Blackpool disgrace

Recommended Posts

Not sure who I feel sorry for most up at blackpool, the fans or David Perkins!

The fans really deserve better, only 8 players on the books with 3 weeks until the season starts, although Karl Oyston (owner) has no worries as this will allow manager Jose Riga to build his own squad, that''s providing he is still manager after Saturday as his future will be decided by Oyston after the two are in dispute over transfers!

Make you appreciate what we have here..

Oh and just incase you wondered..

David Perkins is the only midfielder at the club..he could be busy!

They were in the prem like 4 or 5 years ago. Thats pretty terrible. Make Leeds look like a well run club.

When they got relegated their majority shareholder transferred £11m from Blackpool''s account to his own account. Which he was entitled to do, his business and he can draw dividends from it or draw loans from it whenever he wants. But that should tell you what his motivation is.Then you have that awful temporary stand which loads of people have fallen through and hurt themselves in, usually away fans. It won''t be long until he is selling the land that the ground sits on to a property developer.

Blackpool have a shoddy temporary stand which houses away fans, and people keep falling through it and injuring themselves.Cardiff fan: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-21166005Sheff Wed fan: http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic/162779-sheffield-wednesday-fan-falls-through-blackpools-stand-photo-of-hole/It first happened in 2009 and has happened several times since. The fans stand on chipboard stuff and it is hollow underneath, people have literally fallen through the stand. Read this: http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/index.php?t=msg&th=347280&start=0&rid=0And this: http://www.backhenrystreet.co.uk/thread-8535.html#.U8hRArGTGHgIt is really dodgy and yet Blackpool still got a safety certificate, another really dodgy Oyston thing clearly, probably involving a bribe.

Ok thanks for the reply GM, I didn''t realise that.

The only thing that I find semi amusing is the fact that blackpool demolished their previous open air temporary stand back in 2010, and quickly replaced with a more modern roofed temporary stand primarily for their PL season!

So I was therefore assuming that the allegations referred to the previous temp stand rather than the current version, though obviously not!

"Championship side Blackpool, who were in the Premier League as

recently as 2012, are now of the verge of becoming a laughing stock.

The Tangerines have lost an incredible 28 players since the end of

last season, leaving manager José Riga has a pathetic eight registered

players ahead of the new campaign.

Incredibly, Blackpool don’t have a goalie on their books.

With their squad barely there at the moment, the club were forced to

play their pre-season friendly against amateurs Penrith with five

players called ‘trialist’ in their team. Moreover, Blackpool had two

more ‘trialist’ players on the bench.

As to the result, Blackpool won the game 2-0, and two triaists (or perhaps one trialist with a brace) hit the back of the net.

See the comically sad tweets Blackpool posted during their 4-0 win over Penrith."

Sounds like rather than it being a hard luck story after being relegated, the whole thing is down to gross mismanagement. Its a shame, because its always the fans that suffer, and it is all so avoidable.

A little early to judge Blackpool as a force then, as the jury is out in them at least until they sign some players......[;)]

Agreed, would be harsh to start slating the board, manager or players before they''d even kicked a ball, wouldn''t it?

"because its always the fans that suffer"what fans might they be ?te gobsh ites i met down Prince of Wales road telling us we should get a real backer in ?the cretin with the drum ?the thousands who turned up for the play off finals then quickly melted away when they were relegated ?fans mostly get what they deserve as very, very rarely do they question things when they are having successfind a binner who thinks that they should repay some of those they stole money from, if they got promoted ....... and I will find you a six legged horse

Its interesting how other clubs/fans view us.  To many we were awful last season, inept in every way - and that is all they remember.   In reality, with the change of manager we kept the team focused right to the end of the season.   The positivity started before we were relegated and other clubs'' fans and media have missed this imo.  We have regenerated a postive mindeset on a financially good set up - and that will surprise some when the season starts.
