Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 997 Posted May 28, 2014 I do not think Bradley Johnson is rubbish, he is very good at the defensive side of his game, where he goes wrong is attempting the "Hollywood" pass, illustrated perfectly by the third Liverpool goal at CR this season. There is nothing wrong with a defensive midfielder winning the ball and giving it to somebody who is more creative/a better passer, even if it means just laying the ball off a couple of yards, BJ just needs to learn this. Football is a very simple game, defensive midfielder protects the back four, breaks up play and give the ball to a more creative player to build an attack......... splutcho 160 Posted May 28, 2014 If he hasn''t learnt in three years I can''t see him suddenly getting it now.
Canary On The Wire 0 Posted May 28, 2014 Anticipating the play is more in terms of tracking runners than making interceptions. I would attribute his interception making to his strong work in closing down more than any actual skill in anticipation
