nutty nigel 7,351 Posted May 14, 2014 Greetings PUPs and welcome toweek 40 which completes our Rays Funds season. This week we have Hector Brockelbankin charge and making the final selections for the very first time. Hector hashad a fantastic first season with us where he’s managed to get 30/37 (81%)winning selections. I’ve been doing this for 7 seasons and can’t get anywherenear that strike rate! But I knew we had a good ‘un when Hector put up longsequences of wins as soon as he joined. Last week AJ was so unlucky as the lastnap, Athletico Madrid let us down at the death. But that means that we get the£10 stake to reinvest this weekend. I think we have a good chance of ending theseason on a win so let’s give Hector every chance with some top qualityselections. I know there’s not much domestic football this weekend but there isthe cup final and a couple of play-off games. Of the main European leaguesthere are still matches in Italy, Spain, France and Turkey and of course manyother leagues. Don’t forget your selections must be listed on Bet365 or BillHill and played Sat/Sun/Mon this weekend. This is the last Rays Fundsof the season. I’d like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for yoursupport and congratulate you all for the magnificent achievement of raisingover £500 for the CSF. I’ll post all the final figures up next week. I’d alsolike to wish Trent, Norfolkbroadslim, Hissing Sid and Scooby the very best ofluck in the race to win our PUPs league. I always said I’d keep these threads going for as long as you PUPs wantthem to continue so it looks like we will be back next season. Last weekend Tilly set the ball rolling bydonating the £40 he won on a wager. He deserves a big thank you for that. Addedto the money we carry over from this season that means I will still need at least 30tenner donations to get through next season. Of course there’s no Norwichbet this weekend but I’m going to take this opportunity of thanking ouranonymous benefactor one more time. It added to our fun and the money weraised. I think we’d have done even better if our beloved club could have mademore positive things happen during the season! So now I’ll hand the threadover to Hector. Remember there’s no pressure because we are all going to bedoing our best to help you get your name in the Rays Funds Hall of Fame. We allstand together with the single aim of raising money for Community SportsFoundation. Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Hector ... the thread isyours....... [:)]......... As always I leave you withRays signature which now reads :- Carve their names withpride.Yankee,5,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,Blahblahblah, NCFC_Shaun, 1st Wazzock,3, Fonejacker,3, Norfolkbroadslim,2,Norfolkchance1,2, Scooby,3, Trent Canary,2, Cosmic Twin,2, Graham Humphrey,Leedscanary,2, NcfcStar, Herman, Delia’s Devonshire Dirtbox, Lappinitup,Statto, Mandie Moo, Mr Bump, Kathy, Til1010, Snake-eyes, Vindo, NWC, Hughesy.Gregt, GMF yes Norfolkchance1 £2038 for the Academy, and £430 for the CommunitySports Foundation. Hissing Sid 146 Posted May 14, 2014 Heading for the French League this week.St Etienne v Ajaccio - Home Win.St Etienne are 4th (11-5-2 33-14 at home), Ajaccio are rock bottom and long since down (1-5-12 13-36 away).Best of luck Hector, and all you PUPs.I''d like to say a huge thanks to Nutty for organising and running this again this season. If we go again next season, I''ll certainly be in and will present you with a crisp tenner next time I see you. And a massive well done to all PUPs, especially those who have added their name to Eddie''s signature line. Sadly I missed out thanks to Portugal conceding a last minute equaliser to Israel (Yes, I''m still bitter!!!). £500 plus for the CSF is not to be sniffed at.Have a great summer everyone. Feedthewolf 4,789 Posted May 14, 2014 AC Milan to beat Sassuolo. The away team have already secured a somewhat unlikely escape from relegation, so this will be a celebration for them with nothing to play for. Milan will be eager to avoid an embarrassing defeat after a difficult season by their standards, and I think they will have too much for the minnows of Sassuolo. 2/7 seems about right. PurpleCanary 5,530 Posted May 16, 2014 As it is the last week I just have to send nutty off on another treasure hunt to find the result! The Niedersachsen section of the German Oberliga. Luneburger SK Hansa to win at home against Celle. Top versus bottom, but Luneburger SK Hansa need the points to stay in the one automatic promotion place, while Celle have been long relegated. A 9-41-1 and 30/11 home record against a 0-2-12 and 9/39 away record. The drawback is that those bookies are not idiots, have looked at those statistics, and have given a home win the absurd odds of 1/20. That said, in a week with a lack of choice and possibly hard to settle on six, it might be useful.Good luck to all!
