Michael Starr 515 Posted September 16, 2014 Some saw them as one of our main threats this season, currently bottom of the league with a very difficult away game coming up, do we think they can close the gap over time, or is it too late?

Haggerdoo 6 Posted September 16, 2014 I still think they will come good and make the playoffs - too early to write them off just yet
lappinitup 629 Posted September 16, 2014 I seem to remember Sunderland being in a similar position when Roy Keanne took over. The finished up winning the league.
Olly 0 Posted September 16, 2014 Can''t see Fulham doing what Sunderland did. They''ve brought awfully this sumer, buying a load of foreign players who will take long to adapt and getting rid of a lot of experienced players and then blowing a huge amount in one player. The longer they keep Magath the more likely they are to go down than go up
unique 434 Posted September 16, 2014 Yes.Goes to show that scouring the continent for your next manager is not necessarily a recipe for success.Having a massive fan of the club in charge doesn''t guarantee success either. But if enthusiasm is tempered with intelligence, tactical awareness and inside knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the up and coming youth players, plus acknowledgement that wins are key and endless draws won''t get you very far, then Norwich fans have much to savour with Adams at the helm, than Fulham and Cardiff fans have with Messrs Magath and OGS......... Dubai Mark 0 Posted September 16, 2014 In a league where you can lose something like a dozen matches yet still make the play-off''s, then NO...but, having said that they have made a terrible start and it will take a pretty quick turnaround to get them on the right path to challenge. It''s all a bit early to really make many judgments in this league, well any league, but in another half a dozen or so we will start to see things shape up as teams settle and get up to pace etc.
city4eva 202 Posted September 16, 2014 Their squad is poor, they will be in a relegation fight
Indy 3,232 Posted September 16, 2014 Considering that you need around 100 points to win this league, I would say at most they could make the play offs.Realistically I would say if they make mid table their fans would be happy after this start.

But then, that''s all their squad was, experienced players the majority of which were the wrong side of 30. Just go through who they let go. Some of them you''d have hardly heard of as it is. I''m surprised they were not relegated from the Prem sooner. When you then reflect upon our squad on relegation, it is relatively young. You''d want that, a nice mix of experience and players coming to their prime and youth. We have added a little bit more experience and one or two younger players. It was a brilliant squad to add to. BroadstairsR 2,096 Posted September 17, 2014 Fulham can write off this season already IMO. Too much to do and without the quality to do it.McGath has gone down like a ton of bricks there and the "Last dictator in Europe" will likely be out before the month is.They will likely perk up a bit under a new manager. Hughton anybody? There but for the grace of Delia.

ZLF 261 Posted September 17, 2014 I think Wigan were pretty much out of it last season but were still able to make the play off so its probably a little to soon to write any side off in what is a competetive yet still winnable league. However the probably wont do that while the fans want Penfold out and they will need to start winning soon, just hopefully not against us!!!
pete 318 Posted September 17, 2014 Magath will be gone soon which may improve Fulham but will need significant investment in January if a competent successor can be found. But there season is almost over by September as with Cardiff Solksjaer will be gone as well. Question is who goes first.
