Our team is being deliberately talent diluted

Recommended Posts

I recall when we were relegated quite a few years back the first team all agreed to stay with the club for one second division season as they felt responsible for the relegation. The seasoned and matured ones amongst us will remember the details. The loyalty of modern players is to themselves only not to the club or it''s supporters. In essence that means it is only the supporters that feel the pain of relegation the players jump ship to keep afloat.
We got promoted = we bought top players

We got relegated = we sold top players for profit

Simple really.
Agree

I have been thinking about those relegation wage reduction clauses and in hindsight they have been very effective.

If a player feels a debt to the club they can stay on the lower wage etc etc

However the ones who do not want to stay will try their hardest and be a flexible as possible to get out the door.

The club also has the power as they are not being paid the full market rate and the players do not fight to hard for exit payments etc and are willing to join any premier league club who offers the best to City (ergo no fussy for a lower paying better team as on a high wage) .

The exiting players have been very professional and everyone seems to have worked together to get the club the best deals on those heading off.

Its now up to the manager to bring in his players and if we get another 3+ players it will be NAs team and he cannot moan if he blows it.

He signings have been good so far bring on tonight.

when I am 20k + a week I have a mansion to pay for (even a decent house in NR2/4 450k+) and a hot girlfriend with high expectations his and hers range rovers etc etc.

Cut that 20k to 10 and it hurts not like the first example but it does and you most likely have to get or your arse and find another job.

I don''t blame any player who is professional and helps us get top dollar.

We have no loyalty to players who loose their talent the other way around.

For example "x player he is a good signing to get up up and get rid once in the premier league". Which i have seen on twitter a few times regarding potential signings.

Prudence with absolutely no ambition since Adams'' appointment, and continued since. More of the same to come so get used to it. Will be interesting to see if some of those interest free loans being called in from when finances weren''t so great!

We''ve had an unmitigated disaster for the past 2 years, but the only non-playing staff to have lost their jobs as a result are Hughton and his lackeys. How much are the board being paid for running this shambles and why haven''t any of them been booted out?

It seems a lot of people are still unaware after all these years, one of the longest recessions in modern history and the number of failed football clubs that directors have a legal obligation to act prudently.

All those over the years who criticise the clubs prudence with ambition policy are just writing they have absolutely no clue about reality or business.

The interest loans were going to be settled last year.

Indeed, it''s austerity after the Hughton debacle, just as it was for UK PLC after the Brown debacle.

Putting wind up merchants and binners aside for a moment some of the comments on this board are quite alarming. Snodgrass, RvW & Fer were all highly unlikely to drop down to the Championship and Pilkington was long rumoured to want away.

There is a big difference between ''not needing to sell'' and trying to keep players against their will, especially when there is a considerable profit to be made. Every club who gets relegated loses players, its par for the course. Look at our bench tonight and add Hooper & Howson to that, we have an excellent squad for this division even without the three or four signings which are likely to follow over the next couple of weeks.

Of course the jury will be out on Neil Adams for a few fixtures yet but he''s made a pretty good start. Plenty to be positive about.
