Bill 1,788 Posted June 18, 2014 so if they played those games at different times ...... they would get different results ?
Bury Green 0 Posted June 18, 2014 There does seem to be more than a little truth in the suggestion that the fixture computer isn''t entirely open and honest in such matters. Not that I''m suggesting some sort of Alex Jones 9/11 type conspiracy but when the Premier League wants you gone having a run in like this is very much a Sword of Damocles to contend with. Jim Smith 2,317 Posted June 18, 2014 Interesting also that man United, having whinged last season about their tough start, happen to have just about the easiest run of fixtures possible to start their season. I know that people will say that everyone has to play the same teams twice over the course of the season but I definitely think how the fixtures fall can have a huge bearing on how your season pans out. So much can be about confidence and momentum and having a run of 5 or 6 tough games at a key point in the season can prevent you from picking up either.Man United should have a good season now, in part because they should be challenging at the top from the outset and will be able to take confidence and build momentum from that.Sadly with the 5 games he had last season Adams was not able to do that despite some improvement in performances. had he had a couple of home games v the likes of West Brom and Stoke (like Hughton wasted in the weeks leading up to his sacking) then it probably would have been very different.
