Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 40

Recommended Posts

Greetings PUPs and welcome to

week 40 which completes our Rays Funds season. This week we have Hector Brockelbank

in charge and making the final selections for the very first time. Hector has

had a fantastic first season with us where he’s managed to get 30/37 (81%)

winning selections. I’ve been doing this for 7 seasons and can’t get anywhere

near that strike rate! But I knew we had a good ‘un when Hector put up long

sequences of wins as soon as he joined. Last week AJ was so unlucky as the last

nap, Athletico Madrid let us down at the death. But that means that we get the

£10 stake to reinvest this weekend. I think we have a good chance of ending the

season on a win so let’s give Hector every chance with some top quality

selections. I know there’s not much domestic football this weekend but there is

the cup final and a couple of play-off games. Of the main European leagues

there are still matches in Italy, Spain, France and Turkey and of course many

other leagues. Don’t forget your selections must be listed on Bet365 or Bill

Hill and played Sat/Sun/Mon this weekend.

This is the last Rays Funds

of the season. I’d like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your

support and congratulate you all for the magnificent achievement of raising

over £500 for the CSF. I’ll post all the final figures up next week. I’d also

like to wish Trent, Norfolkbroadslim, Hissing Sid and Scooby the very best of

luck in the race to win our PUPs league.

I always said I’d keep these threads going for as long as you PUPs want

them to continue so it looks like we will be back next season. Last weekend Tilly set the ball rolling by

donating the £40 he won on a wager. He deserves a big thank you for that. Added

to the money we carry over from this season that means I will still need at least 30

tenner donations to get through next season.

Of course there’s no Norwich

bet this weekend but I’m going to take this opportunity of thanking our

anonymous benefactor one more time. It added to our fun and the money we

raised. I think we’d have done even better if our beloved club could have made

more positive things happen during the season!

So now I’ll hand the thread

over to Hector. Remember there’s no pressure because we are all going to be

doing our best to help you get your name in the Rays Funds Hall of Fame. We all

stand together with the single aim of raising money for Community Sports

Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Hector ... the thread is

yours....... [:)].........

As always I leave you with

Rays signature which now reads :-

Carve their names with

pride.Yankee,5,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,

Heading for the French League this week.

St Etienne v Ajaccio - Home Win.

St Etienne are 4th (11-5-2 33-14 at home), Ajaccio are rock bottom and long since down (1-5-12 13-36 away).

Best of luck Hector, and all you PUPs.

I''d like to say a huge thanks to Nutty for organising and running this again this season. If we go again next season, I''ll certainly be in and will present you with a crisp tenner next time I see you.

And a massive well done to all PUPs, especially those who have added their name to Eddie''s signature line. Sadly I missed out thanks to Portugal conceding a last minute equaliser to Israel (Yes, I''m still bitter!!!). £500 plus for the CSF is not to be sniffed at.

Have a great summer everyone.

Hello all,

Good luck Hector, hope for one final win this season!

French Ligue 1 for me this week

ST ETIENNE v Ajaccio - HOME WIN

Thanks to everyone for picking this year and keeping Ray''s dream and memory alive. Special thanks to the mysterious benefactor too for giving us a bit of added fun this season.

And of course, thanks to Nutty/Eddie for keeping the stats, looking after the money and all the admin that comes with Rays funds. I know we all appreciate him immensely and I am proud to call him a friend.

And you only need 28 more tenners mate - you''ll have my usual £20 before the start of next season.

AC Milan to beat Sassuolo. The away team have already secured a somewhat unlikely escape from relegation, so this will be a celebration for them with nothing to play for. Milan will be eager to avoid an embarrassing defeat after a difficult season by their standards, and I think they will have too much for the minnows of Sassuolo. 2/7 seems about right.

Thanks for the intro nutty and thanks for the chance to pick the final six. I certainly didn''t expect it in my debut season. I only wish I had joind the pups sooner as it has been great fun. I''ll defiantly be joining in again next season. Hopefully sometime next season I''ll be able to make it to games again and meet up with some of you guys.

I''d also like to join nutty in thanking our annonamous benefactor for the match bet. I think it''s safe to say it''s been a hit with all on this thread this season.

I really hope we can end the season on a high note and will be looking at all your picks over the next couple of days and posting the final six sometime after 9pm on Friday

Good luck everybody

I''m going for a PSG win at home to Montpelier, PSG may have won the tite but should still be far too good for their opponents who are down in 14th. Odds are 2/7.

Good luck Hector and all PUPs and as jb said, great thanks to Nutty Nigel for organising the thread for Ray''s funds for the whole season.

Carrying on with the same theme I''ve used for the last few weeks with mixed success I''m off to Turkey where a home win for Galatasaray would ensure them the champions league qualification place.

Galatasaray                v                Kayseri Erciyesspor               Home Win

I''ll be going back again in a few weeks[H] Maybe for a look around the markets........

Good luck Hector.

Hull to beat Arsenal, just have a feeling Arsenal will choke again plus fact that a lot of their players are world cup bound may mean that minds are elsewhere.

Good Luck Hector and all pickers.

Many thanks again to Nutty for keeping this thread alive. Look forward to seeing it back on the board next year.

Going to the RoI this week and Shamrock Rovers are definitely going to thrash Athlone Town! Not great odds at 1/6 but doesn''t appear to be picked yet so offering something different at least (Hopefully, although my something else last week had already been picked i''d just missed it).

Shamrock Rovers vs Athlone Town- Home win.

Good Luck :)

As it is the last week I just have to send nutty off on another treasure hunt to find the result! The Niedersachsen section of the German Oberliga. Luneburger SK Hansa to win at home against Celle. Top versus bottom, but Luneburger SK Hansa need the points to stay in the one automatic promotion place, while Celle have been long relegated. A 9-41-1 and 30/11 home record against a 0-2-12 and 9/39 away record. The drawback is that those bookies are not idiots, have looked at those statistics, and have given a home win the absurd odds of 1/20. That said, in a week with a lack of choice and possibly hard to settle on six, it might be useful.Good luck to all!
