Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 7

Recommended Posts

At this point I don''t know if we should be hoping the game doesn''t go ahead. A flooded pitch is going to take a lot of skill out of the game and even out what should be a very one sided match. Much more chance of Boavista fluking a result in these conditions.

I know bad pitches are a greal leveller. But one of the worst pitches I remember us playing on was Colchester''s in League One and it didn''t help them any[:D]

Game is under way but conditions are tricky to say the least. 0-0 after six minutes.

Don''t lose hope yet, they''re still good enough to win this with ten men. Still wish this bleeding game hadn''t kicked off though.

Yeah they''re comfortably the better team, even a man light. Most frustrating was that they had a two-on-one about 10 minutes into the match - the striker did exactly the right thing and squared it to the free man for a tap in... and the ball stopped in a puddle on the penalty spot.

Even with 10 men they were utterly dominant, 80% possession with ten men! The gulf between the teams was huge, but somehow it just didn''t fall for Porto.

Just as an extra kick in the guts (not for me mind, my 100% record remains intact), Dynamo Moscow scored two late goals to win 1-3. So we lost out due to a farcical pitch.

I saw that Splutcho! There were a lot of 100% records went. When I do the stats later you''ll see that only 24/53 PUPs were right this weekend. We''ve rarely had weeks like that over the 8 season''s we''ve been doing this. So Jav did fantastically well to get so close. That probably put a bit more force behind that kick though!! :(

At least we should get a free week next week!

Yes young  Jav did well this week. If he''d managed to get all six it would have been a hell of an achievement. Firstly a FANTASTIC 53 of you picked this week. I''m loving that. 24 were winning picks. (45%). 28 different suggestions were made of which 15 were successful (54%) So Jav was really up against it and yet got so close.

Not surprisingly a lot of good records in our league took a dent. But we still 7 perfect records left and it looks like our league will be keenly fought again this year. What a team we have!

So add to see myself sliding down the table after two ''banker'' results ending in draws over the past two weeks. Unlucky all as Nutty said it was against us this week. But never mind, I''m feeling a winner next week!

Gutted to see my 100% record go on what was my biggest banker of the season so far, as well as my ''second team'' abroad!Nigel, I would love a go at picking the ''magic six'' one week this season - I tried (and failed!) on the match bet last season, but would relish the opportunity to bring it home for the PUPs at some point.

I''m well looking forward to you getting a go at the final six FTW. The rota is made up of the previous season''s top40 PUPs. You joined too late in the season to get on that but all is not lost. There will inevitably be extra spaces and I will get you one of them if I possibly can. May well be later in the season if it happens. In the meantime you will definitely get another go at the Norwich bet. Please keep picking buddy we all need your help.

If I don''t get the chance this season, I will definitely be near the top of the top 40 pickers anyway (he said confidently), so I''ll get my turn next season. You can rely on my vote [:)]
