I sincerely hope that I am not reading too much into this dreadful situation but the news story relates to an ''incident'' and that Police are exploring all avenues. It has been well documented about Clarke suffering from depression so this sounds like tragic circumstances as no mention of it being a road traffic accident.

That would be tragic. 7.30am and collision with a walker doesn''t sound good. It doesn''t sound like the sort of round where you would walk your dog. Our thoughts are with him and his family.

It would be tragic if that was the case. Thoughts to him, his family & those who have been unfortunate in Glasgow & France.

Just shows how fragile life is and this board should be about friendship and banter, not bullying and petty arguements!

Thoughts out there for these poor people and those affected.

Echo all thoughts previously made.

Thoroughly decent bloke, speaks intelligently and eloquently about the game and is passionate about his role and life in it.

His book, for those that like to read footballers stories is one of the best of its kind, recommend it.

All the very best Mr C...
