PurpleCanary 6,142 Posted August 1, 2014
Who was in the side last season is only a guide, in the last few seasons we have bought in 5-6 new guys. Ultimately, we are a Champs side playing a team from the Spanish top flight who would certainly not expect to be beaten by us whoever is playing for them.
Except that Celta Vigo are playing Wolves tomorrow, so will almost certainly have split their squad up for these two games, and are still just over three weeks away from the start of their season. I would have preferred a less glamorous fixture against a close to match-fit League One or even League Two side trying out its best eleven for next weekend. Molly Windley 76 Posted August 1, 2014 Sounds like Celta are pressing the ball and we cannot break out, nice little test to see if NA can sort it out.Only one holding midfielder in Johnson playing against good opposition. We sound good with the ball, but can we get hold of it to use it? Yelloow Since 72 56 Posted August 1, 2014 Lafferty has been replaced by E. Bennett and Redmond has moved into the centre alongside Grabban.
Yelloow Since 72 56 Posted August 1, 2014 The formation has changed to a diamond.
Phillip J Fry 0 Posted August 1, 2014 Substitution makes sense. Celta Vigo are pressing high up the pitch and playing a high defensive line. With more pace on the pitch, you can attack the space behind the defence more easily (doesn''t have to be a perfectly weighted pass, doesn''t have to be an excellently timed run). Also, if struggling defensively, E.Bennett is more likely to track back and defend than Redmond or Grabban when played out wide. Horse Renoir 1 Posted August 1, 2014 It sounds like a good competitive work out which is great but the best result is our new striker banging a few in at Carrow Road already, that confidence boost just makes him that much more likely to convert a few early chances
Branston Pickle 4,026 Posted August 1, 2014 Spot on, Darth - a good workout, hopefully no new (serious) injuries and we''re set for the off next weekend!
zemas tendon 0 Posted August 1, 2014
27 - GOAL: Norwich City 2-1 Celta Vigo (Nolito)The visitors halve the deficit as Michael Krohn-Dehli plays in Nolito, who finds the corner of Ruddy''s net.
You seriously need to get out more? Fried Cheese 0 Posted August 1, 2014 Good workout that. Hard work when you don''t get the ball. Great early spell first half. A few good spells in the second, with a chance or two to snatch it. Overall fairly positive about the season ahead. We could learn a thing or two from their 2 touch, pass and go football. Enjoyed it a lot. Need to keep possession better. Need to keep up the attacking intent. Love it.
