lappinitup 629 Posted June 15, 2014 Obviously just a rumour and Coventry want £3m for him but at 22, an excellent prospect.http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/brentford-news-transfer-rumours-bees-7270384

Nicko 0 Posted June 16, 2014 Good player. Not worth the cash though. He had a good half season at Cov before he got injured. He''s blessed with raw pace but he''s not quite ready yet.

lappinitup 629 Posted June 19, 2014 "The (Coventry) Telegraph understands that Brentford, Norwich, Bournemouth and Wolves are the clubs closing in on the 22-goal forward who is valued at between £2m-£3m, although it’s unlikely that the Sky Blues would even consider a bid unless it was over the £3m mark.Pressley maintained his and the club’s stance this week, insisting again that: “The current situation is he’s not for sale.”But the City boss admits: “When you have got four clubs involved the bidding can become very aggressive.“But as I have stressed before, the situation is Callum is a player we don’t want to lose and is an integral part of what we want to create here.”Nottingham Forest and Reading have also been linked with the 22-year-oldbut development director Steve Waggott has already dismissed the Forest interest and it’s understood that reports of Reading being in the hunt are wide of the mark. However, the club have rejected two bids from Bournemouth who have sold their leading scorer, Lewis Grabban, to Norwich for £3m.And it’s understood that new Canaries’ boss Neil Adams is keen to link Grabban up with Wilson and, with parachute payments to boost his budget after being relegated from the Premier League, he would appear to have the spending power to test Coventry’s resolve.Newly promoted Brentford are also understood to be in the mix for Wilson after cooling their interest in Fulham frontman Marcello Trotta, while Wolves continue to monitor the situation after expressing a verbal interest."http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/steven-pressley-admits-hes-braced-7294958

lappinitup 629 Posted July 3, 2014 "Callum Wilson has taken a dramatic step closer to leaving Coventry City after being given permission to speak to two clubs. The Telegraph understands that the Sky Blues have received bids of over £3million – believed to be from Bournemouth and Norwich City – for the star striker who has also attracted interest from Brentford and Wolves. That figure was enough to trigger the debate as to whether it was time to cash in on the 22-goal speed merchant or retain his services for at least another year. The club are also up against the fact that the 22-year-old Cov Kid is facing a life-changing increase in wages, which could easily triple, as well as the prospect of retaining an unhappy player once his head has been turned.Wilson and his representative are understood to be in discussions with two clubs who now have to convince him which is the better option in terms of his development.City have always maintained that they would love to keep him but that there is a tipping point, which has clearly been reached with the size of the bid which arguably exceeds his valuation for a player who has played just one season at first team level.Bournemouth, who have already seen two offers rejected for Wilson, have the financial clout after Adam Lallana completed his reported £25m transfer from Southampton to Liverpool, banking them an estimated £6m in sell-on fees.Cherries’ boss Eddie Howe has lost last season’s top scorer Lewis Grabban to his rival for his signature, Norwich City, and has outlined the Coventry forward to replace him. They received a reported £3m for Grabban which could bring their spending kitty to around £9m following the cash boost from Lallana’s sale. The Canaries, meanwhile, have plenty of cash from parachute payments after dropping out of the Premier League."http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/callum-wilson-given-permission-coventry-7367059
mrs miggins 0 Posted July 3, 2014 I hope we can get him, looks like the boys got some pace and is a great age to be scoring for fun in league
lappinitup 629 Posted July 3, 2014 Bournemouth couldn''t match the terms we could offer but he would probably be a regular starter for them which might swing it.If we do get him, Grabban, Lafferty and Wilson seems a more sensible deal than spending it all on one player ie Rhodes. Canary Willo 0 Posted July 3, 2014 For me, we will need 5 strikers next season with 46 games, of which so many will be scrappy games, hence we also need players who understand the ''style'' of football that will be delivered at away games in November to February. I can''t see Becchio staying and I think one of Hooper and RVW if not both will go. If that is the case, it will only leave us with 4 anyway. And the good news is it will be an attack with pace height hunger and an understanding of what to expect. Add in Loza and to me it looks like strength in depth. Also, we need to be covered in case any last minute bids fall on the desk on 31st August, we will struggle to find replacements, like the Harry Kane scenario.............. mrs miggins 0 Posted July 3, 2014 I can''t see us selling hooper, it would be too much of a stupid move for us to do, there would be no point considering how good he is, especially when up against these sort of defenders
jaemae2 0 Posted July 3, 2014 Yes, he''s SOOOOOOOOO good he scored 3 goals from run of play in 32 games, he''s fantastic.... The idiocy is laughable. It would be the brightest thing in the world for this team to get this overpaid garbage off the team. Let him fail at another Championship club, as no PL team will be dumb enough to put a bid in.
mrs miggins 0 Posted July 3, 2014 are you that stupid to think there is no chance he''ll be good in this league? He was fantastic in the championship for scunthorpe (who as a team were very average) then he went to celtic where he is now considered to be nearly as good as H. Larsson. Please do not go on about idiocy when the facts are there to see. You would have a point if we were still in the PL, but we''re not, we''re the level where statistically we know Hooper is very very good in.Does this mean he''s certain to do well this year - no, but its more than likely he will....''idiocy is laughable''
