Cheeky Monkey 0 Posted August 14, 2005 So what did he play like in his first match for Wigan. From the commentary I understand he had a couple of shots within the first ten minutes and hit the woodwork with a header later on.Don''t get me wrong, I''m glad he''s gone. But I think Worthy needs another attacking midfielder, oh, and that aint Bend it like Bentley - the "show boat".

Trent Canary 0 Posted August 14, 2005 Was flicking between the footy and the cricket, but thought he looked quite good. Certainly showed the sort of form he had for us at the start of last season.

Pyro Pete 2,353 Posted August 15, 2005 This criticism is all pretty childish. Damien Francis is a quality player whose performances played a massive part in us getting promoted and having any chance in retaining our Premiership status. I saw a bit of the game yesterday and felt he did ok.I''m disappointed he wanted to leave us too. But this nonsense that he did nothing for Norwich City FC is rubbish. Worthington would give his right arm for a quality player like Damien Francis right now.

Mello Yello 2,572 Posted August 15, 2005 Damien had/has the potential to be a ''consistent'' quality player, and I accept a player may have a stinker occasionally, but his attitude was questionable toward the latter end of last season.Maybe Paul Jewell has a better understanding of what makes Francis tick, and he''s also banned Damien''s agent from being within 50 miles of the JJB stadium!Yes Pyro, criticism can be pretty childish, but I thought that the way that Francis and his mouthpiece of an ''agent'' conducted themselves in accellerating his departure from NCFC, displayed a dreadfully immature attitude - that personally, I''m now very pleased he''s gone!
