Pray for United tonight....

Recommended Posts

... As our match with them is the Saturday before the Champions league semi final second leg......

Then onto Arsenal beating Wigan and fourth place sorted one way or the other before the final game.

May be straw clutching but big clubs are vulnerable before the matches they prioritise and represent the only opportunity of silverware for both.....

Or, conversely, a Saturday evening kick off with a second leg on Tuesday/Wednesday with a chance of a Champions League final would mean a virtually second string side sent out to play us.......

Look at it whichever way you want, but to me, a United side out of the Champions League and chasing down 6th spot and European qualification is far tougher than a team planning for a second leg of a Champions league semi final.

All hypothetical though....

The possibility/probability of Man U finishing at least 5th may well determine how much they prioritise any remaining CL games over their PL game against us. If they cannot finish 5th then winning the CL could be the only chance that they have for any European football next season.
Well they aint going to win the CL are they, thier bloody lucky to have got this far.
Why becuase lucky teams don''t win anything?

Wigan - FA Cup

Chelsea - Champs League

Man U - Champs League

Greece - Euro Cup

History is strewn with lucky clubs winning silverware. If it wasn''t we might as well all go home and not bother and let the top 4 play by themselves for everything.

After that we''d probably want them to not get beaten too heavily in the first leg so that they''re still serious about the second.
