Russell Martin on the move?

Recommended Posts

Would be absolutely thrilled to see him go. Will be change of captain, and the self-inducted problem Adams has with selecting Martin because he is captain will disappear.

Not good enough anymore, sadly.

But the chance of him going is close to zero.

Been a great player over several years, and doesn''t owe us anything.

Why would a premiership club want him? He struggled at times with pace in the Prem, but so did many. Do''t know how old he is, but it must be upper 20s now. If he was going to move anywhere, I would expect it to be down a division, not up.

Would be a ridiculous move for Russ going to a tiny club. Yes they are in the Premiership, but it will only be for one season and he''d be playing in the Championship in front of 15,000 fans again next season.

None story, but many of us would have been happy with naughton a few years back and that would have had him as a squad player.

So he has been lucky to have so many first team games as we have developed. In regard to leader on the pitch I think we could have and should have bought a few players last summer/ January with those qualities, I think many of us also think that Bennett and turner would be the best pairing so there is no guarantee he would start but with our current predicament at the back he is relatively key, but it is an area we need these positions improved in the next window and next summer
