Tony Cottee Woz Ere . . .

Will the board have the balls to fire Adams

Recommended Posts

If the decline continues? With the squad at our disposal there is no excuse for Norwich City to reside outside of the top six, minimum, at any point this season. However I fear a plummet down the league looks increasingly imminent. Adams situation really does seem to be mirroring that of Grabban''s. A promising early start glossed over the large amount of fortune that both were afforded. However the luck has ran dry and worryingly both now seem to be getting found out. Adams lack of experience and tactical naivety are really costing us. As soon as we drop out of the playoff spots the board should be sharpening the axe in my opinion. There is no excuses this season, we will never have a better chance of getting promoted. Unfortunately the board have proven gutless in these situations time and time again in the past. Only admitting to their mistake and making a change once the ship has sailed. If Adams continues to fail in getting the best out of the riches at his disposal, considering what''s at stake, will this season be the exception to the rule?

They''ll leave it to the 11th hour, probably April 2016 after we fail to make the play-offs this season and are in 10th place next. Then they''ll carry out another exhaustive search round Europe for the next boss. Then they''ll announce Adrian Forbes as the new manager.

You have to give the manager the full season imo.  I said it of Hughton too.  The season is 46 matches, not 12 and the season can be won in the last few weeks of the season with a good run from mid table, if that is where we are.   The last thing we want is panic and a lack of belief.  That is what did for us last season imo.  Have faith in the people you have in charge, let them do their job, learn through experience or whatever it is they have to do - and get behind them.   There are plenty of fans who have their opinions about what should be done with this player or that, this formation or that, but Adams is in charge and has to get things right for himself.  Sometimes it takes longer.   Give him the season, if it is then deemed to not have been successful, then change if necessary.     Only if he loses the dressing room should a manager be sacked during a season. We are still near the top, with plenty of games for Adams to get the best from the players.   But he needs to show some balls in his team selections and get the right advice from whoever he talks to.

Yes, let''s sack the manager because we''ve deserved to win three games but haven''t managed to. In truth, the only decline has been in fortune: no one who has been to our last three games could say we weren''t the better side in each, but of course that means much less if you don''t win.

Obviously, if we go on a stupidly poor run where we lose badly and appear to have no idea, then binning the manager will happen - but we are a long long way shy of that and it is daft, but sadly unsurprising, that people are seriously thinking about it.

Criminal that he got the job when a manager of Lennons calibre was available and willing to do the job . £3 million on Grabban , £3 or maybe 4 million on a midfielder who cannot get a kick , numerous centre backs signed only to see Martin in the middle of defence . A poor appointment and to answer the question no they wont sack him that is untill its a lost cause much like last season .

If Grabban gets 20 this season he will be a steal at 3m. VOO has been getting his fitness up and will be huge for us this season. Can see him starting on Tuesday

Agree totally on the CH situation and I have made this point before. Turner,Hooiveld,Cuellar,Miquel and Bennett when fit and we play Martin there. May be ok for Scotland but not good enough for Norwich. Has Cuellar actually been in a squad? If not why did we sign him. Same as ONeil. If we ain''t gonna give them game time why did NA sign em. Fans thought they were good solid signings yet they aren''t involved when we persist in playing others out of position. Today we could have left out Olssen,Martin,Whittaker,Tettey,Hoolahan due to international games and still had a fresh enough quality team to succeed.

We''ve been weak in midfield for a number of seasons now yet we buy someone who''s supposedly better than what we have (post Fer) and don''t play them.Instead of buying a defensive playmaker and upgrading Fox and Surman, Adams goes and overstocks central defence despite having players who can fill in as needed (Bassong, Martin, Whittaker, Olsson). We''re relying on the same old formula of Tettey and Johnson in front of a strong defence at the expense of midfield creativity, but nevertheless dropping points when our tactically clueless manager predictably decides to go hell for leather.

No they will not, didn''t last season until too late...and the same will be true this season..I predict us finishing about tenth and will stick with that; wrong season with a strong squad to stick with s rookie manager.

Er no VOO wasn''t a regular when he signed for us. He had been injured for a while. C''mon keep up and read the news. Hopefully he is now fit to play his part. As for overstocking central defence. We haven''t had a central defence for two or three seasons. The problem is buying or loaning central defenders and not using them but playing a right back there instead. Adams has to use his squad. If it means dropping Martin or whoever it doesn''t matter. The team is all important

Whilst I have never been convinced, it is crucial that the club holds firm and has some patience as it is still very early doors. NA is making mistakes and will be learning from them , but he does need to learn faster and use that great squad better......a squad that has the quality to get automatic promotion....and that remains my expectation even with a learner driver at the wheel.

The obvious replacement for Adams is the latest "media darling" - Tony Pulis.

I therefore expect Adams to be sacked the week after Pulis gets a job.

Pulis wouldn''t come here having just won manager of the season in the hardest league in the world, he''ll be waiting for the right job, the same as Moyes

Good to see govt is increasing penalties against trolls. Maybe it will make some of the nasty, ignorant, abusive individuals that post on this message board realise how low their behaviour is.

The board and club are in a dilemma. He was a high risk appointment and there was not a lot of confidence in him among supporters most of whome were gobsmacked by his appointment. He has been allowed to wheel and deal in the close season and this is now his squad. It is a squad that for me looks the best in the division. The early positive results silenced the critics but a poor run of form has brought back the doubts. we need to be there or there abouts come the turn of the year when our larger squad should come into its own. Any competent manager should do well with this squad in this division. He needs to get on track again and quickly or there will be a new man at the helm by the end of the year

This ''T'' character seems to exist in the world of Godwin''s Law, as soon as a discussion reaches a point that stretches what is, quite obviously, beyond his (or her) comfort zone the purile accusations of trolling and alike flow freely.

Why, this after all is a forum where, for those of reasonable and sound mind understand that a discussion can take place so let''s give it a go shall we?

The original question is a reasonable one, possibly a little premature but none the less pertinent.

At no point this season does the management team appear to have a Plan B or C or D, we play one way and one way only and it''s starting to look costly.

Saturday was a classic demonstration of this, the team was set up the same way and at no point was there any attempt to change the shape, to ask some questions of Fulham, any scout for any club we are due to be playing will know very well what to expect.

So ''T'' I appreciate that any form of discussion that has its roots in the Greek traditions of forum and debate might not be to your liking but really, there are concerns and it really is appropriate to let a forum be just that, a forum.

I fear for T now he seems to have fallen foul of the Bury Massive. He will now probably be savaged by a load of long words nobody understands culmilating in being called the Forum Poppy Day [W]

It''s good that the forum has a complete range of different views on a wide variety of subjects. It''s also good that all these views are challenged. It makes for a healthy forum which is far better than some vanilla world where everybody agrees with eachother.

But T has a valid point. Some posters never see anything good to comment on. Now we have been lucky over the last six seasons where we''ve seen ups and downs and good and bad. You would imagine that posters on here would reflect that. But some never see the ups or the good. That''s their right but I don''t personally understand it and can see T''s point of view.

Can you imagine the laughing stock we''d be for sacking a manager who had us at the top of the table before losing to our bogey team?

If I feel sorry for anyone right now it is Brum fans who might get Hughton back now that Lee ''face like a smacked ar*e'' Clarke has been given the elbow.
