Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 21

Recommended Posts

Greetings PUPs

and welcome to week twenty one of our Rays Funds season. This week we have

another previous winner of the final six with Gregt in charge and making the

final selections. Greg won on the Christmas weekend last season where our best

team effort ever helped him find six winners and make £58 for the CSF. I think

Greg’s cool head and unflappable nature makes him a perfect fit for the

difficult Christmas fixture list. And if you PUPs can find him your usual

quality selections we’ve got every chance of another Christmas bonus for the

CSF. I’m a day early this week because Friday

games are included.
So please get your selections in by Christmas Day from the games played on Fri/Sat/Sun of this

weekend and listed on the William Hill

web site. Must be Bill Hill this week because we have a free bet to use from

last week’s 5/6.

For the match bet this week we

have a bloke called nutty making the selections. This bloke is worse than

useless as can be seen by a look at our PUPs league. If he’s to have any chance

of adding to the winning funds you PUPs will have to help him with plenty of

quality selections. The game this weekend is the Boxing Day match against

Millwall.

I’d like to now

share with you an email I received last weekend from Emma, our friend at the

CSF. We have spent a little time getting to this point because I’d taken into

account your views when we changed to raise money for the CSF. The main thing

was that we funded the disability side of the great work they do. I think what

we have now reflects that and hope you’re all happy with where your money will

go.

Firstly sincere apologies I

have taken so long to come back to you with regards to how best to spend your

money!

But we wanted to look

really hard at an area which would not just benefit us and a particular group

but also ensure you guys could feel really connected with on an on-going basis.

Our DS team are currently

funded by the Premier League and partially through money raised from our

Sporting Light Appeal.  This money pays for training costs, staffing costs

and facility costs, residential, however we are always very keen to offer them

some fixtures and additional treats as they love putting the Norwich City FC kit

on and representing their club.

I have spoken to our

Disability Officer here and we really would like to use the money you guys

handed over to us originally to pay for a fixture against Northampton on

Saturday 7
th February, prior to the Blackpool fixture and then pay

for them to all come to watch Norwich play after.

In addition to this we are

then looking to invite four DS teams from around the country to come and play

in a festival on Monday 6
th April which is Sheffield Wednesday at

home, play before hand at our Carrow Park facility and then all come to watch

the Norwich game after.  This date also co-insides with our Disability

week and we would like you to all come and take part in a half time

presentation on the pitch to announce the money you have raised.

If you could ask the other

members of PUPS and see what they think and if they are in agreement we would

then like to invite you all to come and watch the group train at Wensum Sports

Centre on Saturday 24
th January, 10am – 11am, where we can introduce

you to the group and take lots of photos!

Let me know what you think.

In the meantime have a

great Christmas and an even better New Year and thank you so much for your

support so far.

Kind Regards

Emma

Emma Fletcher

Charity Fundraising Officer

Last week it

was suggested we had a PUPs meet in January and the date suggested was 17th

January after the Cardiff game in the Nelson. I think we should take a rain

check on that and instead I’d like as many of you as possible to join me at the

Wensum Sports Centre on 24th January. I know many of you live so far

away that it’s impossible to be there but if those who are close enough can

make it I’m sure seeing the photo’s would help those who can’t make it feel

involved too.

Just one more thing - Many of you will probably remember a side bet that Parma and AJ had about the Juve v Parma game a few weeks ago. Parma lost that bet so sent me a fiver and we have decided to use it by allowing AJ to spend it on the Reading v Norwich game on Sunday. That will give us even more interest for the Christmas weekend so good luck AJ and thank you Parma.

So there was lots to tell you this week and last but not least I''d like to

wish all our PUPs a very Merry Christmas! You’ve been awesome this year and

deserve to have a great time! Now I’ll hand this week’s thread over to Gregt.

Remember there’s no pressure because we are all going to be doing our best to

help you to success. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money

for the Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all

you PUPs... Take it away Greg ... the thread is yours.......[:)]..

As always I

leave you with Ray’s signature which now reads :-

Merry Christmas Pups! [:)], I''m going to Belguim for a Club Brugge away win on Boxing Day (Club Brugge).

For the match bet I''ll go for a City win, over 4.5 goals...also fancy a sending off, any time.

All the best!

To Wales, where unbeaten, table-topping The New Saints host Newi Cefn Druids. Newi are in the bottom half of the table, and rock bottom of the form guide from their last six games. Odds of 1/6 look about right for the home win.For the match bet, Norwich to win and four or more total goals looks good value at 10/3. If we get one early it''s got a great chance of happening.

Thanks for sharing the letter from Emma re CSF and where she''d like to use the money, I think that''s a great idea, will also make every effort to be there on Jan 24th as I would like to be involved.

For my pick this week I''m going for Bournemouth to bet Fulham in the championship.

For the Norwich pick I''m going for a 2-0 win with Jerome to score the first goal.

Merry Xmas to all you pups and good luck everyone this week.

Happy Christmas to all Pups - wherever you may reside!Sorry I''ve missed the past couple of weeks too.GregT - good luck mate, you have a lot to live up to - Twidio will never let you live it down if you don''t emulate his success!BASINGSTOKE v Staines - HOME WIN in the Vanarama Conference South should be a banker. My good friend Nutty, I''m going to miss coming to the Millwall game, but I''m going to predict a 5-0 City win for you all to enjoy! And because you need as much help as possible - as an extra incentive I will match any winnings you get from the City bet (just don''t choose Ryan Bennett hat-trick at 500-1 [:O])If I have got the dates right then the 24th Jan coincides with the Brentford Home game, so I will make sure I get on the road really early to get to the Wensum Sports Centre for 10am.Good Luck all,Leedscanary

I like the look of a Turkish second-tier game but I suspect odds will not become available so (provisionally but probably definitely) a rare visit to England. Manchester City to win at home against Burnley.Manchester City with a 6-1-1 and 15/5 home record. Burnley with a 1-2-5 and 5/15 away record. For the NCFC game against Millwall I would suggest a 3-1 Norwich City win, currently at 12/1. For the extra NCFC bet on Boxing Day I would recommend putting some money on a 2-0 away win, at 9/1.Good luck and a happy Christmas and an interesting New Year to all!

Good Luck to Gregt, he''s picked a few shockers in the past though, as anyone who has met Jellytot will know...(jokes!!)

I''d like to offer a Spurs away win at Leicester at 11/10. Aways are risky but Leicester are in such poor form and I''m sure I read somewhere that Pochettino has a better than 50% win ratio in all comps since taking over at Spurs so the price appeals to me.

As for the Norwich bet, how about Hooper and Hoolahan anytime? A resurgent Wes against a tired and poor Millwall in the second half could see him bag I reckon. And hope.

Good Luck everyone, especially Gregt and Nutty and apologies to Jellytot...:-)

League Two for me on Boxing Day. Burton are riding high only out of the auto

places on goal difference. Tranmere are struggling with only dear old Hartlepool

keeping them off the bottom. Bill Hill price this game at 10/11 for the home win

though so maybe I''m missing something. On all known form those odds look very

good.

Burton Albion             v              Tranmere

Rovers            Home Win

Keep the suggestions coming for our Boxing Day match against Millwall. I shall consider each one. I saw Wes today! Wished him a Happy Christmas and suggested he scored a

couple on Boxing Day to which he replied "it would be nice"! So Wes will feature

somewhere on my Norwich bets. The last time this happened was when I saw Cameron Jerome before the Birmingham game and he banged in two the next day......
My good friend Nutty, I''m going to miss coming to the Millwall game, but

I''m going to predict a 5-0 City win for you all to enjoy! And because you

need as much help as possible - as an extra incentive I will match any winnings

you get from the City bet (just don''t choose Ryan Bennett hat-trick at 500-1

[:O])If I have got the dates right then the 24th Jan coincides with the

Brentford Home game, so I will make sure I get on the road really early to get

to the Wensum Sports Centre for 10am.Good Luck

all,Leedscanary
Kev, you''re a star buddy and you epitomise all the great things that Rays

Funds stands for. The offer to match my winnings is typical of that support and

your good nature. Of course I''m not confident of winning, but if I were I''d

suggest you double the stake which would amount to the same thing. You do so

much for us I''d not be happy costing you money my friend.

The 24th January is the Brentford game but it''s also 4th round of the FA Cup.

What are the chances.......

Man Utd to beat Newcastle please!

For the Norwich bet, Norwich to be 2-0 up at half time and win 4-0 is 45/1. Why not?

First things first, Season''s Greetings to all PUP''s and a BIG thank you to Nutty for all your efforts with keeping Ray''s Funds for CSF going. I''m sure Arrdee is looking down with a wry smile on his face to see his "little idea" still going strong all these year''s on.

And, as Leedscanary has made the City Bet more interesting, I''d like to double the stake for the main Final Six selections to help GregT win even more money this week for the CSF. (Nutty, if you could DM the bank details, I''ll transfer the money across to you).

As for my pick, I''d like to go for Celtic vs Ross County - Home win.

Good luck all.

QPR are 8-0-0-8 away from home and Arsenal are showing signs of getting back to their best, at least where goals are concerned.  So I will have ARSENAL to beat QPR please.
