Why these three teams are likely to go down........Norwich City.....Ricky van Wolfswinkel.  (23)  (1)  [:''(]Cardiff City.....Andreas Cornelius.  (8)  (0)  [:''(]Sunderland.....Connor Wickham.  (36)  (1)  [:''(]Three expensive strikers all costing about the same and all who failed to live up to expectations. (I realise Wickham wasn''t bought this season but at 21 he was expected to flourish by now). Just shows what a gamble it is trying to find successful strikers.

People get too hung up on player values.  £8 million sounds a lot, but guarantees nothing.   Its a lottery.   RVW hasn''t got going, but has ability.   People will continue to rubbish him until he proves otherwise - but that is his incentive - to prove he can do it.

Maybe a season with us in the Champs would be good for RVW, bit more physical, he''s got time to adapt, but the defending isn''t at a Primership level. I don''t know, I just still want the lad to come good and wish him well. He didn''t become a crap football player the moment he stepped on that plane in Portugal despite what some people here would believe.

But using an extension of that argument Fulham will survive despite having squandered £12 million on Konstantinos Mitroglou. West Brom will survive despite spending £6 million on Victor Anichebe and Crystal Palace will also be ok even though they spent £8 million on Dwight Gayle.

Yes, RVW and to a slightly lesser extent Hooper have both failed this season and their lack of goals is a big reason for the dire straits we find ourselves in. However, the bottom line is the entire team must take responsibility for what has happened as despite these shortcomings all the other teams listed above appear to have found a way.

Contradictive? Hooper has lesser ability but still poached a few until his drought. Both forwards haven''t been supplied but equally neither have really taken any chances. Have we made keepers make saves to be world class? Over used word when many this season have been more at them than them stretching. Such as RvW yesterday, either side at point blank and goal.
