Is the club really being honest with us fans?
Absolute garbage!!! I have no agenda at all, its not using it other than the FACT it WAS said or were you asleep all that day? If anyone has an agenda then it is you as you do not like the fact people have an opinion that is different to yours, all I have done is quote FACTS, but lets not let the truth get in the way of our fantastically run little old Norwich hey?
The only problem is that it isn''t a fact, no-one said that they "scoured Europe", here''s the quote;

Malky Mackay, Gianfranco Zola and Neil Lennon were all rumoured to be in the running for the City vacancy, but Bowkett defended the time taken by the board to decided to appoint Adams.

“The reason we took longer than we wanted to take was because we did a review of the German market, the Italian market, Spanish market, the whole of the British Isles, to find the candidate who stood the best chance of getting us promotion as soon as possible,” Bowkett said.

“And the things we were looking for, as well as experience, is some of the basic things such as coaching skills, leadership, vision hard work, a progressive attitude, hunger for the job and the commitment to do it the Norwich way and Neil easily come top of that in terms of those various attributes.”

The use of the word market is interesting there. It indicates that the board, keeping in mind our specific circumstances, looked at potentially available managers from a wide variety of sources but that they had to be realistic targets. There was no chance of us taking a Bundesliga coach, not without premier league football, so we would be looking at managers in the lower tiers (2.Bundesliga, Liga Aldente etc.) or coaches that had yet to take a full-time position or managers who were out of work (such as Hyypia). When you keep that in mind, it can seem possible that Adams was the most impressive candidate. Not only did he have previous achievements (winning the Fa Youth cup with Norwich was actually quite impressive), he had a long-term connection to the club (which meant there''d be no adaption period) and he had good coaching qualifications (UEFA A licence) as well. If, as reported, he interviewed well then it can actually seem quite understandable why the board chose him.
Phillip, the other significant qualifier in that statement is "hunger for the job". Code for "Adams wanted it more than Malky Mackay did." That, as you indicate, was a very carefully-crafted statement. It didn''t actually say we had scoured Europe, nor did it say Adams had been our first choice. Yet some fans asserted it had done both those things.

What is the matter with you lot?If the deal was not signed, did you really expect Adams to say "yes we are in the process of sellin Fer to QPR right now".Do you ever hear that?Would you say it if you were in charge?Idiots.

All managers lie, they have to, to protect the best interests of the club and our players. There no point journalists asking probing questions because they''ll always get a lie and there''s no point in any of us believing them.

Bottom line is, we don''t need to sell but as a Championship club we have no choice but to sell for 8 Million plus, especially as nobody bar Ruddy is really worth anywhere near that.

After the chats Adams had with the players it''s very obvious Bassong, Becchio, Pilkington and Bunn said they didn''t want to be here, the reasons behind him covering from them are blatantly obvious

...Eh I''m rambling, basically just use your head guys!

He did indeed as did Bowkett who not in the exact words but the sentiment was the same.

If the board and manager aligned themselves to the same then Adams could just say "I know nothink at this time and we will wait to see who is available"

It appears as the board are selling players who Adams would have wanted to keep.

Like I said it has looked a little disjointed between the manager and board and Adams might have bern the only manager to accept the limited funds and reduction in the squad thus he''s our manager.

For me a good gamble, but a gamble non the less.

Can those who have different opinions please keep their comments to a sociable level and stop being so pedantic.

None of us know everything but most use what has been reported or said to base opinions.

Keep it civil.

This is arguing over semantics,,, we all know what the intended insinuation was when " that" statement was given .

Subsequent statements ,, probably drafted by the same hand ,, as equally as misleading ,, as shown by the legion of interpretations on this forum .

The same deception we are all used to, but this time using different weasel words. Yet the same people come on here trying to defend and deny, all paid by the same club.
