The championship isn''t the worst league on the planet. I''m sure half a season or a whole one won''t damage his career. Why is it certain he''s not just happy to stick around for the year and help us out? He''s no world cup to think of next summer and he might quite like to be settled for his first year of married life (yes footballers are humans too, look at why Holty moved).If you were a player, you''d rather play in a winning team than one struggling in the rung above to an extent right? He could come out of this season with 10+ goals, a POTS award and be back in the premiership.
