So Sunderland won at Chelsea. Why can't we then?

Recommended Posts

Especially given Chelsea are quite likely to have nothing to play for when we face them. Neyul''s already won there when it most mattered in his managerial career too.West Brom won at Man Utd, and Fulham got a draw there. Why can''t we then? Especially given they''ve got nothing to play for too.Arsenal drew at West Brom, lost at home to Villa, drew with a Championship side a week ago; and last season at CR, we beat them. Why can''t we do so again? Especially given there''s a mounting chance they''ll be safe in 4th and resting many players ahead of the Cup Final. And Liverpool? Liverpool have lost at Hull, drawn at Swansea and drawn at West Brom. They''re without Henderson tomorrow and maybe without Sturridge. They are bound to be nervous given the opportunity they now have to go clear; and some of their players might also know that, written off 2 years ago after a draw at home to Sunderland, Man City won their remaining games and won the title. If Liverpool fail to win tomorrow - and especially if they lose - the whole tenor of the media coverage about them will change. Suddenly, it''ll be about whether a young side will choke the title away. Suddenly, it''ll be about that 24 year long wait potentially being extended in a manner which could devastate them. We have to take advantage of that. There''s a reason why people talk about the magic 40 point mark. If you don''t get there, you are reliant on others. Huge amounts of the time, it''s still OK - but by default, not by anything much that you do as a side. Well, f**k staying up by default. Fuck relying on others. Fuck "oh, it''s impossible for Sunderland to get more than 0.789 points from their remaining games" and all this bollocks. Fuck pant wetting and acting like we''re already down when we''re not.We have 4 games now in which we have the chance to show that we deserve to remain in this league. Us. No-one else; us. It''s in our own hands - so let''s grasp it. Shock the world, Norwich; shock the world. OTBC. Never mind the danger.

Great post Shaun. The players have more reason than any of us to have a right go. It''s their pay packets that will get hammered. For some there would probably never be a return to the PL. The least we can do is try and support them over the line rather than meekly waving the white flag on here.
If our mis firing striker has 3 shots on target in our last 4 games i would be shocked.
Have you got anything to contribute to this thread, you miserable energy sapper? Wouldn''t fancy you alongside the rest of us in the trenches. Life is full of challenges. Sometimes challenges in which the odds are great. Successes in life embrace those challenges and thrive on those challenges. Those who don''t succeed are scared of them and give up before they''ve even got started.Do not be in that second category. This is sport; anything can happen. But we have a far greater chance with more than 25,000 fans tomorrow all pulling in the same direction. If 25,000 people run at a wall in separate directions, the wall stands. If they all charge together, the wall must fall.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO4tIrjBDkkOn this team, we fight for that inch. Let''s do it.

Regardless of what happened today we will get comfortably beaten at Chelsea. And probably Man Utd. Just like we predictably were at Swansea and Southampton when so many of the same deluded posters were expecting us to pick up points. We just aren''t capable of going to the big boys and getting a result. Never have been. Right now we aren''t even capable of winning away at the likes of Villa, Fulham, Swansea,West Ham and Cardiff! The damage has been done on that front. Our only hope is 6 points against liverpool and arsenal. And that''s not going to happen.

Correct me if I''m wrong here TCWE.

Aren''t you the fans equivalent, of the players that you criticise?

If we had a player post on here, would they say you (as a fan) are incapable of ''supporting'' the team because you cannot come up with any positive signs?

Guaranteed he will be one of the first on here kicking off if we lose today, even though he has been predicting it on many a thread.

The desire of individuals to try and prove some sort of personal justification, an I told you so attitude, overlooking the actual fortunes of the team is hitting a sickening low on this board.

Well, all you deluded people.

We won''t beat Chelsea away because Sunderland did, because lighting does not strike twice.

And, Norwich does not possess the kind of ugly luck Sunderland has in the big games.

Sunderlands win was a travesty. A daylight robbery.

Would you expect Azpilcueta to slip up when facing Snodgrass in that position? And then concede a penalty that never was (Altidore stepped on Azilpicuetas foot, and it was never a penalty).

No, Sunderlands win was pure luck, and to bad it will come to haunt us in two ways. Chelea will be more fired up to beat us now, and Sunderland got more than hope to stay in the league with their easy run-in, which is bad for us.

Sunderland picked up 4 unlikely points in two away games at Man C and Chelsea,

Sadly Norwich are far too predictable to do something similar.

We don''t have the players, and we certainly don''t have the luck after all the months of underperforming under Hughton.

Our two away games can be written off.

It is all about drawing with Liverpool, and beating Arsenal in the last game.

And, as I have been messing about since Septembr, our fate will be decided by other teams failing, not ourselves excessing. We don''t have the qualities.

So we need luck. Ugly luck.

Grefstad, must admit I agree with most of what you say. This Borwich team hasn''t got the quality nor the bottle to cause an upset like that. Only wishing for lady Luck is not gonna help...
