Houhton's pay off ?

Are we still paying Houhtons wages at Premier rates ?Everyone one took a 50% pay cut when we were relegated but bearing in mind we were still in the Prem when he was sacked, are we now paying the final year of his contract at the Prem level ?If so this would explain 2 things:-Why the Board were hanging on to him for grim death, because if he was sacked after the season finished his pay off would reflect the league we were still inHe has not applied for any jobs in the champs, if we continued to pay him each month any job below prem level would mean a massive paycut as our payments would ceaseAny one know what the situation is or wether we agreed a termination settlement with the man ?

I hope we did the honourable thing and paid him (Hughton) what was stated in the contract we offered him when we headhunted him from Birmingham but I''m sure someone who''s more informed about HR & Contract law issues will tell you what usually happens in these situations.

I think McNally may well have implemented clause V1 section ii 1(b) more commonly known as the Ipswich defense, that being we assure him right up to the moment his contract was terminated that we would pay the remainder of his contract in full... then don''t. We also trousered all the NI payments made and have kept some of his personal effects which were auctioned off on Ebay.
