lets help Graham by giving him our very best selections from

the games played on Sat/Sun/Mon of this weekend and listed on the William Hill

or Bet365 web site.

For the match bet this week we

have another of our original PUPs with Blahblahblah making the selections. Blah

has already been successful in this with his great win last season. And of

course he’s a previous winner of the final six so proudly sits on both sections

of Ray’s signature. We have £6 to spend

Blah, so you can choose up to six selections either from the PUPs suggestions

or of your own.

Here are the

rota’s for January. Just waiting to hear from Wazzy now.

Final Six Rota

: -

Jan  3rd  GMF - confirmed

Jan  10th Cosmic Twin - confirmed

Jan  17th  Statto28 - confirmed

Jan  24th  Chellecity - confirmed

And for the

Norwich Match Bet : -

Jan  10th  Jim Smith - confirmed

Jan  17th  Jas The Barclay King – confirmed

Jan  31st

Feedthewolf - confirmed

Last week it

was suggested we had a PUPs meet in January and the date suggested was 17th

January after the Cardiff game in the Nelson. Many of us are always there

anyway but we’d love a few more to join us if you are able. I hope some of you

can.

Looking ahead

to next week it’s a strange one for sure with Boxing Day on the Friday and

another round of fixtures on Sunday.  I

think we’re going to have to start a day early and pick from Boxing Day as well

as the weekend to make sure there’s enough games listed on Bill Hill and

Bert365. The Norwich game will be the Boxing Day match against Millwall.

Now I’ll hand

this week’s thread over to Graham Humphrey and Blahblahblah. Remember there’s

no pressure because we are all going to be doing our best to help you to

success. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for the

Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all

you PUPs... Take it away Graham and Justin ... the thread is yours.......[:)]..........

As always I

leave you with Ray’s signature which now reads :-

The Eerste Divisie in The Netherlands.NEC to win at home against MVV.Top versus one from bottom. NEC with a 9-0-0 and 32/8 home record, with the latest victories by 5-1 and 6-2. MVV with a 2-0-7 and 6/24 away record, in which those wins were aganst lowly teams. NEC are playing tonight in the Dutch cup but should be recovered, even assuming they take that seriously, by Sunday. The current odds are 1/7.For the NCFC bet, in a splurge of optimism, I would suggest an away 2-1 win, at 11/1.Good luck to all!

A very good evening to you Nutty and I hope you enjoy this lovely mild evening down at Carrow Road in the blankets for the U21 game.

Good luck to our resident pisshead and social animal Mr Humphrey and I am glad to hear he has joined AA even though he does not have a car. [;)]

Good luck also to Blah x 3 and to all you other lovely PUPs out there.

After last weeks minor blip I will keep the faith as they say and return to Spain and give BARCELONA a chance to redeem themselves and get a HOME WIN v Cordoba.

For the Norwich bet I see a goalfest and Norwich to win 3-2.

I''m already going to postpone the meet after the Cardiff game. A few of us will be in there like we always are and would lobe to see people at anytime. But on that date our good friend Kev won''t be at the game and I know many would look forward to meeting him. As he comes all the way from Leeds I''ll arrange a other date when he''s at the game.

Hi all, I''ll go for a Queen of the South home win versus Cowdenbeath (Queen of the South home win).

For the match bet I''ll take a draw for HT and FT, got a feeling it could be a 0 - 0! [:O]

All the best PUPS, and happy hunting! [:)]

I''ll join chellecity in backing table-toppers Benfica to beat rock-bottom Gil Vicente in Portugal''s top flight. Benfica won away to Porto last weekend, so this should be a walk in the park for them against a team yet to win a match this season. For the City bet, sorry to be a humbug but Chris Martin to score anytime.

My pick is from the Conference Prem this week where I''m tipping Halifax (Home record  W8 D2 L2 F25 A12) to beat Nuneaton (Away record W0 D1 L12 F5 A30).

Halifax            v            Nuneaton            Home Win.

For the Norwich bet I''m going for a City Win with Gary Hooper 1st goal.

Hi all, it''s good to be a part of this again.

For the main pick, I''d suggest Man City vs Crystal Palace, home win.

For the Norwich pick, it''sgoing to be tricky I think, as there doesn''t appear to be any obvious pattern in either teams results. A link to some statty stuff for the game is here :

http://www.soccerstats.com/pmatch.asp?league=england2&matchid=808&t1=31&t2=48&ly=2015

This link won''t work because I use chrome. Even after all these years :)

I''d suggest that the safest bet will be over 2.5 goals in the game, both teams have a 50% + record of over 2.5 goals in games home / away this season. I''d also suggest that if we can get to half time at 0-0, we have a good chance to win, as Derby tend to score more than we do in the 1st half. That said, they seem to have our old habit circa Lambert of scoring late on aswell.

That said I may not pick my own pick - I''ll make a choice on Friday evening if that''s ok nutty :).

Best of luck Graham and all pickers.

I''ve been told off by a fellow PUP for not popping in so as I have been a bit, er, sidetracked* this evening, I should do so now and not be so rude...As usual, I''d like to say a big thanks to Eddie for the very nice and complimentary intro and giving me the opportunity to pick one again this year - it is genuinely a lot of fun to do so and although my presence on here is rather understated these days be assured I am keeping note of all the picks this week and who has picked them very carefully to give me the best possible chance of winning (not that it improves my decision making going by the last few years).  My own form this year can hardly be described as vintage so I''m definitely placing my trust in you lot for some decent varied selections and it''s great to see so many so far, so massive thanks to you all.I''ll be back tomorrow night sometime with my final six, and as I''m not consuming my own body weight in alcohol for a change on a Friday, I''ll be totally sober to make my selections - so what can possibly go wrong eh?And finally, any PUPs who haven''t met any of us lot in person yet and have been a bit apprehensive about doing so - definitely take the plunge, trust me.  I''ve made loads of friends through this thread and the Pink''un in general and they are friendships that extend beyond football.  Just pop into the Nelson after any home match, we don''t bite!I''m signing out for this evening.  Roll on this weekend, and all off to Chicago''s if we win, eh Tilly?
