MancCanary 0 Posted July 4, 2014 No great surprise - he will play 40+ games for Bournemouth, but would find it much much harder to get ahead of the calibre of strikers we have at Carrow Rd. Maybe 1p5wich should''ve bid for him as you have no decent strikers at all? Oh.. You couldnt even afford him. Sorry.
Mike 0 Posted July 4, 2014 Disagree, he has turned us down because we did not impress him enough. But hey McNally is great in the transfer market... not impressed at all to be honest. One of our targets thinks he''ll progess more at Bournemouth more than us. Howe established manager, Adams a youth coach...

ReadingCanary 0 Posted July 4, 2014 Bournemouth can give him like every game...Here he would be competing withWolfswinkel... Grabban.... Old Shuck 183 Posted July 4, 2014 ^^^ What Reading said. Too many people manipulating every scenario to suit their agenda, whatever it is, they can find fault with the club in its happening. Linked with Wilson. "Can''t believe we''re being linked with a player from Coventry, he''ll be rubbish, don''t sign him, lack of ambiton bla bla bla" Wilson signs for Bournemouth "Can''t believe he''s signed for Bournemouth ahead of us, we''re rubbish, couldn''t sign a player from a League One team, lack of ambition bla bla bla" Whatever does happen next, it''ll be twisted into something malignant as usual. Watch this space...

The Great Wall Of Tettey 0 Posted July 4, 2014 Pretty logical decision from Wilson I imagine. Grabban leaves Bournemouth and he''s clearly the one to fill that void. At 22 he really wants to start games and not sit on the bench, which I think he may well be doing for a lot of Norwich games. Can''t fault what Adams is doing though, searching for young & hungry goalscorers!

GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,735 Posted July 4, 2014 its ironic that we''ve possibly lost out to Bournemouth because they were funded by the money we gave them for Grabban.......maybe we should have signed Wilson first??
Surfer 1,547 Posted July 4, 2014 He''s made the sensible choice of moving to a club where he will probably be an automatic first team choice, instead of (maybe) coming here just to sit on our bench.... if he does well he can move again in a coupe of years. Newton 0 Posted July 4, 2014 Loads of potential but would not be a def starterIf he was truly ambitious he would have chosen us because he would believe he could force his way into the team and help get us up to the premHe chose Bournemouth what does that say about him, do we want someone with that mind set ? /

Salopian 1 Posted July 5, 2014 In the same position as Wilson, I would probably make the same decision. I hope that Norwich have more potential than Bournemouth, but I wouldn''t want to spend a lot of time on the bench. I would want to be getting regular football, and he will probably get that at Bournemouth, where he could be the stand-out star.
jaemae2 0 Posted July 5, 2014 When he was competing for time against the likes of Gary Hooper, he wouldn''t have been on the bench here. Disappointing, would have been a much better upgrade over Hooper...

lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel) 0 Posted July 5, 2014 How ever you choose to sugar coat it, losing out to Bournemouth is alarming. It doesn''t give much confidence in Neil Adams ability to recruit players. The likelihood is that RVW, Hooper and Becchio will all leave before September, so there is not as much competition as many think. He would have got plenty of game time I''m sure. Adams has stared that who knows who wants to leave and who wants to stay, implying that there are a few in the squad wanting out. My guess is the current forwards - hence the reason we have signed two new forwards, and trying to get a third.
Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted July 5, 2014 IMO it is not alarming at all. Whoever we end up with and whatever way you look at it, he''d have been second or third choice player here, or a first choice there and his decision to join Bournemouth is actually quite refreshing - he went for his own progression over the money.I believe we poached Grabban from under the noses of Cardiff (and others), that is surely a far better indication of things. lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel) 0 Posted July 5, 2014
That conversation in full "We''d like to sign you, but even if RVW, Hooper and Becchio leave, you''ll be the third choice striker"
There is no way anyone trying to sign a striker would tell them they would be 2nd or 3rd choice. Especially when we are serious enough to offer such a large sum. We wanted this kid, we tried to get him but he preferred to go to Bournemouth.
Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted July 6, 2014 From the local Bournemouth rag: "...the prospect of regular football tempted Wilson to choose Cherries above the Canaries, who have a raft of striking options at their disposal, including former Dean Court forward Grabban."He knew he''d be third choice, we hardly had to tell him!
mrs miggins 0 Posted July 6, 2014 and why do you think that was lincoln. why would he do that? Is it because bournemouth are a better club with a better manager than us, or is it because Bournemouth don''t have any strikers and need him whereas we have about seven? Just think about it, the argument about adams is valid, but its not the sole reason for him not coming here.

Herman 9,716 Posted July 6, 2014 And as has been mentioned Coventry got not only a good lump of cash, with McNally''s fingerprints on, but also 2 long term loan players, with an option of a third. It was probably a much better deal for them than we were offering.

Adams is obviously expecting strikers to leave, hence why he has signed two and trying for a third! So the competition for places argument is hardly relevant either.
