what''s annoying is that last season under Hughton we were able to go away from home, keep it tight and grind out points.  This season we''ve lost that ability and it has got worse since Christmas.  Why ?

It''s annoying that he spent plenty of money in the summer but the team performance has declined compared to last year and has declined this season after Christmas.

Reason simple no target man. The ball comes back too quickly and apart form odd goals a decent target man relieves the pressure and brings the midfield into play

That''s just too simple, there is no single issue to base our failure on. We just were not good enough all over the pitch. There were the odd games when we shone, the odd moments of brilliance but for the majority of the time we were second best. It''s a failure on behalf of the whole Club - Board, Management and Players - with the exception of the fans.

That is a shocking set of statistics for Houghton''s CV. Good job we sacked him when we did or we would have even less goals and points on the road.

I think the club is as much the fans as it is the board and players.  If the fans start getting too moany about things - as some plainly did, even before the first kick of last season - then that does have an effect on players and the club in general.      That, combined with the hangover effect of Lambert going, gave the whole club an air of  "oh it can''t be as good as it was" - which was true - it was never going to be the same after Lambert.

So what you get is a negative vibe.   If people deny it they are in denial.   If the fans can be the twelfth man on the pitch then the opposite is true too - they can have a bad effect on things too.    It isn''t just our club - its true of any club.   Once the fans start getting too negative about things, then it makes it hard for everyone.    Hughton isn''t blameless, his method didn''t work well enough often enough, neither are the board blameless.   What people don''t recognise is that they are part of what happens.  Fans are part of what goes on.  If people think they just go along to CR and have no effect, good or bad, then to my mind there is no point them going.    Our fantastic support is just that - but if people would just recognise they do have a part to play, it might make them think more before they start shouting and moaning too much.

So imo it was a collective problem - and you cannot imo say fans are completely blameless.  If you don''t think you have the ability to have a negative effect - then you have no right to think you have a positive effect either.

Yes its the fans fault who attend all the away games that we have the worst away record in the league. Nothing to do with Hughton!

Get over it he''s gone and is the most culpable for that record he was supposed to be the manager.

Why don''t you read the post properly.  I said it was a whole club thing.  Hughton was part of that and I said so in my post.
