I actually feel sorry for Ipswich...

Recommended Posts

"How do I know all this? Because I''ve spent quality time with charismatic Mr Evans... catching up on his Ipswich Town dreams."

Oh it''s good stuff to read isn''t it, I salute the grovelling Nigel Pickover and for sharing with us the Ipswich Town dream.

Not going quite according to plan is it.

Shame.

No sympathy, would they feel sympathy for us if we were in their boat...nope.

They are finished as a club, no one not anyone is going to buy Ipswich. 82 million worth of debt and then giving the manager a transfer budget to be competitive who is going to do that for a small town club that can''t even fill its ground?

They should enjoy their time in the championship because those days will soon be long gone. Their only hope is to find a Paul Lambert character but even then you still need a little bit of money, 500,000 on a player would be a big lay out for them. They are done for decades and decades.

Would they mourn for us in the same position? Nope.

[quote user="lappinitup"][quote user="ricardo"]It would be nice if someone could dig up that pisstake at the Pickover interview because it was classic stuff.

Pickle Nigeover.

from above -

"The Blues have the backing of multi-millionaire owner Marcus Evans who has also sponsored the club.

It could be that this deal won’t affect Town as they are confident of winning promotion to the premiership and around £60m."

backing ................. as when you borrow £100 from Wonga and a month later you owe £250

what did happen to Operation Premiership ..........

............... and the Cresswell money, and the training ground ?

but are the binners downhearted

not in the least as these two fans can be seen heading for poorman road on the way to watching the derby against their wealthy neighbours

Then of course there is Sheepshanks. A man still lauded at Portaloo. "Sheepy" as they affectionately call him (well, those that didn''t get striped by him for 95p in the £1) still sits in comfort in the Padded Seats, often sharing a ruddy faced chuckle with an elderly player that adorns their "Legends" bar. Sheepy brilliantly  oversaw their promotion all those years ago, but strangely had nothing to with the cataclysmic dealings that resulted in their Administration (I wonder which passport Finidi uses these days?) and he slipped away to grab an OBE for that wonderful institution at St Georges Park, that has made such a difference to our national team. Incidentally St Georges started as a projected £30m spend, and ended at well north of £100m. But Sheepy always was good with cash.

But ITFC still have their stars. And whilst their fans cling to the FA Cup triumph long before any of their current players were actually born, they will continue on their slide into oblivion. Please let them carry on using up their energy on banners proclaiming that they are the Pride of the East, rather than waking up and smelling the overpriced coffee ,that their more expensive season ticket holders now need a voucher to collect.

Long may it continue. I just hope that if Sir Sheepy gets into dire medical straights he doesn’t do it at Portaloo . I doubt St John’s Ambulance will rush to assist....

Agreed Ricardo, the original was both hilarious and creepy. Rather made my skin crawl. The subsequent mickey take was spot on in its execution!

Cheers for sharing Lapps, made my morning!!

A few of the slightly more intelligent ones are starting to realise there may be a problem.

Stolen from TWTD......

"it''s over. Couple of turnstiles and pieces of turf still left on ebay if you''re quick. It was nice while it lasted."

It''d be marvellous to read Pick OverNigel''s take on current events.

To read him swoon in the presence of Marcus Evans and his glorious omnipotence, a man with Ipswich Town coursing through his veins as he sits quaffing pints of frothy Greene King IPA.

Not going quite according to plan is it Nigel?
