''The technique of the goal* on the last day of the season at Carrow Road was sensational he played very well against us.''
*referring to Ramsey''s goal on the last day of the season
Listen again, he is referring to two different games.
Maybe. Confused [*-)]
Probably. Embarrassed [:$]
Philip - you and I are correct. The quote below is exactly right - any one saying this is two different games needs an extra "AND" in this sentence and even then its still incorrect to refer to "US" as Cardiff when a) they aren''t mentioned in the sentence and b) why would you refer to us as a club that sacked you!

Listen to it again.  There is a lot of background noise and it sounds as if he is finding it difficult to hear himself speak. Because of the difficulty in talking/hearing himself - he is speaking fast - and simply breathes where he would say the word "and" -  as in "and" he played well against us.

In no way possible was he talking about Norwich at that point.        His referral to Cardiff as ''us'' would be because to him, they are still his players/club.  He would not remotely be thinking about Norwich in "us" terms, even if he is to become our manager.

He referred to Cardiff as "us", not Norwich. If you listen properly he says Ramsey played well at Carrow Road on last day and played against "us", meaning the Cardiff/Arsenal game the interviewer had previously mentioned. Not referring to Norwich as "us". Definitely not.
