For the first time ever I felt that the negativity around this place spread to our PUPs threads. I''ve still had some terrific support and we''ve raised a record amount. But the numbers have dropped as the season went on and for the first time I found myself wondering if Rays Funds had run it''s course. I really am sincere when I say that I will run these threads for as long as you PUPs want them to be here but I would hate for a situation to arise where Rays Funds petered out mid-season. Having spoken to people yesterday after the game I''m feeling much more positive. So getting back to the World Cup my feeling is that we need to draw a line under this season. Have a break. The good news is that the insurance kicks in so we get a free bet for our last week which in turn gives me an extra tenner to carry over to next season. 32 of us picked this weekend with 24(75%) correct. Between us 15 teams were picked of which 11(73%) won. Unfortunately ''Broadslim and Scooby didn''t pick this week (I hope you''re both ok) so Trent is now the clear leader of our league with just one week to go. As you say the negativity spreads, and people either get caught up in other threads, or avoid the board altogether. This week is a good example where on the Thursday morning this thread was already on page 2 (Maybe we get it sticked again like before?) This time last year I was avoiding this board like the plague and susequently missed some weeks which I regret in hindsight, but next season when hopefully we will be winning regularly, there will be less competing threads and hopefully more people will come on to the PUP''s.As an aside - As per your post above, hopefully NBS is ok.
