Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 3

Recommended Posts

Welcome PUPs to week three of our Rays Funds season. This week we have Swindon

Canary in charge and making the final selections. Once again we were incredibly

unlucky last weekend going down by just one result. I think Swindon is just the

man to go one better and get us our first win of the season. One of our top

PUPs Swindon has never dropped below 80% in our league and finished last season

with 31/37 84% winning selections. Martin’s started this season in the same

vein with 2/2 winning selections already. Now you PUPs were at your very best

last weekend with 45/49 PUPs picking correctly. Anything like that sort of form

will give Swindon an outstanding chance of being successful this weekend. Don’t

forget your selection must be played on Sat/Sun/Mon this weekend and be lister

on Bet365 or William Hill web sites.

For the Norwich match bet I’d like to welcome Paul to the thread. Paul

has never taken part before and yet was generous enough to support us this

season. I was overwhelmed by the support we received from Paul and others who

stepped forward so I’m really pleased he get’s his chance to follow up Crabby’s

great in in the match bet last weekend. Let’s give him a great choice of

suggestions for our exciting derby game on Saturday. Good luck Paul, we have £6

to spend so you can choose up to six selections either from the PUPs

suggestions or of your own. And please stick around for the season buddy. We

need your help with the main bet too.

I’ve provisionally set the rotas for September. These are for the final

six : -

Sept 6th  Vindo

Sept 13th Gravycanaries

Sept 20th Javier''s

Deaf Translator

Sept 27th Splutcho

And for the

match bet : -

Sept 13th Parma

ham''s gone mouldy

Sept 20th Bor

Bor Bor

Sept 27th Mr

Apples

In both cases

if the dates are unsuitable let me know and I’ll try and change it around.

If any of you do the Sky Sports Super6 just for fun I made a PUPs mini

league on there. A few of us have joined, if you do the Super6 please join it.

The league code is 1LTW0K.

Now Ill hand the thread over to Swindon

and Paul. Remember theres no pressure

because we are all going to be doing our best to help you get by your names in

the Rays Funds Hall of Fame. We all stand together with the single aim of

raising money for the Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Martin and Paul ... the thread is

yours.......[:)].........

As always I leave you with

Ray’s signature which now reads :-

Carve their names with

pride.Yankee,5,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,

A Sunday offering from Russia for you this week and

Dinamo Moscow (3-0-1 12-6) v Ural (0-1-3 4-8) - Home Win

For the match bet how about HT/FT Draw/Norwich. (Although I notice a 5-1 City win is 100/1)

Best of luck Swindon, Paul and all you PUPs.

Having had a decent look at Chelsea on Monday, I have to say a CHELSEA home win against Leicester would be my choice this week.  Good luck one and all.

I''m going for a home win for Sporting against Arouca in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, mainly because I have never heard of Arouca! Odds are 2/7.

Best of luck to Swindon Canary and all PUPs.

Hello Nutty, the 27th is fine, however in the interest of fairness... I''m pretty sure I didn''t make the top 40 last year if that''s a problem?

As for my pick this week, I will go to division 1 in Finland, where 4th place FC Haka (33 points from 20 games) take on bottom of the table FC Viikingit (6 points from 20 games) who have lost 6 on the bounce.

The odds aren''t brilliant at 1/8, but should be a safe bet.

For the big one, Norwich 3-2 win is 28-1.

Many seasons ago I picked the final six. It was a disaster! Shortly after the sixth game ended a poster called we8wba posted the comforting and supportive words "you weren''t even close mate!". I tried to forget it (was quite difficult because Arrdee would remind me from time to time[:D]) Those words rank alongside those of my old physics teacher who once told me in front of the whole class "try writing your homework with your left foot next week". So you see Splutcho, I finished in the Fab40 but am still traumatised so shan''t be selecting the final six. You finished just outside the Fab40 and to save me further embarrassment you will be[;)]

A very good morning (or is it a late night) to you Nutty, very good luck to you Swindon Canary and Paul but of course not forgetting all you other lovely PUPs out there.

Off to Spain and a HOME WIN for REAL MADRID v Cordoba.

For the Norwich bet Tettey to score anytime at 11/2 seems reasonable.

Hi everyone, I''m going to agree with JB''s choice of Rangers vs Dumbarton (home win). This match has a certain City flavour as two of the worst players ever to pull on the famous shirt are involved...Steven Smith (currently playing for Rangers) and Ian Murray (currently manager of Dumbarton)...living in Scotland I sadly know such things!!!

For the City bet I''m going to go for Bradley "Pirlo" Johnson to make it a hat-trick of goals in games and score anytime.

All the best and good luck to the PUPs and COME ON CITY on Saturday!!!

Austria for me please, Red Bull Salzburg to beat SCR Altach.

The derby is the only match I never bet on. Far too important for that. I see Paul has already made his selections though so no matter.

I''m going for a home win for PAOK v. Kallonis.

Last season PAOK were W16 D1 L0 F41 A8 at home and Kallonis were W4 D1 L12 F13 A37 away.

Good Luck, Swindon Canary!

Going to Northern Ireland this week, where after three games second place Cliftonville host Glenavon. The home side are unbeaten, and Glenavon are 1/1/1.

Like the look of the Norwich bets Paul, I probably would have recommended something to do with a booking. Red looks like a good bet.

Cliftonville vs Glenavon- Home win.

Good luck :)

My (dubious) choices are:

Everton/Arsenal draw (at 5/2); and

Norwich to win 2-1 (17/2)

As ever, look elsewhere to win

Going to be brave this weekend and face our demons in Norway! Molde cost us a win in week one after throwing away a two goal lead. I''m hoping they''ve learned their lesson and won''t maker the same mistake at home to lowly Alesund.

Molde          v          Alesund          Home Win

Good luck all our fantastic team of PUPs!

Thank you for these Paul. There''s some great bets there which will add to our PUPs enjoyment on Saturday. I can''t find a red card market buddy. Probably me being blind as usual so a pointer to it would be great.

SPLUTCHO.... looks like I need you again buddy[;)]

I would have gone with a City win and Grabban to score for the City bet but poor Paul had a premature selection. [:$] [;)] [:D]Good luck everyone. [Y]
